Could any computer know hows please let me know what you think of this comp I'm seriously thinking about purchasing. I want it for playing games, video editing and just generall awesomeness.

Seems pretty beast but I don't know much about computer specs. The graphics card is a GTX 580 and I'm told that's important so is that any good? Not sure if the motherboard has a PCIe slot but no need if it's decent.

I just wanna run it past you guys as I'm going to have to pay more money for two big screens cause I wanna split screen it up so I can play my video games and edit/work at the same time so I'd like to make sure it's worth the money that could be spent elsewhere like on shoes and handbags. :L But yeah, I do want a beast computer that will last for ages and be high performance.

Honest thoughts and oppinions would be much appreciated!

Edit: PS please dont be too technical with me because I won't understand a word of it. >_>

The parts for that machine are roughly 1645.50 AUS and he's requesting you pay an additional $1000 on top of it. On a model that doesn't even include an operating system (like Linux or Windows 7), that you would have to pay a fortune to ship.

Personally, I think it'd be way overkill for your average gaming pc. I can't imagine paying anything more than 1,000 AUS and not having it last for at least 6 years without problems at least. Building your own machine will always save you money, but if you have to go pre-built, be sure not to be swayed by fancy wording like "FASTEST CARD ON THE MARKET"--that just usually means the technology is so new it's not viable to buy.

What are the sort of games you're looking to play, exactly?

EDIT: I also am not extremely tech-savvy, but I know enough to think that guy is taking people to market.

Thank you! :) I noticed it didn't come with an operating system and found that kinda unfair so it's not exactly 'ready to use' is it? It's easy to lose track of info like that when it's so jammed packed with specs.

The problem is if I get somebody to build my own machine I won't know what to buy for parts so I see buying a pre built 'ready to use-ish' one so much less grief as I honestly don't know much about computers nor do I know anyone irl who builds them. I've had bad experiences at computer shops because I'm a girl who doesn't know jack about comps lol.

http://shop.ebay.com.au/oztac/m.html?_trksid=p4340.l2562 here is their full list of comps for sale. Even the cheaper ones at about 1k you don't think are worth the price? I'm looking to get back into my shooting games like COD, Battlefield, counterstrike etc and asking my friends which games are good that I should try out because it's been ages and I'm so out of the loop because my current computer isn't capable. Also looking to play hon/dota but that doesn't require much. I don't want an average computer. :)

Edit: Ouch about the 1k overprice I can see why it'd be a bit overpriced because of ebay fees the more expensive something is the higher the % they take + time spent making it. Do you happen to know any websites where you 'build' your pc and see what price it comes up at?

The cost of this if you brought the parts yourself from PC Case Gear would be:

2048 + 10% GST so roughly

$2300.

The price isnt too bad but he's charging $300 labour to build it. Obvously he's got to make avenue for it otherwise he's not making money so it is cheaper to build yourself if you know what you're doing, if not it is an ok buy.

That's without Windows 7 mind you. Try and include a deal for say $200 for Windows 7 and install since its $300 labour and make sure he instals 64 BIT! Otherwise it'll only read 4GB RAM and waste 12GB.

If you're looking to buy a good gaming PC that you wont need to update for a while in AUS you will be looking at about $1700-2100 for a very stable, good rig. I payed $1800 for mine, mind you I knew exactly what to buy and snuffed it out so I saved myself a good few hundred.

$300 seems fine, he's gotta make money and that's cool. If I buy windows 7 it will be installed by him. It costs between $100-215 for windows 7 and they're all 64 bit. Is it worth buying the 'ultimate' one lol? Here they are: http://stores.ebay.com.au/OZTAC-SOLUTIONS/Windows-Operating-Systems-/_i.html?_fsub=2025169013 there is 3 different types.

You don't need Windows 7 ultimate - windows 7 hope premium will do you absolutely fine. That PC you posted in your OP is a ripoff, and anyway the specs are all muddled (why on earth do you need 16GB of ram, and its an i7 2600 as opposed to the k version, wth?) You probably don't need an SSD, you're being sold tonnes of stuff you don't need. For such a good CPU you would have thought they would include a half decent cooler. I would not advise going for that computer - you're getting way more than you need. On pcmarket.com.au I quickly built a very nice computer for 1.8k. Thats $800 cheaper and better value for money (4GB RAM, 6950, i5 2500k w/corsair h60, asus p67motherboard, antec psu, wd black 2tb, standard dvd burner, thermaltake case).

If you want ultimate value for money, then building your own computer is definately the way to go. I don't think you'll be comfortable doing that though.

RIP TET

Yeah I'm certainly not comfortable building my own or know anybody who knows how.

I checked out pcmarket.com.au and went to the build to order computer and was thrown off by first option! :( I have absolutley no idea what any of this means. I don't know how computers work and their specs I just want a beastly computer that will do the distance and stay great for years to come. I do alot of video editing which has rather large files and store it all so thought the big memory would be handy. :)

Like guy said, it is a good rig, but unless your doing EXTREME graphics or competitions, you wont need it. If you lived nereby to Newcastle I'd easily be able to help build one.
