K112
One of the greatest games ever is coming back. Some new screenshots were released today so I thought I better start a thread. It will be released for XBLA and PC, and will feature many of the things that made tribes 2 so iconic, notably Skiing, Jetpacks and deep team based combat. Danqazmlp
I'm just not sure how it will compete today. Games now need much more than just good gameplay to compete with the AAA titles. The main problem with the first Tribes games were that they mainly spread through word of mouth and not advertising, hopefully this one isn't reduced to having to do the same thing. The other problem is that the sci-fi shooter genre, especially FPS is now so diluted that it will take something extraordinary to do well. Want to be my friend? K112
It's a shame that a game can't survive on good/great gameplay alone isn't it? I'm sure it'll get plenty of coverage at E3 though, if thery're there..
wormy
Time to load up the spinfuzer and disc some nubs.It will need to offer something different, at the time 98(what a year for games!) it offered very good scifi multiplayer gameplay only rivaled by unreal and quake. And a great moding utility, both of those things have become commonplace so here is hoping it can bring about the sameish revolution. I just wish it's herc based brother would be re-released with tribes.
