And Nadril: I'm mostly lurking offtopic.com and playing WoW these days, as far as my internet presence goes. (Other than Facebook, of course.)

At college still (graduated high school almost 5 years ago, lawl). Have about a year left until I graduate. Working as well..

I always assumed you were older than me, hah. I'm in my last semester of college myself. You still do stuff related to graphics?

Also I remember that sig. Nice shot of the old forums in the background.

Nah, I hardly ever do any graphic work anymore, sadly. Just haven't had the need really..

Hey lead and crew. Rs story: After being in an adult clan with bwareofmef i finally joined DI in like 2006. I became an advisor and then we closed last year.

y ([bleep]s). since then I've still been hanging out with alot of ex-DI first on Near Reality(an rs private server) then league of legends. these days im working INSANE hours producing a liberal talk show so i only get to game on weekends. i say we do what Limbaugh does with 49 people with 2 AND he has callers lol. i secretly think we're better because we're legit. i dont go on air tho.

real life: it is what it is. gonna live fast and im gonna die old. i still need to lose weight and get a girlfriend but thats so far behind the revolution that it doesn't even matter;)

fun fact: das1330 msgd me on facebook about this but ihad an environmental conference so i told him id deal with it when i got back, BUT i had a google alert for "oergg" so i wouldhave seen it anyway. [bleep]ed. up.

fun fact2: i imported my MSN list to twitter afew months ago and mad4u came up. i think i msgd her with @name LOLOL??????? but she didnt message me back. no twitter etiquette i tell you - you can follow me on twitter @banditelli for all my daily ridiculous'

fun fact3: i actually spent a good day or two trying to track your ass down 4-5 years ago cuz you promised me a blue party hat if you ever quit

fun fact4: remember how i always reveled in your range level in rsc? well 66TH TO 99 RANGE IN THE WORLD MATHA[bleep]A!

fun fact5: i still pay $5/month for rs. even tho quit when DI closed i refuse to cancel my subscription. its still a part of me. an evil evil part of me

edit: im actually pissed i dont have a sig anymore. wtf!

as to PDJ i saw him on awhile ago. now that wild is back im on more. im 27 but still game with 16 year olds. gah. this month would actually be my 10 year rs anniv.

Edit: Why the [bleep] does it say a "wyrm sig production"? I seem to remember you forced me to put that there?

How old am I? *remembers he can't swear* 30 just recently. Man, never thought it would happen - seriously, especially at the rate I used to drink; pretty sure I was half-cut most of my RS/tipit days. Hey, not saying I don't drink now (lol drinkin a beer now) but I take it a little easier these days. I'm a big, bearded dude, but still feel like I'm about 20. It's just ridiculous how quickly a few years fly by.

Mad4u - another friggin blast from the past! I'm lovin how much I'm reminiscing by being in this thread. Glad to hear your life is going so well. Phd? Sheet, who woulda thought from a runescaper...seriously, good on ya. Very happy for you.

Harro to 1manarmy. I assume you're the same one from way back when. Haha, again, lovin the nostalgia! Hope all is well mate.

Missfrodo - not under a rock, just smokin some. Haha Jk... Or am I?...

Rpggamer - quick, say something else nice about me! My ego is slowly deflating after all these years and needs a quick boost. Wise, phenomenal, sexually attractive to Jessica alba/Miranda Kerr (over SMG now...) or untapped genius are all acceptable descriptions of me.

Das - still can't get over the fact you're not an annoying (in a nice way) kid anymore. I don't know why but I had this feeling I aged and everyone stayed the same...

Ps. Did I mention I'm loving the catch-up? It's more fun than being a /b/tard...

Oergg my pal - so good to hear all is going so well, almost a little bit jelly. Sounds like a great career path. Seriously, good on ya mate; I'm proud of ya.

I loved the freak train pics. You know that was my original RS char appearance? Well before make over mage, I signed up and thought 'what's the most ridiculous looking character I can pick?' - so I chose a bald-headed black woman wearing the gayest-coloured outfit I could choose (no offense to gay Ppl of course - each to their own). Yeah, interesting choice, I know. I love how in one of those photobucket pics some dude is saying 'why is everyone a bald black chick!?'. THAT was the reason I came up with it; I thoroughly enjoyed the WTF's from people...

GSM - totally remember you dude (of course). Cheers for popping in to say hello. When I started this thread I never expected to find the people I did (like your good self) and it's just an awesome trip down memory lane. I can literally smell the sawdust burning as the parts of my brain in charge of memory fire up. Give us a quick run-down of your life, if you don't mind :). Again, thanks for the memories.

Anyway, I am no longer a customs broker; I got the [cabbage]s with the idiots and the shifty Chinese customers (no probs with Chinese people, but man, you guys are done shifty importers...). I assume Oz is similar to the rest of the western world where we buy their junk cheap, then add it to the landfill a couple weeks later. I used to get invoices with items that were prohibited and I'd call them up and say 'do you have an import permit because that's prohibited' and i'd get 'oh sorry, wrong invoice', then the prohibited items on the list of junk on the invoice would be changed to 'toys' or something else. Everything else on the invoice (Inc. cost and quantities) was the same as the last one. "hello, Australian Customs. I've got another shifty douche...". Lol funny times, but repetitive and having people think you're an idiot gets very testing...

Sooo, now I own/run a small second-hand mid-20th century and designer furniture store. My parents have done that kinda thing for years and it's super popular in the works at the moment, so I opened up like 8 months ago. Feast and famine is the best description, but I love being my own boss and kicking out customers who piss me off.

