Dragondan_Ro
But my modem, decides to shut off when I have my screen on. (Only if it is the screen that the stationary uses, not the one for the laptop(which is built in obviously)) I would not call it bad luck. Since every time I have the stationary turned on, with the screen, it usually affects the modem, and it stops giving net. (It says the DSL connection is down, though it obviously isn't) I have changed about everything about the stationary except the screen and it's still happening (Mainly because I got a new one just today.) The modem and screen gets their power from two completely different outputs. The screen I have is... Well, all it says is "Black View" The modem, a Speedtouch. If it makes a difference, I think it is an LCD screen. I have tested, and more or less the moment I take away the power for the screen, I get net back. (Even if the stationary computer is still on) Now. If anyone has a reasonable explanation to this, other than it being cursed, or possessed by a ghost/demon/leprechaun, then I would like to hear it. And if there is an easy way to fix this. (For example, change a setting on the modem) Give a man a lighter, and he will be warm for a while.Set a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life. jasignhagj
Burn it in holy fire. Seriously, other than the steps you tried, there is nothing I can think of...
Lord Diddy
The only thing I can think of is by some rare chance your monitor and modem run on the same frequency and cause an interference with one another. Put some distance between the two and see. Also give changing the refresh rate on the monitor a shot, changing it from 60 hz to 75 or vice-versa. Put that demon possessed modem in a bag with 50 lbs cement weights into a river.
obfuscator
Are you sure the modem and screen get their power from different outputs? Try flipping the breaker and see if they both go out (or just take an extension cord to a part of the house that you're sure is different). Kind of a last ditch thing, really weird problem... Guy
Hmm that's a strange one... Does your modem give out a wifi signal too? Try using the screen in another room.
