Maximum XP During Slayer

I guess I will have to suck up Green Dragons lol. With Rapier, I believe I can get the drop almost every time. I have gear, but it is pretty basic (no fire cape, fury, or zerker ring), so no GWD for a loong time.

Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous.

In my opinion the best way to get high slayer is to afk it as much as possible. Therefore I block/skip: nechs, all strykeworms, aquanites, spirit mages, and dust devils. There are a few non-afk tasks, ie mithirl dragons, that I do because they are really good for xp (or money). And I do waterfiends only because I'm still not 99 summoning. I also have a tips and tricks guide about slayer on my youtube channel. I'd suggest you go check it out before you start hard core slaying. The link is in my sig.

I haven't the slightest as to why you would skip LRC.

Because they're extremely slow slayer exp given their high amount of hp, time it takes to kill them, and needing specialized weapons to kill them effectively. They are not like waterfiends, which drop valuable charms. Picking up noted drops that might at the end of it all barely add up to 100k gp and gaining less than 15k slay exp per hour is not something you want to do when you're looking to maximize slayer exp.

What specialized weapons do you need to kill them? They have virtually no defense to speak of...

It's very fast and I gain over a mil pure cash on blue drag tasks usually.

Damn... I could understand this if you had a yak, but seriously, how long does it take you to finish blues? Assume you cram a tort and your inventory full, that's 46 slots and Kuradal often assigns around 180, so that's 4 trips at the least... pretty massive waste of time imo, especially when you could use that time to make better cash using an efficient moneymaker

Either get money (the usual advice of green dragons and others can be extracted from any of the 3-4 money making topics on the first page of H&A any given day), or go for less xp/hr slaying conventionally, and make money slaying instead of spending it. Do this until you have enough for supplies and powerslay until funds run out.

The next comment will involve opportunity cost mumbo jumbo from efficiency-afficionados, but I can't be bothered with it. Fun comes first.

assumes slaying conventionally to make money to use for powerslaying later is fun.

Well, I don't like the idea of Green Drags anymore, so I'll probably find something else to use for $ (somehow).

You sure live up to your signature.

Anyway, I said that he should either make money to maximise slayer xp by powerslaying. He then repleid that he does not like most of the methods for making money (though he mentions to "suck it up" - not fun IMO). As an alternative, I suggest he continues slaying at a lower xp rate, but profiting instead of costing, and powerslay in bursts.

Fun is relative, so slaying conventionally may be fun for you but not for him.

Anyhow, all of these are moot points.

We're all giving him the exact same advice.

If you really want to power slay - you need money.

No money - no spending millions on cannon able tasks that you burn through.

Either way - you have to grind it out. You can grind for money or grind through power slaying.

You can't have your cake and eat it too :(

I never said I expect everything to profit nor did I say I will not make $. I am still trying to figure out a money maker that I can actually do without getting too bored.

If you normally make money by killing green/blue dragons, I'm pretty sure it's efficient to do blue dragon/abyssal tasks. Other than that, farm runs should about cover cannoning if you do enough (when you can, really).

I can and currently do Farm Runs. I just haven't checked since yesterday since I've been in Fight Caves all day. I normally make $ from Kingdom, Farming, and Slayer (well the funds go to powerslay), but this time, the $ is going to finish off getting 89 Herblore (since I cba to log every minute). I haven't killed Green Drags and Blue Drags for $ in years (about 2 years).
