Pikmin 2, good call.

Gamecube controllers were still being made as of a year ago, but they don't feature a Nintendo logo any more so it must be an independent manufacturer who gained the rights off Nintendo. I believe they still go new on eBay. Got two for SSBB last year and they work fine, if anyone needs more controllers.

I play GC games on the Wii from time to time. Rogue Leader/Strike, Tales of Symphonia, the Prime series. Wind Waker remains my second favourite Zelda game (behind Majora's Mask). Double Dash of course, but F-Zero trumps it because I once held a national record for one of the mission tracks. SSBM remains the favourite game in the Smash community. Colosseum gives me hope that something thicker than Battle Revolution is awaiting the Wii for Pokemon.

Ahh... when the big games weren't ubiquitously FPSs and no-one cared about online stats or K/D spreads. The most competitive it got was a Melee game between friends and Mario Kart time trials over a dedicated Internet fansite. Them be the days. :shades:

How dare you forget Super Smash Bros Melee?!
Also Tales of Symphonia. First JRPG game I played and it got me hooked
Oh I had some good time with that little box.
My GameCube is collecting dust next to the Ps3/Wii.
Everything still works perfectly.
I also have 6 controllers, since they gone off the market.
2 Wavebirds and 4 purple originals.

So many memories. <3

Proud owner of the following skillcapes: Defence, Hitpoints, Strength, Attack, Magic, Summoning, Ranged, Slayer, Prayer and Herblore.
I drift in and out, trying some update that interests me.

Yeah, SSBmelee was the [cabbage] back in the day.

But THE gamecube game was Metroid Prime, closely followed by WW and Ikaruga. Man, that magmoor caverns theme is still in my head.

Well, metroid prime/prime2/windwaker were the top 3 games for the gamecube period. I still remember when they released those games 7 years ago, and I bought the 'bonus versions' of the games for the same price as the originals (bonus versions being around 40bucks more in price). Bonus versions of prime/prime2 came with posters of all the 'major bosses' of the respected games. Bonus version of windwaker that I picked up came with a 6inch figurine of toon-link, a poster featuring link/the pirates, a t-shirt featuring the triforce on the back, with the front having the windwaker logo. Oh, and it also came with a voucher to save 25bucks off a nintendo power subscribtion.

No love for the Phendrana theme?

Phendrana was great, but i think the reason it didn't get stuck in my head was the lack of Phendrana in End Game. You'd Visit it once for the artifacts and that was it.

Plus, just listen!

That coir is amazing.

Phendrana scared me the first time I played through it. It had that mix of 'outside nature/peaceful relaxation' mixed with 'hidden alcoves/go indoors and they'll kill you'. Not many games have that mix, and I think for many people new to the series, it plays off them a bit.

I love the GC, my friends came over last night and that was the only actual console that we used. It's games are still fun... We played Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour.

Well, it'd take a pretty terrible musician to make the Magmoor Caverns theme into something that isn't awesome, considering that it's a remix from Super Metroid's theme for Lower Norfair which is pretty awesome in its own right. That said, the Phendrana theme's pretty cool too, love the piano in it. Credits theme is also really memorable.

Fun to see Ikaruga mentioned here, thought it was relatively unknown. I picked it up the other day, it's a pretty badass game. Heard it's available for cheaps on Xbox Live nowadays with fancy HD graphics, too.

And to introduce a new game to this topic, I thought that Paper Mario & The 1000 Year Door was really enjoyable. Considering the cartoony graphics style, Rogueport's still pretty atmospheric.

My gamecube is still hanging around here somewhere, but I use the Wii to play the games from it now. Double Dash gave me countless hours of entertainment, more than any other Mario Kart, I think. And 007 Nightfire was my main game for a long time, too. It was also the third game I had for the system (behind Sunshine and NHL 2K3).

Paper mario 2, ah, the memories. Amazing how 1 game changed my perspective of life, and all other video games. Pm2 was the black sheep of the mario family in that it had tougher bosses, a dungeon which gave access to some of the (cheap) best badges/items in the game, and it had a trio of obscenely-huge dragons which were all pretty hilarious in their own right. I actually remember the first time I played through it, thought that sheer force would work/badges were stupid. Ended up failing when I hit the train (as I kept dieing at the smoooooooorg). Next time I played through it, I spent 2 hours looking through every little detail/badge I could see in the game. Managed to beat the game (albeit, with a total time spent of 84hours). Was the first time that I used strategy/logic, and it changed me forever...

Meh, I'm gonna turn mine on next week for windwaker (to continue on my retro-zelda month). Weird though, as nowadays, I only use my ps2 as a cd player.

Luigi becomes a Ghostbuster, yeah. That game was pretty fun, but Double Dash was still my favourite. SSBB was fun, though.
