Are you ready for new high level Slayer content?

High level Slayer content. It has been a long time coming... but now you can make a difference! Here is a quote taken from the Runescape forums confirming new slayer monsters, possibly a new slayer master, and filling in the high level gaps.

Q: "With the introduction of Dungeoneering a lot of benefits from Slayer, high level equipment and monsters, have become a bit redundant. Could you add something to make Slayer more attractive at high levels?"

A: We agree that there are some gaps in high level Slayer, so we are looking at plugging these gaps in the future with some new Slayer monsters and possibly a new Slayer master. When we get closer to the time of looking at this in more detail we will ask *you guys* to make some suggestions for us.

QFC: 74-75-748-62471247

So I ask you tipit'ers. Are you prepared? What would you like to see for high level Slayer content? Feel free to discuss this future update. Also, I have provided a template below if you would like to suggest a new slayer monster - who knows, Jagex might read this thread and consider them? :) Let's get discussing!

To get this thing rolling, here is what I would like to see as a future update to high level Slayer content:

Creature's name: Abyssal Queen

Combat Level: Around 450-650?

Slayer Level requirement: 99 (Would prefer level 99, but level 95 or 97 would be appropriate too)

Unique Drop/s: Abyssal whip, Harbinger hounskull (helmet), Harbinger plackart (platebody), Harbinger cuisse (legs), Harbinger gauntlets (gloves), Harbinger sabatons (boots), Abyssal queen head.

Location: Inside a lair, found by crawling through a fissure, south of the 'ALR' Abyssal plane

Items Required to Slay: None

New Item Design: Harbinger armour I imagine would be dark and spikey in appearance. I would like it to be alien/spider-like.

Monster's appearance: The head would have the same features of the current abyssal demon (eyes, mouth, colour etc.), but the shape of its head would be that of the alien from the alien vs. predator movie trilogy - elongated and extremely intimidating. Her body would have the structure and look of an ant/spider, only the back would be much, MUCH larger, sort of like the red back spider. Her legs would be beetle-like, almost like what the Kalphite Queen's legs used to look like before her graphic update.

Scenario: At half health there would be a cutscene of her calling upon her 3 Abyssal minions. These would be the Abyssal Myriad, Abyssal Legion, and Abyssal Sentinel. These creatures would detach themselves from the Abyssal Queen's shell on her back (sort of like in 'the mummy' movie where the skeletons come to life from off the walls) and would immediately become aggressive towards the nearby player/s. These Abyssal minions would need to be killed before attacking the Queen again. Should any player attack the queen while the minions are still alive, she will heal with each attack placed upon her.

Slayer is already fairly rich in content compared to some other skills. Any additions would be popular though, and would probably require a task to kill.

Also isn't that question/answer you quoted from AAAAAAGGGGGGES back from before aquanites, kuradel, dark beasts etc.

How could it considering dungeoneering just recently came out?

Dungeoneering came out almost a year ago,Ii wouldn't consider it a "recent" update.

Two things:

One, I'd REALLY like a slayer master than assigns mostly or exclusively boss monsters. Man that would be fun.

Two, I'd like a boss that requires a team of high level slayers to take down and drops something worthwhile. Like Nex with a 95 slayer requirement.

That skill is called dungeoneering.

You know the one where you don't kill anything and complain if your doing it for more than 20 minutes.

I would like to see soloable boss-like monsters that require a high slayer level and have untradable rewards.

Perhaps King/Queen/overgrown Strykewyrms of each type that live in underground tunnel systems? Would be nice if they were instanced too...

Yeah, I wouldn't want the boss to be assigned. Similar to how the avatars in soul wars or soulgazers in daemonheim require slayer levels but are not tasks.

They need to have several new slayer monsters for high levels, and they need to be new and original. I really don't want to see "Here's the update you've been waiting for!!!! THE LAVA STRYKWYRM!!!! Requires tome of frost and ice gloves in combination with water surge to kill it!" Sounds original huh? They need something that has other high requirements attached such as dungeoneering, and have the monsters lurking deep below the ground kind of like how TDS are.

The monsters need to require skill to kill, rather than just a pair of claws with ovl/turm/blah blah blah. They need to be similar to the way you fight Nex, where there may be several different stages, or atleast methods you have to use, so that they can better implement the combat triangle.

The monsters need to be campable. As long as they make these monsters atleast somewhat difficult, it wouldn't be too much of a problem seeing as people would need to eventually bank after killing a certain amount.

I co-op/clan slayer option incorporated with a new master would be nice to see also. Could spice things up with some new boss monsters that all have a slayer requirement to kill so you're not always being crashed as much.

That's just my opinion. Slayer is my favorite skill, and it just seems that lately it's not living up to it's name. I can't think of any task right now that begins to pose any threat at all. The thought of "slaying" something seems like it should at least be some sort of a challenge.

I'm surprised they're still thinking about slayer. I thought all the updates it got last year were more than enough to finally make it a decent skill.

I do think it's time for better boots though. Dragon boots have been the best for almost four years, and now they're roughly the same price rune were when GWD was released.

A skill (a harder one at that) that's content stops at 93 doesn't seem like it should be finished imo. Especially when you're lucky to even make a profit with it.

A monster that can be killed only if you have equipped:

- Facemask, Earmuffs and a Nose Peg

- Mirror Shield and Bug Lantern (yey for new useless slayer shield ?)

- Whichwood Icon

- Insulated boots

- Slayer Gloves

After analyzing the required equipment ... be prepared to kill a big, screaming, smelly bug with some sort of an electric attack  (cockroaches scream ... right ?)

Personally, I think it'd be a great opportunity to release some of that awesome armour players drew and sent in for the Player's Gallery a while back. Maybe high levelled Abyssal Creatures and Abyssal Armour?

I'd also say more Mage equipment. Nothing's wrong with some awesome Mage equipment.
