Book of law?

Recommended Posts

Since the zammy book costs alot. I was thinking for slayer I get the armadyl book. Its the cheapest of the god books and i can use it while i range slay (I REALLY need range) since atm i dont use anything in the range shield slot.

Ideas?

Nope, you should save and get the zammy book.

Here is why, the books cannot be resold. So, for example, if you ever decide to upgrade to a zammy book you have actually lost the cash you spend on the book of law. Since you won't use it anymore that cash was totally wasted. However, if you simply save for a zammy book then in the long run you will actually save the money you could have wasted on the book of law.

Suck it up, it's only a few hours of moneymaking but you will actually save cash in the long run.

Edit: Checked the price and it's more expensive then I remember. Either way totally worth it as you will have it forever. Save and get the zammy book.

I'd say get the zamorak book while it's still cheap(Hey, 20M is better then 25M).

On another note, don't you actually have to complete the first 3 god books before you can start the other 3? Or was that changed?

I wouldn't bother with the unholy book myself. It is nigh useless, at any place where you would be using ccbow + unholy book handcannons and Karil's crossbow are superior except at Nex. At Nex I would go for an eagle-eye kite or elysian/divine really.

That also goes for the book of law but due to the lower price I guess it's more viable as a cosmetic item.

Took another look at your original question. If you need range exp then just powerslay with a cannon, you should get very good range exp without actually using range primarily. You could even optimize your tasklist to skip/block non-cannon tasks.

I would say that, but the Zamorak book is more than ten times as expensive. Totally not worth it since you could easily just specialise and get bandos, armadyl and zaros books for 5-6M alltogether. Zamorak book is 20M.

Apart from that, the money isn't wasted as you still have a cool item with some defensive bonuses, great for outfits and indeed preaching! :) .

All of those books are sub-par compared to the zammy book. And when you finally tired of having a second rate item you'll have to shell out the money for a zammy book then, and the other book will sit in your bank with the money essentially being wasted. Besides you don't need the pages for your other books if you just want the look. No need to buy the pages.

That's exactly the point I wanted to make. The day you decide to upgrade from the subpar item to the best item you will lose the money you invested in the other books simply because they are untradable. Suck it up, grind out the cash (it isn't that much) and get zammy book if you are THAT serious about it. But like Enaid pointed out earlier, if you are truly serious about range slaying then just use Karils xbow. That is really the best advice. The only place that I can think of where the book is still the best is chinning.

Ahhhh, you're right, apologies, there is no reason whatsoever then to get any of the books, but if you feel a need to use then then grind out zammy book. Thanks for the correction.

The other thing to consider is that Zammy pages are at a totally unprecedented record high right now. If you start out with another book, by the time you want to get a Zammy book it may cost a tenth the price it is right now.

Either way zammy books are insanely expensive, whether it will drop or not no one will know.

If you can't fork over 20m right now or anytime in the near future, getting a book of law as a substitute is fair enough IMO.

A full zamorak book costs about 20m. I don't know of many people who even use it anymore. So before you burn 20m on a book ask yourself if you actually intend on using it a lot. If you think you might not use it much it'll just rot in your bank while you say "I really wish I could tear those pages out and sell them".

I wish I could; not so much that I regret buying it, I'd just like 20m. And get like 10X what I paid for them.

But seriously, at these prices I wouldn't get it. Ask yourself this: if you get the book of the law now, and the Zamorak Book goes down to say 1m, will you regret buying it? Personally, I filled up the Guthix and Saradomin books a long time ago just for... completionism I guess.

That being said, aside from a sense of completionism, there's very little reason to fill up the books. Between void/defelctor, DG/Spirit shields for high end bossing or just X Bow/Hand Cannon, you don't really need the books for ranging.

I doubt that zammy book will go down, there is massive demand for it.

I mean it has been rising when most other items have been falling, that kinda says something about the level of demand there is for it.

I got my zammy book when the pages cost like 1mil :) But if your like me and don't want to fork out 20mil on something then Book of Law is a good alternative.

The decrease in supply as well. Maybe more so than an increase in demand.

Personally I don't think the Zammy Book is worth it anymore. 18 mil is just to much for an item that just gives a little bit more than let's say; a guthix book. I'm just glad I got mine for <1 mil back in the day.

It might be better to invest your time in Void range and a Deflector, then spend that spare money on something else, perhaps an Armadyl Chestplate. The Unholy Book is overpriced and just simply isn't that useful, and the others are just decorative.

only reason for zammy book is if you plan to stat at 1def forever basically

also it's a decent low risk hyrbid shield switch, but the other god books work just aswell
