Juju Farming potions

I've seen many posts about "Oh, you want to make money, do farm runs, dailies, and flip!". I fail miserably at flipping, making a mere ~1500k an hour, hardly worth it considering I can AFK frosts for 2000k+ an hour. I don't do any dailies simply because I've never bothered to find out which are worth doing, nor do I care THAT much, unless it really is 1m per day, for a measly 10-15 minutes. Lastly, I've never done a herb run in my life, but I'd like to start, seeing as it's extremely easy, fast, a smidgen of exp, and of course, it brings in a good 1m+ a day for little to no work.

So my two biggest concerns are herb runs and dailies, and my only problem with dailies is: Which are worth doing, and what's the generally accepted 'best' path to take when doing them.

This leaves farming, and the only thing I'm missing is a route, inventory, what herb to farm at 70 farming for the greatest profit, and those pesky Juju potions.

I'm sure I can figure out the inventory/route on my own, but a suggested one would be appreciated! Now, onto the Juju's. I'm completely new to them, and I'm unfamiliar with the 'best' method to collect Ugune's and Marble vine. Also, I've read a bit into it, and it seems I need to have a few things planted inside the Juju farming area to attract the correct Jadinko type(s)? I've talked to someone about it, and since I'm only 78 hunter at the moment, they suggested Common's until I hit 80 hunter, then switch over to draconic? (I may have misunderstood, I believe that the draconic are of the more 'uncommon' types, and only appear every so often?).

Basically, I'm looking for what to plant to attract what, how exactly do I catch them (Exactly like Chins?), and what Vines/seeds do I need to look out for other then Ugune and Marble?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Juju mining potions (Samadem and Draconic vine) are the only other potion worth making? If so, what Jadinko's can I expect to drop Samadem seeds, I'll assume the (once again, assumed) occasional Draconic Jadinko?

That's all I really need help with right now, and thanks in advance for any help!

For flipping - you don't necessarily have to be at the GE the whole time.

Sometimes, try for goods that don't flip instantly (or do something like high alch or fletch to gain exp during the off time)

You could always put in a buy order, wait a couple of hours.

Take the item - put it on sell and buy more.

That's what I do when I go train my other skills and it works like a charm.

In reference to hunting Jadinko. - it's not so much as you described.

You basically create an environment which is tailored to a specific Jadinko.

It's not that one Jadinko is any more rare then another - the getting of the necessary seeds to create the environment may be a hassle.

For now, you just need a ton of seeds (of all kinds) so go grab a artic bear (make sure to bring something that you can do like fletch arrows or high alch while waiting for some of the traps to set off. (It can be slow at first).

Collect all the seeds you can and then start working on creating other "habitats" (a.k.a environments) where other Jadinkos will appear.

It's one of those things that is hard to explain - but once you start doing it, it makes tons of sense.

How much time would it take to get a reasonable amount of juju farming potions? How long would it take, if ever, for the extra herbs from juju's to make up for the opportunity cost of not getting 2m+/h at frosts, at the # of hours spent doing this mingame?

Depends on luck. 1-3 ugene seeds in an hour is pretty normal, I've had 5 hour dry streaks before and I've also gotten 7 in an hour. The opportunity cost lost is only large if you don't need any hunter exp at all and if the other jujus are of no use to you at all. Even then its not that large. Say pessimistically you get 1 ugene seed in an hour.

That seed will average 8.8 herbs. With a scroll of cleansing this will get you about 11 juju's. Those juju's will cover 33 herb runs.

Costs of herbs/seeds in the example below are for demonstration purposes.

Now, say snapdragons are 10 k each and the seeds are 46 k each. With an average of 6.6 herbs per patch (without jujus) you will net ~140 k profit per run (assuming you use a scroll of cleansing for additional profit, without it this drops to 100 k per run). With juju's this average jumps to 8.8 herbs per patch or 260 k profit per run (210 without scroll of cleansing). Over the course of your 33 herb runs (3.5 min each if done correctly) you will make 3.960 mil more profit than if you did not have juju's over the course of your 115.5 minutes of work farming. So in essence it values your time at almost exactly 2 mil an hour.

TLDR: its worth doing it.

I'd say in about an hour or so of the whole minigame you could get around 2 or 3 of the seeds required for the juju farming potions, this would give you about 20-25 herbs, this is 60-75 doses of juju farming potions or 60-75 runs each dose giving around 10-15 extra herbs per run. 60*10=600 more herbs for 1 hour of your time to get the potions. If doing torstols this is an extra 23m. This mini game is also the fastest hunter xp in the game so I wouldn't really consider this time wasted.

+ I'm pretty sure you won't even profit from Torstols without this potion.

The scroll of life is also worth getting, it takes 2 hours max to get the tokens required for it and I've already "made" around 10m from mine, just from getting back torstol seeds from herb runs.

I use torstols as an example as I have the most experience with these and they are the most profitable, with something like snapdragons the profit is considerably less and I would really recommend getting 85 farming for torstols as they can be up to 800k profit/run, depending on herb and seed prices.

I'm sure I can figure out the inventory/route on my own, but a suggested one would be appreciated!

Here's my suggested, and a fairly common, route:

  1. My Arm's/Trollheim patch
  2. Port Phasmatys
  3. Falador cabbage patch
  4. Ardougne
  5. Catherby

BEFORE you take a sip of your Juju farming potion, teleport (or tab) to Trollheim and run to My Arm's herb patch. Once you are at the herb patch and ready to go, THEN take a sip of your Juju potion. If you take a sip of the Juju potion before you are at the My Arm patch, it is VERY difficult to hit up all five patches within the alloted time, especially if you get large yields.

If you don't have access to, or don't use, the Trollheim patch, then of course you can start at any of the patches, really.

An Ectophial and Explorer's ring are suggested as teleports to the Port Phasmatys and Falador patches, respectively.

(In my humble opinion) Being on Lunar magicks is suggested if you are "serious" about Farming. Reasons for playing on Lunars include:

  • Fishing Guild Teleport (for Ardougne patch)
  • Catherby Teleport
  • Plant Cure
  • Fertile Soil

Fertile Soil is incredibly useful due to the fact that you can cast it before OR after you plant a seed in a patch, whereas with using buckets of supercompost/compost, you cannot compost after planting a seed should you happen to forget to.

[hide=My Inventory/Setup]farming_stuff.png

Mystic mud staff - Acts as unlimited Water and Earth runes when equipped

Amulet of nature - Bound to the last patch of my herb run (Catherby) so when it "rings" and tells me my herb is grown, I know I can do another run.

Falador shield 3 (2+ works) - Grants more Farming XP if equipped when harvesting at the Falador patch

Explorer's ring 4 (3+ works) - Unlimited free teleports to Falador patch

** You may wish to wear Boots of lightness and/or a Spotted/Spottier cape in order to reduce your weight, but I don't have any issues with running out of Run Energy.

** You may wish to wear the Ardougne cloak 2+ in order to use the teleport to the Ardougne patch.

x200 Astral, Nature and Law runes - Fertile Soil/Plant Cure and teleporting

x2 Fire and Cosmic runes - Cosmics are for Spellbook swap, Fires are for teleporting to Trollheim

Ectophial - Teleport to Port Phasmatys

Spade and Seed dibber - Planting seeds

Magic secatures - Increased yields when equipped

Juju farming potion

x5 Herb seeds

** 200 of each rune is actually overdoing it. I just got in the habit of using this many back when I was doing herbs, allotments and trees all at once.

** I bring a Ring of Duelling with me because I harvest Cactus spines before I start my herb run. You can omit the Ring if you don't harvest spines.[/hide]