Alright, better end this essay - gotta wash my lovely dog (an American staffy female). I guess you yanks have produced something worthwhile afterall ;)

Love and alcohol,

Lead.

@Lead: Wow, remind me to never be a customs officer. That sounds like a pain to deal with... mad shady :P I could totally see you being a small business owner, though. I can't imagine doing it myself... sounds stressful, and yeah, up and down. I like just sitting at a computer desk all day, fairly regular hours, for my job, just getting a salary :P Don't be too impressed with my future-PhDness... I haven't gotten there yet, heh :D Dusqi, on the other hand, is almost finished with his... hopefully he'll come onto this thread and brag about himself soon. (He also has an extremely successful facebook app). Right now I'm still working as a research assistant for a research center at Columbia University that studies community colleges and programs that might improve them. Unrelated, but also, I became a total beer drinker in college. What are your favorites? I'm mostly an IPA girl myself.

@Oergg: Haha, I'm so sorry I never responded on twitter! I never read my @ messages because, well, I've usually seen them all in my twitter feed... not many people follow me or tweet at me without me following them :P But working for a liberal talk show, that's awesome! Where are you syndicated? I'm kind of addicted to liberal politics now (mostly blogs... I don't really listen to radio) so that's super exciting :D I just followed you on Twitter, fyi. It tells me we both follow @attackerman. Good times... he likes good music AND good liberal politics. (Well, although actually some of his foreign policy stuff these days isn't actually all that liberal, but, ah, well... still think he's a smart guy). Also it's also going to be my 10 year anniversary either this month or the next (I forget which), too, and that feels crazy weird. Time flies, I guess.

@indy500fan: I don't think people really post on the darkwebz forums anymore, but there are still a couple of troopers using the #darkwebz IRC chatroom regularly... mostly dusqi, Tanya, landon, and rba! I think Jasper (aka Necro) and Ami (aka ForsakenMage I think) still stop in occasionally, too. (as do I).

Re: party hats: I've still been signing on about once a year to parade my party hats and make people around me jealous. "Wait, is that a party hat?!" I used to have a full set, but then one time I went into the Wilderness with 3 items (mithril body, legs, and blue party hat). (I don't know how the Wilderness works these days, but then, if you hadn't killed anyone you would keep your 3 best items). But then somehow while someone was attacking me I accidentally picked up some bones on the ground just before I died - and Runescape kept the bones instead of the party hat. So now I lost my favorite party hat! It was very sad. Oh well, still 5 left. To be honest, I'd probably try to sell them for real life money if they hadn't made it so hard to do :x I'm also tempted to just go into a crowded area in RS and drop them and watch the chaos that ensues.

PKer Dude Jr and Vaseline! Haven't thought about them in ages. Wonder what they're up to nowadays. Oh, vas... he was a funny guy.

Everybody hug and spread the love :D

Hai Wyrmy, Lead, Oregg (I still spell your name like the American lady pronounced it... I don't even remember who the American lady was now), MPM, 1 man army. Mad pretty much summed up my current life - PhD in the psychology of decision-making hopefully finishing around December (always good fun to have a laugh at the bad decisions that people make), and run an FB app that tests personality (also a good laugh :P ). Technically I never left tip.it, although I only post a few times a year.

I have found it fascinating to read about what people are doing nowadays!!

I'm also tempted to just go into a crowded area in RS and drop them and watch the chaos that ensues.

If you dropped them then they'd disappear :P Otherwise people could trade unfairly by dropping an item and having their friend pick it up.

Hey Dusqi my pommy friend, how goes it? So many old names, so little time... Congrats on the PhD (or soon to be PhD) - sounds really interesting. I enjoy staring at strangers and quietly judging them, so I think I should just apply for one of those PhDs over the internet. Once I tell them what I've been up to, the African People's University will definitely send me one.

Vaseline? He was a funny dude with an even funnier name. I don't know why but being a guy that name always made me chuckle. Someone find him.

Pker Dude Jr was a champion as well. I remember he gave me PK tips and explained prayer beasts to me when I created Pb_PK (Prayer Beast Player Killer, and also pb being the atomic symbol for lead... wow i'm so smrat...)

Herr Lipp on SA forums? Lol that definitely sounds like him. Miss that bloke too.

spender ackerman isn't paid to think atm hes paid to report and i can respect that. we both actually posted to makeoutclub.com - how weird is that?

we're not syndicated. to get on a syndicater you need to be in 2 of the top 10 major markets ALREADY. we can probably get boston and philly but thats awhile down. next week were getting on a new station that will open the door for more non-commercial stations.

we dont really plan on being nation we really want to organize pennsylvania. its part of a greater effort. sorta. hopefully.

Damn this is all a blast from the past. I almost forgot about how Bluerose ran Rune smithing when it first started. People were so desperate for Rune gear early on. Come to think about it, this is the first time in years that RS has even crossed my mind although I doubt my character is still available and if it is I doubt I'd remember the password for it.

Maybe I'm misremembering, but before runite came out, didn't Bluerose have a monopoly on adamantite and high-level mithril armor smithing, too? This might have been before they changed the smithing levels so that they would be more reasonable - there was a time (I think) where you had to have insanely high smithing levels to make even basic things, so smithing was extremely tedious because you couldn't make anything remotely useful as you leveled up.

Yeah that sounds about right to me. I remember she had to have loads of mule accounts to hold all her smithing stuff before the item bank. People used to be obsessed by Adamite and Runeite when it first came out, it's quite funny reflecting on that lol.
