Well, supposedly I'd have advisors that live in the Hegemony world that could inform me of the differences. :P

The mod is the advisor... You ask him questions and he answers to the best of his ability.

Also again Retech

If you puppeted the whole of SA I would have declared war on you anyway, it would've put you too far in the lead and thus I would've tried to stop you. So if I destroyed your plans like that, you probably would have quit.

And where were you nerfed?

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

=P

They did tell you on several occasions how things work.

But I understand what you are saying...but if it was as simple as saying 'I want this, how do I do it? And what problems will that lead to, and how do I solve them?' Thanks, can you just repeat the last question each year and do the advised actions.'

Then its not terribly fun for anyone.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Care to explain your logic?

Oops, hadn't noticed the new budgets so I've been sitting around waiting for them. #-o

EDIT: Or rather, I didn't know that they were updated, not just exchanged for Euro.

€ 30,000,000,000 is spent on finishing repairs in Tokyo.

€ 400,000,000 is invested into Greenland (€ 314,285,714 was their GDP in 2001). (Yeah, they have their own government, they're just under the Danish queen, but she has virtually no power, even in Denmark.)

€ 4,200,000,000 is invested into Laos (€ 4,127,714,286 GDP in 2009).

€ 21,000,000,000 is invested into Burma (€ 20,506,285,714 GDP in 2009).

Also I have € 2,000,000,000 in leftovers from last budget.

And where were you nerfed?

That's not the point. A good war is always fun and dandy, and there is no guarentee that you would've won. The place I was nerfed was when I purchased planes for real life prices (100 million each), and then I find out that in the game, they are only 1/100th the cost. Naturally I ask for a refund, which is denied. Then I proceed to order the planes that I would've gotten (20 billion dollars worth of planes) and my economy crashes.

Then my Argentina plan is mis-interpreted to include bombing into Argentina, which was not the case.

Also, that is why I just left instead of going on my standard smash spree and hitting European nuclear reactors to gimp Europe. IT IS NOT BECAUSE MY PLANS FAILED. It is more that the rules weren't really hard rules and that I couldn't rely on anything but Archi's conception of the world, which again, is different from mine.

Also, I was not afraid of anything except events, because frankly, I would have had all of South America on my side. Now before you mention that your GDP was larger than South America's, just a reminder that military is a percentage of the owning nation's GDP. If I had not been gimped (again, subject to opinion), I would have had an estimated budget of 800 billion and a huge military, because I could just load up the soldiers in my puppets and not have to pay any upkeep.

I never quit because my plans have been ruined. I quit when I have been defeated (like game over defeated). When my plans get ruined, I take REVENGE. It's part of my philosophy of dragging down my enemies when I am going to be defeated regardless, much like the Balrog dragged down Gandalf into the pit. Though in my case, that would be general country wrecking and genocide.

Oh, and is there any way to peacfully annex a puppet state of yours?

From the stuff that Arch told me before, they will usually agree to join you after a few resets of things working out.

There is no reason to have a puppet state join you unless you are planning to take a huge hit to prestige, because their GDP is worth so much more as investment.

I dunno Retech, you just sound like a sore loser to me..

Also, I think if you overloaded your puppets with an unbelieveable large amount of soldiers, they probably would have risen up, remember that increases tax rate, which means their tax rate increases. Which means their people get pissed off, which means they'll have revolts. If you just start killing off the revolts, other countries would barge in and take you down. It would NEVER of worked in the first place.

If your vision of the world is that as long as it doesn't directly effect you, it wont ever effect you. Then you probably will want to change that.

Also, oh well about paying extra amounts for real life stuff, I purchased a ton of real life stuff and I paid extra, it's not like it was MASSIVELY different, and if it was, then you shouldn't of had such a large military.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I have already said what I have had to say about the situation, so instead of trying to hound me and judge me for a situation that you clearly don't understand, you can just go back to play the game. I can accept when I've been defeated, but that was not why I quit, because I was not even close to a state where I was defeated.

Edit: They don't censor the word jackass anymore.

Fine, I'll stop going about it, I'm sorry.

Thank you, and I'm sorry I might have gone a bit overboard with the anger thing. I'm stubborn and defensively like that, and being sick does not help matters. :)

Pretty much given up.

Hegemony's day is passing, people are not interested in smash and grab games, but when something is too complicated they aren't interested either.

Having a mod is a necessity, but no one is ever happy with the cards they are dealt.

Its kinda realistic...people don't stay in control of a country forever, and where mistakes make a country unrunable...

But in a game you don't want to be stopped by anything, you just want everything to go your way.

The game is too long to not be invested, and the turns are too short to get involved.

Inevitably people disagree over issues.

So yes, Hegemony's day is passed, for me at least. I join those such as Ross and Nex who remember the good old days, but know that there will never be a return to them...you cannot walk twice into the same river.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I think Nex only played one more recent hegemony, maybe more if including the ones set in the far past.

And you more than certainly can walk into the same river over again, you just need a blindfold or a really bad memory.

And this game was running smoothly, maybe not at all similiar to the original way or even V2, but that's not because of how we are enjoying it, rather how it is set up. Only once has the old one been replicated, sadly with next to no interrest even from the very beginning.

We can be sure to know, more hegemonies will rise, and some of them will last longer than this.
