Did You Know...

Assume Nothing

Recommended Posts

As some of you are aware, there is a "Did you know..." section in the Tip It Times. I thought it would be a good idea to make a thread on it, for all Tifers to share trivial, yet helpful knowledge.

I'm not sure if this is the right section, so feel free to move my thread.

Current "Did You Know's" personally gathered so far (and some of them submitted):

[hide]Using items on a Beast of Burden would store things in it, helpful for storing drops during combat.

House Options pauses Overloads timer, good for waiting between spawns.

You can withdraw '1k' instead of '1,000', and '1m' instead of '1,000,000'.

Any Saradomin/Zamorak pet will count as a God item of that god.

Pernix/Torva/Virtus will count as all god items, making everything in Gwd unaggressive save the Bosses and their bodyguards.

You can gear up with your bank screen open; Click on the top right icon for the equipment screen.

Clicking on the fairy ring's code from your fairy ring history will automatically enter the code for you.

You can unlock your bank pin anywhere with House Options -> Building Mode.[/hide]

Post your own! :D

Did you know...

Revenants will always attack you with the style you have the least defence to? In f2p this is always magic, if you want to keep some decent defence.

Revenants heal at the same speed as your weapon hits? A higher hitting slower weapon is better if you have a lower strength level, as you have a better chance to ko!

To sum it up: best f2p rev gear is full d'hide and a r2h or g2h.

Did you know this was my first ever topic and was publicised on tip.it homepage? Got over 600 posts but this was before the forums were hacked and then changed so it's gone now, let's hope this one can do as well! :D

Can't remember many tbh

Slayerbelle - first to get 99 slayer with 10hp.

Renez is not only going for all 99s in one day, but keeping all his levels even til then! Look him up on hs ;)

Runescape used to be called Deviant Mud.

Did you know there uased to be black and white magic?

GoodMagic and EvilMagic*

There was also GoodPrayer and EvilPrayer

Slayerbelle was the first account to get Untrimmed Slayer cape. It was started by the account Villandra (13th person to achieve 99 slayer if I remember correctly). She then created the account Summonbelle to achieve untrimmed Summoning but stopped half way (forgot the reason). Eventually she did become the first Untrimmed Summoning cape owner in rs under the account Lorica. Finally she began the account Ellesbreyals to achieve her most difficult goal of 99 Slayer with 10 hp (Making over 2bil merching on the way with this account). Her latest goal now is an account called Stinkerbelle in which she will achieve 99 slayer with only melee keeping all other stats at level 1 and doing no quests.

Despite common misconception, Zezima lost his #1 ranking in rs for a brief period against N0valyfe.

Snake Slava was the first person to achieve 99 range in RS. He was briefly banned when Jagex mistaked his English-Russian translator as a bot. It was heard that he brought his computed to Jagex HQ in order to prove his innocence and started a brand new account called Snake Slavik and accomplished the same achievement of 99 range as the 2nd person in RS.

Lilyuffie88 accomplished an achievement that was considered next to impossible when she reached 99 prayer in 2004 briefly after the release of RS2. At the time 99 prayer was considered impossible due to the fact that you were not able to buy noted bones, there was no gilded altar and that there was no ectofunctus. Until RS2's release you had to buy your bones 29 at a time and bury them individually in order to train prayer.

During RSC and the beginning of RS2, fletching was considered one of the best money makers in RS. In fact, manufacturing skills did not become unprofitable until after the release of GE as well as Skill Capes.

To add: Lilyuffie88 had at one time more xp then zezima had (but zezima had more total levels)

When fighting abby demons, you can use the free air spell to "steal" a demon from across the room. There's a 90% change that the abby demon will teleport you to itself or the other way round. Pretty fun to jump across the room.

Did you know... that this is what we have the Tip.It Times DYK for? :P

Easier for you to pick one now =P

Did you know...there's an F2P deposit box in Port Sarim, right next to the Entrana monks? Useful for banking willows, yews, iron ores, and prior to the Stiles update, high leveled F2P fish.

And for anyone making a f2p pure or who is generally low leveled, banking bones while training on seagulls.

PM me in game anytime

It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet.

That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying.

In dungeoneering, right clicking the create gatestone spell reveals an option "cast now" which will automatically destroy your current gate, very handy for placing a new gatestone while under attack. It's surprising how many competent dungeoneers don't know this.

That the second level locator or higher from mobalizing armies can be used to teleport you to red dragon isle in the deep wilderness? Pkers tend to avoid the area because of lack of people but if you run to KBD lair or the deserted keeps lever and tele out its faster then using the red dragons in brimhaven. Some risk involved of course.

Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine! if you had this childhood and loved it put this in your signature!

No it wasn't

Andrew created DeviousMUD but never released it, it was then developed further and re-named to Runescape which was released.

DeviousMUD became Runescape.

Did you know...

Using a familiar while fighting the Giant Mole is useful? The familiar will face the direction the Giant Mole burrows and moves to!

Theres an easier way. If you right click attack on the mole just as he burries you will follow him to his new location.

Developed as in completely rewriting it and using a few elements from DeviousMUD.

DeviousMUD was more like an (unintended) experiment before making RuneScape.

@Mercifull: I was focused on the typo that I didn't realize he stated the fact wrong :)

Well -- unless you use a Brimhaven home telly and Karamja gloves telly, in which event Red Dragons don't take very long to get to in Brimhaven at all.

Nor do metal dragons for that matter ... :shades:

Actually didn't know this one, usually hug my monsters before casting. Ty!

Against the World-Gouger boss, the range prayer helps much more than praying mage? That is because the eye's attack that hits up to a 5x5 area and hits 500s is actually a range attack that can be completely protected by protect from range.

You do not need a gate stone to fight against Ya'klor the Thunderous. His special attacks will be fully protected as long as you walk behind the pillar. Therefore, faster and more experienced dungers can kill him faster than the gatestone method with the running method.

A bloodrager familiar is much better than Worldbearer/Skinweaver because of the special attack that lowers your opponent's defense. With 5 Sachem Bloodragers and everyone using special attacks, it is the equivalant of having 2-3 SWH specs on a boss monster. If a boss can not be reached by a bloodrager (Ex. Necrolord), a deathslinger is still a much better option as it can hit constant 100-200s on the boss.

The highest level door you can have in a dungeon is level 105, therefore, if you are lvl 94+ in all skills, you should be able to open every single door in a dungeon.

Primal Full Helm is the rarest item in dungeoneering and can only be obtained by beating the Skeleton Hoard boss on a 5:5 c6 map. However even on a large 5:5 c6 the chances of receiving a Primal Helm is still extremely small.

While c1 rushing, it is possible to kill Stomp by spam clicking him after the first form providing you have a team with all primal/prom 2h with near maxxed melee stats. If not you can still easily kill him after the 2nd form by spam clicking.

If your world crashes while you are in the middle of a dungeon you will lose your binds.

^It's possible to get a Primal full helm on lower complexities/team sizes, just much rarer.

When fighting a Warped Gulega, if you pray melee its tentacle attack (not the special) will always hit 0 and you have enough time to swap to range/mage prayer after the animation for its range/mage attacks starts. Assuming you aren't too slow, it is very easy to kill the Gulega without taking any damage at all, even without a bloodrager.
