Demoli
Phendrana was great, but i think the reason it didn't get stuck in my head was the lack of Phendrana in End Game. You'd Visit it once for the artifacts and that was it. Plus, just listen! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQCZIb0fbt8 That coir is amazing.
foursideking
Phendrana scared me the first time I played through it. It had that mix of 'outside nature/peaceful relaxation' mixed with 'hidden alcoves/go indoors and they'll kill you'. Not many games have that mix, and I think for many people new to the series, it plays off them a bit.

indy500fan
I love the GC, my friends came over last night and that was the only actual console that we used. It's games are still fun... We played Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour.
All_Bogs
Well, it'd take a pretty terrible musician to make the Magmoor Caverns theme into something that isn't awesome, considering that it's a remix from Super Metroid's which is pretty awesome in its own right. That said, the Phendrana theme's pretty cool too, love the piano in it. Credits theme is also really memorable. Fun to see Ikaruga mentioned here, thought it was relatively unknown. I picked it up the other day, it's a pretty badass game. Heard it's available for cheaps on Xbox Live nowadays with fancy HD graphics, too. And to introduce a new game to this topic, I thought that Paper Mario & The 1000 Year Door was really enjoyable. Considering the cartoony graphics style, Rogueport's still pretty atmospheric. unkn0wnwarrior
My gamecube is still hanging around here somewhere, but I use the Wii to play the games from it now. Double Dash gave me countless hours of entertainment, more than any other Mario Kart, I think. And 007 Nightfire was my main game for a long time, too. It was also the third game I had for the system (behind Sunshine and NHL 2K3).
foursideking
Paper mario 2, ah, the memories. Amazing how 1 game changed my perspective of life, and all other video games. Pm2 was the black sheep of the mario family in that it had tougher bosses, a dungeon which gave access to some of the (cheap) best badges/items in the game, and it had a trio of obscenely-huge dragons which were all pretty hilarious in their own right. I actually remember the first time I played through it, thought that sheer force would work/badges were stupid. Ended up failing when I hit the train (as I kept dieing at the smoooooooorg). Next time I played through it, I spent 2 hours looking through every little detail/badge I could see in the game. Managed to beat the game (albeit, with a total time spent of 84hours). Was the first time that I used strategy/logic, and it changed me forever...

Jackie_Clay
My two favorite games for the GCN: -Tales of Symphonia-Skies of Arcadia I have been looking to get another copy of Skies of Arcadia because it is such a good game that is extremely underrated and was largely forgotten, but come on. All you have to know about the game before you play it is that it is about pirates in the sky. Sky pirates, what's not to love? "I think that if the devil doesn't exist, then man has created him. Necromagus
One of my favourite games that I haven't seen mentioned in this thread yet is SSX 3. I loved the mechanic where in stead of separate courses, the game basically took place on a giant mountain that you unlocked in three stages. Once the whole mountain was unlocked, you could basically take a helicopter all the way to the top of the mountain, and ride it all the way down to the city at the bottom. The higher up the mountain you got, the more rugged the landscape became, with chasms and deadfalls pretty much everywhere. The controls were great too, very easy to pick up on for someone who never played the game before. The game featured great art direction, with most courses being outlined with bright neon lights and colourful customizable characters. Hakaan
I'm thinking about selling my gamecube (with a gameboy adapter on the bottom) because I have no use for it since I got a Wii. But playing those early-2000 GC games gives me nostalgia... Come support my max total goal here. Briobe122's 10-step guide to staking:1. Get cleaned2. Vow to never stake ever again! Buzzcut3
I still remember the day I bought Star Fox Adventures and Metroid Prime for 30 dollars (was a buy one, get the other half off deal). Best deal ever. Both amazingly fun games. I had fun with my Gamecube, but the controllers have a pretty terrible life. One of my control sticks was wearing out after less than a year on one of them, when I had my PS2 first and the controller still works to this day.
