What to kill for 99 Def? (99att+99str already)

I am 99 att, 99 str, 95 prayer, 75 Def.

 

I am going to get 99 Def but I would also like to get some charms while I train. I am already 90 Summ and have enough charms for 92 but I would like to have enough for 97 by the time Im done with def.

This may sound like not such a great idea but an alternative is to kill hill giants.

It'll be great if you have a cannon, and a bonecrusher - while they may be really easy to kill, they're one of the best charm droppers (especially at the low level).

Couple that with your 2-3 hit melee on them, and they'll be dead so fast, you wouldn't know what to do with them.

 

Although you can always find other monsters that are slightly stronger and wouldn't be such a waste of cannonballs.

 

Some other ideas are:

Greater Demons (great for dropping crimson, like one in three drops a crimson) and they have pretty low defense

I think you would be better training defense by it's self through slayer/AZ's and then camping waterfiends or bursting lobs for the required charms. I don't imagine it would be very efficient trying to do both at the same time, unless you were of course training it through slayer which is what I recommend. :thumbup:

You can try killing Dust Devils and Black Demons for charms, though Dust Devils aren't all that great melee exp and to kill Black Demons effectively you'll be using a cannon which is both expensive and will cut into your def exp/hr. Perhaps Abyssal Demons if you want a little cash, I'd recommend slayer overall though.

Waterfiends are 80k xp/hr (defence only) with no iron titan. Once you get 95 summoning the titan can put that over 110k defence xp/hr I think.

 

92-97 is a lot of xp, about 4m and thus requires around 10k crimsons (depending on how many other charms you get of course). At waterfiends that'd take you ~77 hrs, so about 6m defence xp. If you did 92-95 at the ancient cavern and 95-99 in the chaos tunnels you're looking at 2.2m xp then 4.3m xp (approx), say 5.5k and 10k crims approx. That's about 3.4m defence xp for the first batch and 6m for the second. So you could get 99 summoning in 9.4m defence xp. That leaves around 2m xp.

 

At 95 summoning you get the iron titan which trains defence pretty fast - I'd go for that. I'm not sure whether slaying for 95 then doing ct fiends, or aq fiends then slaying for 99 is best. Or an entirely different division.

Could you link me to a guide/setup for said gains? I can't imagine my method of killing waterfiends to be as good as you have stated.

Overload & turmoil, ss to heal. I use a unicorn to heal some overload damage as well. A fire cape is a little better, no overload a little worse etc. If you use extremes/saradoming sword/regular berserker ring I'd say 76k+ xp/hr is reasonable (e.g. up to 5% slower).

 

I use 3 overload - one unicorn - 10 pray pots for a one hour trip and I profit slightly. Using overload isn't really worth it of course but you won't lose much money.

The saradomin sword is nearly as good, just really annoying to soul split with imo as it's a bit inaccurate. But still ok, I'd say 2-3% slower max.
