Cheefoo
It's probably the most linear RPG I've ever played. And I've played Luminous Arc. -Snipped image-That was possibly the most meaningful post I have ever seen in four and a half years of being here. Nice one  Thanks! Care to explain how an MMORPG could possibly be linear? Ginger_Warrior
The whole game boils down to finding the most efficient (and no doubt, the most boring and stale) way of getting skillcapes, showing off to your mates, obtaining a fluttery feeling in your stomach which signifies some pride in an achievement hard worked for, finding that said feeling lasts for about seven seconds, and then finding another 99 to accomplish to get that feeling again. I realise that's a very generalised viewpoint, and a controversial one. Not that that really matters in truth, since the thread asks for what *I* find most annoying. Oh wait, I forgot. "It's an MMORPG" seems to be all the rage in strawman arguments these days. "It's an MMORPG" seems to be all the rage in strawman arguments these days. Silly me. I honestly don't see how that could be called "linear". The game allows you to do what you want in any order. I see a linear game as "start at level 1, complete that, go to level 2, complete that, go to level 3, do not pass go, do not collect 200$" I just don't see how you could make Runescape any less linear. What bothers me about Runescape is the constantly changing prices, and opportunities to train skills. One day you might buy the materials to get a higher level, and the next day a new update is released that makes it much easier to train, or the prices plummet, so you could have done it much easier if you waited. Or perhaps, there's some bonus xp weekend, or magical gloves that increase your xp gain. Whatever it is, it usually makes me feel regretful when I see that if I held off a little longer to train a skill or complete a goal, it could have been much, much easier. Dragonlordjl
People who fail at reading. I'm standing a few squares away from other players in W117 and nobody is on top of me. That's people trying to "scam" your assist. They assume since you have a good herblore, then you must have already bought cooking since it's so much cheaper (profits now, but yea). I guess for you since you don't have the level, you didn't need to worry about. But right now, the only skill I have on for assists is farming. I only turn the others on for friends. If you want make sure you get an assist in the right skill, just turn off all the ones you don't want. Figures, since the guy had a scumbag name (ooOIiioOoIiiOiOi or something like that involving o's and i's). I've also had it happen with smithing and farming, too. I'm with Cheefoo on this matter, each skill on its own is linear as you go through it in order. And directly related quest series (eg the 3 void knight quests) is linear as they have to be done in order. But the gmae as a whole is not as there is no 1 linear order to what you do. You can train any skill you like and do any quest you like (mostly) in any order you decide too Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
VoidRealm
Or people saying 'Fallz' to indicate to others to follow them. Instead of "Fall In", "Follow", or...to make it even shorter; "Fall". Why slap a "Z" on it?! Oh, also people who go out of their way to be a nuisance to others. I agree with the second one, never seen the first one, People going out of their way to be annoying, It's pointless, and creates a stereo-typical view in some players minds (not all players) of others.
