hi im pretty interested in dging w/ you guys until i get my 2nd chaotic, but I have 2 questions

1) Whenever someone says like flesh or locc for floors, do I have to do the whole set even if i did I part already/cant do some floors of that set, or will the leader see which ones we're all missing on the floor interface and choose that one?

2)Is skype absolutely essential? I see most dg parties use skype and normally everyone can use it and its favorable, but I can't use it as my parents think any voices from the internet is a killer and I hate to be a hassle so will this impair me greatly from joining teams?

Thanks!

It's more important to be able to listen, so just get some headphones.

1) The type of occult floor done is going to be the highest floor that the lowest level in the party can access. It doesn't matter if you've already done that set of floors as long as you are capable of doing a floor with that boss. If you only have low occults open and do a flesh floor, it will just tick off your highest undone occult and give experience as if you had done the floor it ticked off. If you only have thunderous floors open and do a lower floor, though, it'll give experience based on the lower floor, so it's best to try to do floors higher than what you have open rather than lower if you can help it.

Tl;dr you can join flesh floors as long as you have ANY occults open and have a high enough DG level to access fleshspoiler.

2) Most keyers don't require skype at all. Personally I require all members of floors I key to at least listen in so that it's easier for myself and the wingman to give orders and correct mistakes without slowing down the floor. You'll find that you're able to participate in floors much more easily and effectively if you grab some headphones and listen in, maybe tell your parents you're listening to music if they ask. If your parents are too smart for that, you're definitely still allowed in DGS, and it won't be a big deal generally. Hope you can work something out, as it really is 50x more fun to DG with skype in my opinion.

My first was also katagon chain haha, but only had it for about 5 minutes (of dungeoneering time) before I got my gauntlets.

i would like to be taken more seriously in dgs. im going to work up on my berserker ring, and get 70 rc to bind a surgebox and secondary bind an emp fire staff + blitzer.

should I come across a hood, I will throw away my staff without a second thought.

2 questions though: is the str ring really a requirement, cant i upgrade the accuracy melee ring instead?

and gorg b axe or gord 2h. (soonish gona get 90 attack for next tier)

Tactician ring isn't even remotely comparable to berserker- berserker is always significantly better at the same tier. Not only is it way worse for damage, but there's also only one accurate style on battleaxe and 2h- you can't use crush without using aggressive. So no, using tactician is not allowed.

The only time you'd get a battleaxe over a 2h is at the primal level before you can get primal 2h.

As for the staff bind, you'd probably be better off with a plate if you're hoodless. Everything will be tanking on you, and without armor you'd too often be spending more time healing and avoiding damage than attacking. You can try a staff bind if you like, but you will probably die a lot.

dam. but thanks.

i really want to go dunge with yall, but i just dont like the thought of useing a 2h, more so on str setting. it may not be the most efficent option but its what i would prefer. but i shal stick by your words.

Sorry. It's not to be mean or anything like that, but we're not going to let people use things that cut their ability to deal damage by 20% or more. It's not fair to others in the clan to allow someone to willfully hurt their team like that. I agree that tactician should be a viable option, but the way the game is designed makes it beyond useless.

The attack animation will look exactly the same. The difference will be that you'll kill stuff faster with berserker. Not really sure where the discrepancy is, honestly . . .

I assume he wants to train attack in dungeoneering.

I don't see why he would though, his str is lower than his attack

But yeah, save the attack/defense xp for outside of dung, like slayer.

it just sounds like he hasn't found a hood yet.

oh wait he has 3 binds, nevermind.

yeah he'd probably want to consider otherwise if he's just fresh to lvl 100 dg.

I'm only 89 mage, so staff bind isn't useful now (working on getting mage up though). And I key most of my floors, I was told that rapier is pretty useless for keyers. I have 94 attack, 90 defence, and prom 2h, so gauntlets wouldn't be as useful. Of course I'd bind a hex or blood neck if I ever got the chance, but it might be a while as I'm only 88 slayer. What do you recommend then over plate?

I'm considering buying membership on my account as school is out and I have loads of free time for the next few months. However, I want to know that DGS would be willing to regularly take my on teams before I waste £5 on membership, because the only reason I want members is to do P2P dungeoneering. :)

Dungeoneering: 79 (all F2P)

Combat: 73

Attack: 45

Strength: 75

Defence: 45

Hitpoints: 71

Ranged: 74

Prayer: 45

Magic: 70

I'm most likely going to bind a maul with the 70 strength requirement, as I don't wish to gain attack/defence levels. Other binds (2nd weapon/ammo) I will leave to you experienced dungeoneer'ers to decide. Obviously a SSH as soon as I come across it, and perhaps laws as my RC level is only 51.

I've been playing for 5 years altogether, 4+ years on my main account so I have a good understanding of RuneScape in general (if that helps). Positive attitude and willingness to learn are both my strong points, and the idea of rushing dungeons is far more interesting to me than to play slowly. I'm not bothered about dying often as I wouldn't want to be hiding outside of rooms and being afraid to die which would slow down the team. I ALWAYS put the teams best interests before mine.

Question: Can someone with my stats get into DGS teams often? Or shall I just not bother buying membership?

EDIT: Should mention I want to dungeoneer because I love the skill, not for rewards or any other reason.

You should try to get 70 rc for surgebox asap, and also level mage somewhat. In all likelyhood(assuming you'd have maul and csb) you will be taken into teams, but your stats and setup will still be less than effective, and most monsters will be very high level compared to you, thus it's worth consideration to train attack and strength to be more useful.
