If fighting other poly users, it's best to swap to ancients for Miasmic Blitz, as it slows down pps. I might give it a try swapping to normal spells for SoA tomorrow, as healing from blood barrage is kinda meh. Also option to left click manual cast normal spells please. :(

 

Too many factors to take into account to simulate, so easy to mess up and lose attack turns when spellbook swapping.

Few people have told me blitz is better, dunno why, but I barrage anyway. :lol:

Was doing it with Barrages anyway, person I was fighting was using blitzes, but only 75 def and 99hp/mage. It becomes easier to switch if both people Miasmic'd though.

I've heard of the theory before that lower level spells are more accurate, but when I tested this with Wind Strike and Fire Surge, both spells had the exact same accuracy.

I got into a thread about Whisper vs Fury on the RSOF, and I seem to recall somewhere that strength bonuses were always superior to attack bonuses, until they became equal at 50% accuracy. This is actually the case, right?

Yep, barring rounding/extremely high def:hp ratios (the infamous 10 lp corporeal beast). Whisper has +20 total where fury has +18, and whisper has higher strength, so it always results in better raw damage output. There may be select cases where the +15 def bonus would increase effective dps more because you need to eat less, but that seems extremely unlikely to me.

Is there proof for this somewhere? Someone seems convinced that at low (10%) accuracy it'd be more worthwhile to increase attack bonuses versus strength bonuses, though I thought that even against a monster with infinite defence roll strength = accuracy (at that point).

Uh, at 10% accuracy, you probably have other things to worry about, but that aside...

 

It's about % increase afaik, of course +64 attack bonus added to +0 doubles your effective attack roll, where +64 strength bonus on +256 only adds 20%. But in RS, there simply isn't any way to get a difference that big between attack and strength bonus. I think the highest is something like berserker ring, necklace, Pernix etc. but nobody really uses that.

 

Of course if I'm wrong I'm sure Hedgehog will show up with a full explanation in triplicate in impeccable Latin.

You need 64 att bonus to double your attack roll. But the amount it takes to double your strength roll is dependent on your effective strength because of this:

Does anyone in here flip often?

And if so, what items would best (do you think, or atleast a couple guesses) for flipping with 4-4.5M?

 

I'm currently playing around with bulk items (items that you buy ~25k of and sell for a marginal profit of 5-10 gp) and some pricier items such as Verac's Brassard (which moved out of a good flipping margin, sadly).

You can flip pretty much anything, you just have to keep looking till you find something with a decent margin.

You can flip pretty much anything, you just have to keep looking till you find something with a decent margin.

 

Just trying to compile a list of my own and add some items to it that other people have found to be really good items for flipping (whether that be bulk or not).

Actually logged in today, did the new quests. They are fun. With the 1k xp reward total (+ about 50k xp from the spins I got as rewards) I am now closer than ever to maxing! *cough*.

 

Also traded in my Bandos, Glaivens, Ragefires and some cash in for Virtus top and Subjugation boots. Can't be bothered getting the rest of that set because come EoC Virtus will be better anyway, and 1300+ lp is pretty nice. But the boots are actually 3m cheaper which is just about the cash I have left now :P.

OK bit late but worth mentioning the bonus xp got me 98 agility yesterday, and I used an instakill dart each on the QBD and Sunfreet (because I cba thinking about them), going to use the next two at Nex.

I got my boxing sim working, attack & defense rolls are 8+(Bonus+64)/64, correct? I also need strength's rolls, Rapier and then custom sim, WITH ATTACK SPEEDS coming up sometime, I'm finding this fun. :)
