Dark Beast Slayer Tasks

Where/How to kill them most efficiently?

You need to cannon to get the best kill rates.

What you actually want to do is use the temple of light area, highlighted in axemanjack's slayer guide.

The trick is to use a low population world, since it's single combat and you actually don't want the dark beasts respawning too quickly.

Kuradal's dungeon using fero ring, protect melee and turmoil is what I do. I'm not totally sure whether cannoning them in the path of light is better; I can say for sure it's a lot less afk. The nice thing about dark beasts is that you can turn on auto retaliate and do nothing for a few minutes at a time.

Cannoning is about 10k xp/hour faster. And by saying that you're going against one of the points made in the sticky.

AFKability is a big part of efficiency. Say I have a choice between writing an essay without playing RS and writing an essay and doing something on RS at the same time- which is more efficient?

It may be efficient in terms of RL time, but not in terms of rs time which is what this forum is about. Even using a cannon is pretty afk if you are only picking up blue/crimson charms since you just stand under your cannon and the monsters come to you. As grimy says this works best on a low population server.

Source? Or are you making up your own rules? I prefer to take everything into account when I decide what the most effective method to attain a goal, because otherwise I spend less time online and get less done overall. By any meaningful definition of efficiency, the way that gets the most done is the most efficient.

Your method is obviously also efficient, depending on the surrounding circumstances. That doesn't mean you get to dismiss every other method.

I don't see anything on there about whether efficiency includes being efficient with RL time.

Dark beasts are the only slayer task where I choose the slower method (Kuradal's dungeon), over the faster method (Temple of light with cannon).

It is faster to use cannon, but dark beasts are a really nice afk task to just stand there in Kuradal's and fight back.

Even better than kuradels use Temple of Light anyway (without a cannon) for 0 competition if you wish to AFK nicely.
