Cowman_133
Hey folks, We have recently released a new method of listing drops on our Bestiary: http://www.tip.it/runescape/?rs2monster Click on any monster that drops items to see how the new system looks and works. If you click an item, it will take you to the items database entry on the item. Monsters that drop said item will also now appear in the Items Database similar to how Shops show up in items database entries with links to the shops database. Please let us know of any feedback you have on this new system, design, looks, features - anything you have to say about it we'd like to hear! This is not our final product and there is room for some flexibility based on your feedback. :) Cheers, Cowman_133Tip.It Crew Leader
Baffler
From the five minutes I just spent browsing it, it looks pretty good and I find it fairly easy to use. One thing I noticed was that when you hovered your mouse above items like 'herb' or 'uncut gem', you wouldn't get a picture to the left of the screen underneath 'drops' (as you do with other items). I would imagine this is because 'herb' or 'uncut gem' isn't acutally an item ingame, but when the white square with the red x appears in place of the items picture it does look a little tacky. Not sure if there is an easy fix for that or not, but make of it what you want.

Xena_Dragon
'herb' and 'uncut gem' are an item group and those have not been assigned an image (yet). I've added this to the to-do list.
essiw
Ok, first I want to say that this is a great update, well done guys :) But there are a few things that could be improved: 1) The yellow is hurting my eyes, remember that not everyone has the same monitor, the same color/lightness preferences and the same brightness preferences. You should pick a better yellow colour. for example #d6ca00 would do better.2) Delete the underline of the hyperlinks, there is no need for them as all items are now linked, it makes it horrible to read.3) Make the numbers yellow to, why are they left being white?4) Don't show broken picture links. (the picture of the item that is showing when you hover your cursor on an item), like herbs, gems, herb seeds. They do not link to a specific item and give a broken image (the famous red cross on windows and a blue question mark on mac).5) Not sure if this is possible: Remove the number at the pictures at stackable items, as they are confusing when something drops 30 fire runes and you see a fire rune with an one on it. Keep on the good work guys! :) Btw,I would love to see the same thing happen to the item database :) I hope that is possible to do. http://sign.tip.it/1/2/79/260/essiw.png Retired item crew I would like to be credited as essiw at the website update & corrections forum. Xena_Dragon
Thanks for your feedback  1) Color tweaking is on the to-do list, depending on user feedback. 2) This will also depend on user feedback. Some people prefer to always see which text is a hyperlink, others don't. 3) Only the item names are hyperlinks, since we link to the items database. Also, making all text and drop info have the same layout will make the drops section look like a wall of text. But, once again, user feedback will make the final decision :)4) See my previous post. This will be fixed. 5) Doable, but not a high-priority update. I would love to see the same thing happen to the item databaseYou did already see that the items database now links back to the monsters that drop an item? I too wanted to suggest a more natural colour for the members' items. The item groups is a good idea, I would suggest making those a different colour too, or making it clear in some other way that this concerns an item group rather than an individual item. Also, charms can be made into an item group too. AwF_Suir1 in-gameClick here to read about RuneScape Must-Haves!

onedaysoon
Just out of curiosity, will this thread also be a place to submit any drops that have not yet been put on the tables? Because even within six or so monsters I noticed a lot of drops were missing.

MPM
Nice work Xena/peter(based on the code I think it's xena). This has been long overdue. I have a couple of suggestions. 1: Remove the current item groups. There are monsters that can drop multiple herbs for example. I'd like to know that the monster I'm killing can drop 2 rannarrs at a time. 2: Add a new item group function. Going off of the herbs example, there are some monsters that drop more than one type of herb or item in the standard drop table. When you hover over one item in the group, it should make the other items in the group more visible somehow. Bold maybe? 3: Switch the item image to a tooltip, like on the item index. I'm very easily distracted. I noticed when I moused over an item, the image appeared in the header box. Then, I forgot what item I was wanting to click the link for because I had to move my gaze away from the list too much. If you do #2, I don't know how possible this will be, because the tooltip might cover up an item group. There is a javascript object called offsetParent that you could use to check the position of the other links. I checked to see how far backwards compatible it is, and it looks like browsers made after 2006 should handle it without a problem. 4: essiw brought up images that don't exist. I'd suggest a php script that checks to see if the image exists, then displays either it or a "missing image" image. This would be useful if you have a .png of the item uploaded instead of the .gif. 5: Items that are dropped only in members worlds should be listed as members drops. A unicorn is a members only monster, so I'd expect all of it's drops to be members only. I don't know if there are any monsters that drop specific f2p items only on members worlds, so you would probably be safe checking the monster's p2p status. ~M

essiw
I would like to thank the crew for the awesome work done with this recent update :DOne little thing that would make it better to read: If you chose to keep the underline at the hyperlinks then switch the colours to have the coloured underline as inactive underline and the white underline so that when you hover the coloured underline changed to a white one. This would make it easier to read and it would also create the effect needed (as you want someone to see the colour change when it hovers on a hyperlink, now you don't see it because it is the same colour as the text when it changes) http://sign.tip.it/1/2/79/260/essiw.png Retired item crew I would like to be credited as essiw at the website update & corrections forum. essiw
an other thing to add. When I hover on an item I see the item, great, but when I move my mouse off the link, I see (for half of a second) a white square as big as the pictures are. Can this be fixed? thanks :D http://sign.tip.it/1/2/79/260/essiw.png Retired item crew I would like to be credited as essiw at the website update & corrections forum. Thanks! Neohero1972
Hi I pretty much agree with all of @essiw's suggestions for improvements to the looks of the Item Database. However, I would really appreciate if the underlinings were removed as I find them very annoying to look at. 1. underlinings should only be visible when the mouse pointer hovers above it 2. underlining should only be permanently visible when one wishes to emphasize a word or sentence ! But I do like the color of the text as I find it very pleasing to my eyes when I read it off my screen. Adventurer's Log for Neohero1972
