Leik
They just get more and more pathetic every month. How is that even possible? I really, really hate all this community crap Jagex has been doing for the last 2 years or so. All those useless events and Facebook and all that crap, it's starting to get really annoying. Their home page is full of stuff like that, I hate it. :( LIVERPOOL WILL WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE THIS SEASON. I am sure they have wanted to up membership fees for a long time (and they have) and they know and suspect that if they do they will lose out on members to games people might feel more worth the more money. aka WOW, RIFT, etc. And ya Muggi, Facebook [bleep]s up on a regular basis and it has been for months and months now. Too many members, pages, posts, etc etc etc. They did a great job handling it for a long time but now its just to that point where its literally next to impossible to stay that perfect like their starter days. Danqazmlp
I'll ignore the people who are to embarrassed by the games they play and enjoy and let them continue doing that. I attempted to share it but there is an error at the moment. I have a few friends who might be interested. God forbid they know of the game I am interested in! They may actually reveal themselves as friends who don't judge based on a game. Shock horror... I'm quite unsure as to how offering deals to customers is classed as desperation. It seems to most of the judgemental people here who, as per normal, hate any move Jagex make, think anything other than running the game and cranking out weekly updates is desperate and pointless. Sly_Wizard
How is this desperation? Some people will do this and spend money on Jagex store items they otherwise wouldn't. In the end, Jagex makes money by this. I mean, you do realize that they are a company, yes? I don't see why you're bothering to complain about this. It's nothing more than a promotional offer, and every company does it.

It isn't even so much being embarrassed by the game that I still play, as much as it is the fact that I keep a smaller tightly nit group of friends on facebook that, they either already have their own games they play or are people I work with or other professional contacts that I have hopes one day to maybe work for. Either way, I can see it now, I log in onto facebook bored at work or something with my wall spammed up with [cabbage] from Jagex left and right. I don't need the always walking by casual shoulder surfer seeing that, thinking I get nothing accomplished at work, afterall how can I, Look at my wall Ive gotten so many levels and there are so many runescape updates on my facebook! Also @ Muggi and kaida...I so totally knew thats what you guys meant the whole time! :---) I guess it just must have slipped my mind seeing as how I see anything error related about facebook I can't help but go off on a tangent about some different aspect of that nowadays. <3: CLICK - 770th to 99 SLAYER 2/4/08 - 204th to 99 Summoning 7/1/08 CLICK[Hide=List of Drops That I haven't updated in Years but want to keep in my Sig anyways...]VISAGE DROP - 12/06/073 Duo Sara Hilts, 3 Duo Arma Hilts, 2 Trio Arma Hilts.Dark Bows: (11) Dragon Boots: (50!)Whip Drops: (42!!!) Kaida23
Make a facebook just for your rs account and quit [bleep]ing? The problem is that FB is not exactly the most secure of places. BioIce
They've done things like this before a year ago and the year before that. What of it? This in-your-face style of Jagex and Facebook partnered together just serves as a way of advertising the game through word of mouth. Be thankful they didn't integrate Facebook one way or another while you're playing the actual game. (Login screen option does not count.) Picture it. You slay Nomad, then all of a sudden this "achievement" automatically gets telegraphed to everyone in your list with a revoltingly shiny in-game pop-up. Or when you've killed a boss in Daemonheim, for another. EDIT: As a bonus, if some of your friends are F2P, the pop-up throws in a link to get members. Prepare to Die! Dire_Wolf
At Muggi:Your text comments are awesome. Just wanted to say that :shades: At topic:I think it's pathetic of Jagex to announce news on FB sooner than on Runescape site. If i understood that right? And Jagex store stuff? Very few products are worth buying. Punishment a J-mod? Funny.........right. Perhaps we can punish a J mod by making one of em eat a cabbagge. (why not) And playing Runescape? It's as JAgex said "It's a obsession". And i doubt that in most cases being obsessed with something is a good thing. I would avoid telling anyone i play Runescape, because people judge you and label you. I know this, because i judge myself for having played it. All_Is_Great
I don't see anything wrong with this. Are some people just afraid to be linked by any way to RS? Or do some people just want to take any opportunity to take a shot at Jagex? Just because you are too embarrased to wear RS tshirts in real life, doesn't mean everyone else is. I'm sure there are people who will use this 20% discount and Jagex will make money.
