The fact it's in London I find odd, especially as finding somewhere to stay in London is damn expensive over a weekend. Luckily I wouldn't have to, but still.

They're based in Cambridge, and the closest other city is London (which is well connected transport-wise, and most planes go there/close to there). Holding it in Cambridge would probably be cheaper for them, but it's not well connected transport-wise, and you'd be looking at the same price for hotels

If it were in Cambridge I'd save a ton on travel. I wonder if I can get free tickets if I goto JaGEx and ask. :o
Train is £50 for a weekend return, which sorta sucks, I may see if I can get a coach or something...

Nat Express cost me £25 last year for a return to Birmingham for Runefest.
I would presume that being a good 60 miles closer to London than i am it would possibly cost you £15 ish? I would however take the train if you could afford- I was on the coach for almost 3 hours (next to someone who had a body odour problem too). You could at least walk around on a train.

£9 for a weekend return Cambridge to London. Wonder if I'll see any Jmods on the coach...

And yet again:
"Will there be RuneFest Flagstaffs this year?
Flagstaffs are so last year! But don’t worry this year attendees will still get something awesome to show off in-game."

Let's just stop this right now before it gets out of hand again and this thread turns into a flame fest.
1. The flagstaff/whatever the new item is, is not rwt because it is free. The money is for the ticket, the item is to signify that you went to RuneFest in game
2. Even if it was rwt, which it clearly isn't, we had this discussion to death last year, jagex have made it clear they aren't removing the items nor giving them to everyone who wants it.
Get over it

I still want to go to RuneFest. Anyone want to pay for my RuneFest/Plane ticket? I'll pay for the passport!

I didn't say it was RWT, Jagex is doing it theirselves so by their (changed) definition of RWT it is alright. After all, it is a free gift.
As in: "There is absolutely no <bleep>ing way to obtain the FREE item without PAYING."

I am not starting/reopening the same discussion and won't touch the subject again, just wanted to vent some caged anger.
(Just like most people who read this month's BTS and thought they would have to pay extra to get 'Loyalty Points' 'to unlock a fantastic range of items', this is not much different to me)

Wondering if I should shell out for a ticket for the in-game item, heh.
Had this decision to make last year, went against it. Have to see what this year brings.

I honestly think they should have a raffle for free tickets. I wouldn't go as I'm not of age, but I think it would be a very nice gesture. Hopefully they'll market it better than they did last year and avoid the 'fiasco' that led to them refunding the tickets.

I'm not an efficienado.

What fiasco? I thought they planned to refund the tickets anyway, but they wanted it to be a surprise (which is a nice gesture in my book.)

Aha! Thanks to the Government I can now consider this. The price is a bit steep, and I don't think there's anyone I could come with, but I really hope to go. I'd prefer the 2 days but since I'll be at Uni, not sure if I should take a day off :P

Wish I could go, but I'm underage, and I couldn't afford plane tickets. Still, I'm looking forward to being able to watch the videos of it!

What kinds of things actually happen at RuneFest? I could probably afford to go if I wanted to, but I'm not really sure what it is. :|
Is it basically BlizzCon for RS?

Is it just me or the price of the tickets seems overpriced.

I paid £180 for my music festival ticket for 5day camping and they expect us to pay that much for 1-2days, seems like a rip off tbh

Aparently advanced booking codes are going out this week and tickets will go on sale for those people on Friday. Not sure how accurate this information is, it is from a non confirmed source.

I just found out RuneFest is on at the same time as the London Comic Con Expo. I'm sorry, but if I'm forced to chose between a bigger, cheaper event which I can bring my boyfriend to, or a smaller, extremely expensive event which nobody else I know could come to AND I'm probably not as into as anime...

Soz Jagex, but the divorce papers for you are in the post.
