Bots already?

the bots never left m8. And its reasonable that gold farmers and people who want a little extra money on the side for there main would begin a few days before to get stats set up etc. Theres no reason you cant build up a supply before there is a demand when you know there will be demand.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

There is if you're botting.

Additionally, how did RS even detect bots in the first place?

It seems to me that they're pretty rampant - if they had any legitimate bot detection, botting would be half of what it is now already...

No there isn't. Jagex doesn't even ban bots anymore.

People saying bots never left are half right, but the coming update has made a huge increase in the numbers, you just have to take a look at the pure ess mines to see that. Now that people can bot on throwaway accs and transfer the money without risking their mains it makes sense that more people will be tempted. Doesn't really bother me though tbh, they keep prices down and they don't harm me personally. I think it's worth it for free trade and wildy. And rumours are their will be a big mass ban when the update comes, which should put people off.

i botted mage a while ago (70-82). I got banned twice, both were 10 day bans. It was so not worth it.

Raised my blackmarks to the red zone. I was so careful as to not even say like "dollar" or something stupid to get reported for rwt or other nonsense.

Jagex probably detects constant exp gain (auto alch), clicking on the same coordinates, and doing the same activity for hours and hours on end without talking or doing anything human-like (suicide botting). If someone alches in soul wars for 5 hours straight, they probably will talk to someone or do something else. I don't know anybody that can sit in one spot clicking high alchemy for 5 hours straight, and jagex understands this clearly.

Bots have continuously been coming and going, more coming than anything really. But nevertheless Jagex supposedly has a new system in effect as we speak.

So lets just hope they take a huge chunk down and tackle the coming onslaught of them.

Just a little opinion/question: If we really think about it don't bots keep resources at a fluctuating but steady price?

So if they do, do a massive ban especially with F-trade tomorrow wouldn't it be a double down on prices because if you really look at it. It has to be at least a week or so before prices finally start to stabilize after Free Trade is released.

There have always been bots, but I'm sure now it has been increasing. Don't just assume people are bots though. I fish at LRC and kinda don't pay attention because I usually am doing homework or watching TV shows. Just because they don't talk while they skill doesn't mean they are a bot. Of course, there are those who are.

They are not bots, just afkers.

Yeah, there are afkers but there are also botters.

Most of the time, if it's a skill that requires constant monitoring - mining, combat, high alching - you can probably bet that if they never respond they're either

a.) botting

b.) turned of public chat

i don't actually know that many people who turn off public chat for giggles.

I can hardly think clicking all of 5 different things for hours on end is fun and that chatting would take you away from that.

Either that or you're super dedicated

For example, i'm doing slayer at ghouls right now. There are two players <names removed>

I tried to talk to them no response. That's fine.

Funny thing is when two ghouls spawn near each other withing like a second or so - BOTH of them will attack one for one attack then try to click on the other one. He'll keep running to the other one evne though the one behind him is attacking him.

They don't stop unless somebody kill the one they're trying to target.

Now they can't possibly be that idiotic that they're trying to target somebody when a prime target is already targeting him.

Pretty sure they're botters.

Still, you probably don't want to accuse someone of botting, when you technically have no proof yourself. You can report them, but there's no need to name them specifically for all of us. How would you feel if someone said on forums you were botting and you actually weren't? mellow.gif

2 of my rl friends actually auto alched in void pest control boats, and got 99 mage in 1 week, my friend was on top 42 runetracker with 7m mage xp in 1 week. I kept telling them that they'll get banned, but guess what they didn't. So I have very little faith in Jagex trying to prevent botting.

However auto alching maybe harder to detect than bots.

why not?

Because that would be morally wrong.

Morally wrong how? I'm guessing it's an assumption, not an accusation, and there's no moral concerns about thinking, only about actions. If it was an accusation, meaning he took action and reported without proof, then it's not morally wrong, just stupid.

I miss the time when botters were bald, had tanned shirts and green pants.

I mean it's pretty much proof.

I don't have any real evidence like a screenshot of their computer or anything along those lines but, what kind of player tries to target a monster even though the very same one is behind them?

They're either botting or trying to convince people they're botting and i'm pretty sure it's not that latter.
