dargonhuman
I'm trying to finish the second part of Rag and Bone Man, and the last special bone I need is the Basilisk. Which I need lvl 40 Slayer to kill... and I'm only lvl 36 at this time.I've been going to Turael in Burthorpe for my Slayer assignments because he gives short, easy tasks. I'm lvl 97 with 70 att, 81 str and 71 def and using melee, so blowing through 45 Goblins or 37 Crawling Hands is a breeze. Why, you may ask (and Turael does!) don't I go talk to higher level Masters to get better exp tasks? Because I hate training Slayer, it's boring, tedious and I'd rather not add difficult to that list. Sure, I COULD go slay dragons and demons to get better XP rates, at the cost of food, pots and frustration I don't want to expend. If something is going to be boring and tedious, I'd at least have it be easy. I'm lazy like that.I say all that to say this, I really REALLY wish Turael would stop asking if I want to talk to a higher level Slayer Master. If I wanted to, I would. I'm not stupid, just lazy, and if I want to risk life, limb and monk fish battling dragons and demons, I'd do it. But the honest truth is, I don't want to, so stop freaking asking, Turael! I really wish there was some way to turn off that damned question (like the danger warnings), but I doubt there is. *sigh* Guess I gotta keep clicking "No" for the foreseeable future... Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr you could use a higher level slayer master. I mean really, level 97 using Turael? Lowest level master... Honestly, you SHOULD try out Vannaka. At least use the guy in canifis please. And honestly, if I had to train slayer through goblins and crawling hands, I'd find it tedious and boring too. I mean, demons and dragons aren't that hard anyways, at least the ones Vannaka would give. You ARE level 97. For crying out loud, your 3 levels away from being allowed to use Duradel. Vannaka really shouldn't be that hard for you. And, here's another thing, if Vannaka REALLY gives you a task you don't want to do, you COULD always go to Turael for a new task anyways. DUELMASTER30
Slayer sucks at the beginning levels, but if you trained it to even a half decent level (I'd say 60+) then you might start to like it. You get very good exp rates and a lot of money, along with semi-varied training. None of Vannaka's tasks are difficult, and few require more than maybe 1/2-1 invent of food or maybe a few prayer potions, which is well made up for in the exp gain and money made. So if you're going to give that up, I'd say you should have to hear that message every time. Youmu
ALWAYS use your highest slayer master (in your case, Sumona). There is absolutely no reason not to. Higher slayer masters give better tasks, and more slayer points per task. Plus, it's Runescape. Sometimes you HAVE to do things you don't enjoy to get maximum benefits. PereGrin
Yeah, if I trained slayer on crawling hands and cave slime and wolves and whatnot, I would hate it as well. Why not just take the damage boost from a black mask that Vannaka gives you against green dragons and lesser demons and stuff. That is where your level range of character trains normally right? At the very least, you get to see yourself hit bigger numbers against lesser demons simply because you can't 1-hit them like you do cave slime. I mean, when I do greater demon tasks, I take a bunyip to do the task, and I can finish a task in 1 bunyip simply because I can kill like 80 of them before I even need to summon the bunyip. And they are about as boring as cave slime. So it's not like you are risking anything by fighting junk Vannaka gives you. Maybe a few of Chaeldar's tasks might do that, but honestly, you get like harpy bugs every other task from her, and thats about the same thing as cave slime. All_Is_Great
Agreed with OP, and not just slayer masters, there are so many damn useless dialogue that you have to click through. For example, buying beer from bars, making strength potions at the apothecary, etc. And, you know what's worse? When you think the dialogue is over after you click "OK", so you click the NPC to start buy another beer, only to realize you gotta click "click here to continue", before the barmaid gives you the beer. :wall: #-o

Pretty sure you need more then 35 slayer for it, for one thing. Also, Turael gives NO points. Frankly, I can understand why you might be worried about a hard task; but seriously, Demons and Dragons aren't that hard. I mean, again, your almost at the level to use Duradel. Now for some of my last post.... Vannaka's tasks shouldn't be that hard to begin with; and you STILL have the option of going to Turael if the task is TRULY troubling. Plus, slayer would be a lot more fun if you WEREN'T killing Goblins, crawling hands and cave slimes. I agree that there's some unnecessary dialogue in RS, but at this point you SHOULD be using someone better then Turael. Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. Cheefoo
ALWAYS use your highest slayer master (in your case, Sumona). There is absolutely no reason not to. Faster points. But in this case, Turael doesn't give any points... In respsonse to the original post, I'd say it's better to use a better slayer master. Taking an extra 2 seconds of dialogue really isn't much compared to the terribly slow experience Turael gives. You're much better off using a higher level master. I hated rc at first, but as soon as I heard about the money it makes, as well as GOP, I trained it the best way and loved the skill. Same with just about any other skill.
