Question about Pest Queen [Closed]

The Dark Lord

Recommended Posts

I died during my first attempt after getting her almost to a red bar. The reason for this was that I screwed up a spec during her special attack and ran out of Saradomin brew.

Before I go back, I want to know a few things so that I waste as little supplies as possible.

I am a level 132 (all 99 combat except for prayer, summoning, and range. No access to turmoil or soil split, and I have too low Herblore for the new potions) with very limited wealth due to not playing for years. I have less than 2m cash to my name due to me quitting and squandering my cash on my house and then destroying my house to prevent myself from coming back. I don't really have the time to grind up cash.

My inventory consisted of:

-120 Ambush scrolls (Kyatt)

-3 prayer potions(4)

-10 Saradomin brews(4)

-5 super restore potions(4)

-rest of inventory rocktails

I was wearing:

-Neitiznot helm(e)

-Black dragonhide top

-Black dragonhide chaps

-Amulet of glory

-Dragon boots

-Rune Defender

-Korasi's sword (of course...)

-Dark/barrows gloves

I used protect from melee prayer and piety and used a kyatt's special attack to get extra damage on the Pest Queen.

Five questions:

- Should I replace all rocktails with saradomin brews?

- Is there a better Saradomin-super restores ratio that I can use for this fight?

- I heard that you can go back to the Pest Queen after death and finish where you left off. Is this true? I tried doing it (respawned in Camelot) and teleported to Falador and talked to Sir Tiffy, but the fight was reset when I got there. Why? Did my soldiers and archers die while I was away, or did teleporting to Falador reset the fight?

- What do you do when you run out of Special Attack meter (you used it only when needed)?

- I noticed that she used her special once and it only killed the melee soldiers but left my archers unharmed. Does this mean that I can just run away from her when the special discharges and prevent the high damage to myself and my archers still be unharmed?

Thanks.

1- no i did it with sharks and my stats are around 87, had no problems

2- you shouldn't even need to use sara brews 0o

3- i teleported away once and it reset, i believe you can't finish it off or people wouldn't even complain about killing her

4- well the point of the fight imo is killing her before that happens lol. once again, with super pots and my stats i finished her exatly after using my last spec attk

5- Even if you're archers didn't die, it would be a waste, because the spec hits for a pretty high, and you would still be missing the small but extra damage from the melee soldiers.

Conclusion: don't panic, it's almost as easy as blood runs deep last boss, all you need is to have quick reflexes in switching and spotting the defilers.

A 3:1 brew-restore ratio is generaly the best.

You can't finish where you left off during the fight, just during the actual quest, I.E. you can't hurt the Queen to half, leave, and then finish her off.

You probably will run out of special attack bar towards the end, there's no way to get it back up besides the potion, basically leaving you helpless to her special. (Special attack restore pot)

You can't help your melee soldiers if the Queen manages to get her spec off, and you can't save yourself from it, as far as I know. Also, make sure you kill the Defilers. (Maybe Ravagers? I can't remember, the purple ranging ones) They target your archers, which are imperitive. (They hurt the healers)

I killed it with much lower melee stats (78 attack 78 strength 75 defence) with relative ease. Make sure you spec her when she shakes and you should never run out of special. I only used rocktails and I didn't even use a full inventory. I wore Torag's platebody and legs with neit helm. Kill the defilers as soon as they spawn and you shouldn't have much trouble.

Use melee gear & pray mage. You want to tank the queen's attacks to keep the knights alive & tank the rangers which requires ranged defence. Borrow bcp and buy torag's legs or something.

- Should I replace all rocktails with saradomin brews?

You shouldn't even need brews. I did it at lower stats than in my sig and I only used a full invy of rocktail, with a full tort of rocktail left over.

- Is there a better Saradomin-super restores ratio that I can use for this fight?

Once again, you shouldn't even need brews. But if you insist on using them, the best ratio is 3 brews:1 sup. restore.

If you die or leave, the fight will always reset.

- What do you do when you run out of Special Attack meter (you used it only when needed)?

Maybe I was lucky, but I never ran out of specs and I don't have spec restores.

- I noticed that she used her special once and it only killed the melee soldiers but left my archers unharmed. Does this mean that I can just run away from her when the special discharges and prevent the high damage to myself and my archers still be unharmed?

Always use your spec to stop hers. You always want your knights to be alive. Also, make sure you are attacking her from an angle away from the knights, so when she melees, her melee attack doesn't kill them. You should also be attacking the ravagers that she summons to protect your archers.

Thanks.

You shouldn't run out of special attack power. Although I had spec restores and specced every 5 seconds, you still should have no problem using the spec when needed.

Also, try wearing barrows armour and protect from melee. Remember to trap the defilers so more doesn't spawn. A full inv + familiar's rocktails would be good, this also allows you to use super potions since you won't lower your stats with brews anymore.

Shield is ok, your own damage isn't a big deal. Protect mage is better with melee gear.

i killed the queen at 111 cb.

i used brews, terrorbird with brews (that i ended up not needing lol).

i think i ran out of spec once, maybe twice. as long as you can take the 500 hits your fine, as it wont take long for the archers to come back.

my advise.

you may not "need" brews but thay are not TOO exspensive so getting a few would be helpfull.

if you do, remember not to take a defence potion as the brew boosts def.

allways pray the highest boosting str prayer you can when useing the spec.

sometimes you sumon might attack one of the deflilers.

avoiding that is nice becouse it just means it will respwan and it might kill an archer or 2.

when meleeing her, prot melee.

no matter what your doing, when at least 1 squere away, port mage.

last of all, remember, you can defeat her. so good luck and shall your victory be swift!

Also as long as I aggro the defilers, they will attack me and not the archers, nor will more defilers be able to spawn?

Also should 3 prayer pots be enough?

Your gear is decent, you should be able to kill her with that. As for the inventory, you should have about 12-15 super restore, ~150 ambush scroll, spirit kyatt pouch and 11-14 saradomin brews. While you are at a bank summon a war tortoise and fill it with saradomin brews. Have your familiar left click option on "Special Move."

During the fight have piety and protection from melee on. As soon as you see the elite defilers attack them once to draw thier attention towards you then go back attacking the queen.

Good luck! ;-)

EDIT; You do not need to bring prayer potions because of the super restores.
