Hedgehog
I'd do iron until 70, using any group of 3 rocks, i.e. Ardougne or Piscatoris. Also, fill your inventory with junk, saving the 3 vertical places in the bottom left. You should mine 3 at a time then drop in quick succession. With practice, you should be able to drop 3x faster than usual.

Jaffy1
First: are you F2p or P2p? Without knowing that I would recommend mining iron and use the resource dungeon for the deposit box. That way you'll have some money to show for your "pain". K4ylan
Regardless of whether or not you're F2P or P2P, use the resource dungeon Jaffy mentioned above. I made ~3.5m from 60 to 70 with this method, only took about 16-17 hours as well. ~~~The Harpy List~~~Harpy Facts~~~It's Super Effective~~~The Beginning~~~Harpy Therapy Center~~~Alg~~~Jedi Harpy~~~Rohirrim~~~Attenuation~~~

The fastest xp is granite, and anything other than that is a dramatic loss of xp. Banking iron is what, like 40k xp/hour and 250k gp/hour max? Revenga
For some people, 250k/hr is ALOT. Especially considering he's less then 60 mining my guess is he doesn't have alot of cash, or the skills required to make large sums of $/hr. That being said, banking iron at the resource dungeon is faster then dropping it for some people, and in F2P that's the best option. |Msg me me in-game | IrreIephant| ^ capital i

Yes, 65k is bigger than 55k, so granite is more xp then conc gold. Second, the fastest xp is through powermining, and you can earn a lot more money in the time you save. Third, he isn't f2p. Frankly, with the resource dungeon I'd probably bank it because it's (imo) too much of a pain to drop it. I know I'D rather train a skill in a more slow, afk'able way then train something very fast with lots of clicking. I.E. mining iron and dropping it as opposed to banking.... Jaffy1
He says mining is painful in general, which says to me that he hates banking too, which is why he should powermine, because it gets it over with quicker. As been raised by others, dropping is more hassle than quick banking, and the OP asked for a method without dropping. To get back to concentrated gold: less clicking, less paying attention, comparable xp in mining to granite (I believe I get around 60k/hr when semi-afk mining). Add the magic and smithing xp from superheating and there is no need to even consider granite as that demands constant paying attention and clicking (and can offer less overall xp). Also, there is no need to attempt to flame me. Seeing how the "best" methods always are opinions, all you have to do is to agree to disagree. That's fine, but there's no need to be rude. Oh, and while we're on the topic of stupid rhetorical questions, I appear the only one with 99 mining here (aside from izakiwi2), so who do you think has more experience with the skill? To get back on topic, as izakiwi2 noted, star hunting is great for variety, and since you're P2p you might want to use Varrock armour from the Varrock Achievement Diary for faster ores. NastyJenny
Dropping ores is a pain, yeah iron and banking in the ressource dungeon is the way to go imo. Mining a star a day if possible would come in handy. Might as well *not* use varrock armor as double ores don't give double xp.
