Seems that Massacre is actually decent, especially if you use a shield and switch for ultimate. I think a good shield fighter is pretty much unkillable, a good dual wield ult would be really nice for tanks.

 

If you crit on one bleed hit, are they all critical? Can you crit on bleed hits? What about the main hit? It seems to me crits can partially ignore the 5k damage cap as my critical meteor strikes can hit over 5k.

 

Quick update on comp cape etc.:

 

Got 110 dg, about 200k to max cape, have challenges lined up for all three skills + tears (I'll max with tears), waiting for desert tasks. Unlocked Group Vengeance.

 

Been hunting for hybrid pieces, won 20ish PC games today and a CW game (one loss one draw also). Those get really boring, but SW is even worse :(. Also hoping FoG gets an update because right now it's so dead that you can't even start a game, it takes 16 people iirc. I still need a pair of Vanguard gloves since I keepsaked the pair I already had.

 

Ports-wise, I got my fourth ship, third judge of dice and a bunch more crew. Up to 19 chi and 14 plate now, 3/4 Seasinger robe top scrolls, 26/36 story voyages (bleeping missionary needs to show up). 1417 port score, 66% to Pincers.

Bleed is a set damage for some abilities - for Massacre it's fixed. You can't crit on bleed hits but you can crit on the accompanying attack in the case of Massacre.

 

And holy crap 66% to Pincers o_O Easily 3 days behind here lol.

OK good to know, you can crit on dismember iirc, but that's variable of course.

 

Just sent Biologist and Whaler doesn't provide voyages anymore, sad :(. Also struggling to get all win rates over 80% without tons of rerolls - I have 4 morale crew in port because there's no missions for them, but I had to send my friggin chimera to boost seafaring on another mission (+20 ftw). Two days ago I had to reroll a laquer voyage because I had three 16k morale voyages at once (3 chi, 3 laquer and a special iirc).

Think I figured out how crew levelling works, kind of.

 

Voyage difficulty/distance doesn't affect XP, only the region the voyage originated from afaik (this is true for story voyages and standard voyages, not sure about trade goods/scroll voyages).

 

Scythe voyages give you enough XP to go from level 0 to 2 in one go, then one more Scythe voyage takes you to level 3.

 

Bowl voyages give you enough XP to go from level 0 to 3 in one go, one more Bowl voyage takes you from level 3 to 4, two more voyages take you from 4 to 5, and then four more voyages take you from level 5 to 6.

 

 

So I'm guessing that the XP scale in POP is such that the XP required to get to the next level is equal to the total XP your crew member has at his/her current level, pretty sharp. E.g. 100XP for level 1, 200XP for level 2, 400XP for level 3, etc. At the very least, I'm certain the XP requirements double from levels 2 to 6.

 

Captains follow an entirely different scale which I'll check out when I get my next 10k captain.

The final picture sort of tells the story (not very happy with the quality of the compositon but there you go). I finished all desert tasks, turned in one challenge per skill, gathered the task rewards, lamped the skills to 99 except for the last bit of fishing. I prefer to take my 99 pictures depicting the method I mostly used to max, so bonus xp + congold and C2 are good. And I've wanted to max off Tears for a while now.

Gained a whooping 7% to Pincers today, all my missions were 3840 or 4800 distance and I got a scroll in the morning on top of that! Wish I could keep this up lol.

Nice! I haven't had trade goods from regular voyages in forever, and doing stories for specials - dual missions don't give me anything if I do story these days :(. Plenty of trait voyages though, my combat captain has 2x slayer (please fix boost Jagex -.-), my morale captain 2x awe-inspiring and my seafaring captain has 2x plucky, awe-inspiring and seafarer (2.5k captain). Got another seafarer voyage which I can't use unless I roll a 10k seafaring captain tomorrow. Makes a good one to replace by Barmaids Tip though.

 

81% to Pincers, need one more story voyage to have all Bowl stories done. Recruited 4th Judge, now looking to get some jade merchants because it seems there is no stainless steel merchant, already have 6 of each basic + 2 witches + chimera/merchant (will dump chimera sometime, but no use yet, didn't roll merchants :/). 1509 port score :).

Not a great ports day wednesday, mostly 180-250 jade missions. But thursday has 800 jade special & a chance at the third slayer trait for my 10k combat captain, plus whaler for 600 jade and missionary Bowl story (last I need!). 84% to Pincers.

 

Also did 4 CW games (2 win 2 loss) and won 63 Pest Control games. Ugh. About 130/500 for PC, maybe 25/100 for CW, idk about SW but less than that probably.

Was just thinking of how they should rework the Resurrects trait so it's not complete garbage.

 

I think I'd like it to work this way:

- Doesn't activate if the lifeboat makes a save

- When activated, removes all traits the captain/crew member had, and adds the Undead trait

- Removes all personal bonuses

- Base stats, level stats and level are retained.

 

 

How close are you to Pincers? Today or tomorrow?

94% to Pincers, will end today at 96-97% probably. Finished Seasinger robe top scroll, bought enchanted figurehead (lol), still need cherrywood for bar but that's on the way.

 

Resurrects imo should work:

- Definitely personal bonusus, since you resurrect someone's spirit (otherwise it'd be called 'animate');

- Removes all traits related to own death (feeble etc., but can keep loyal and such, and staunch);

- Keeps other traits, similar to personal bonusus. There's no crew with 4 traits I should think, so replacement isn't a problem;

- Keeps resurrects trait (:D) and other traits, golems aren't 'alive' and they can have proper traits as well, not a problem;

- Keeps level and stats following from that;

- Undead trait is -50 morale per non-undead crew member including captain, so up to -250;

- Does affect captains (:D);

- Stops all further xp gain;

- Lifeboat takes precendence.

 

The idea that the undead age/gain experience differently is pretty classic, I know it from a D&D sourcebook somewhere (describing liches).

Bloody missions >.>. Rerolled slate, then rerolled a pair of 120 jade missions, then I get bamboo and a trait I can't use -.-. Ended up with cherrywood and no more rerolls - still have time to send at least 3 more voyages. Lucky one of them is for bones at least, that should cover some distance :S.

 

Did get fancy red curtains for my bar. 1588 port score. Should hit ~1600 by the time I get Pincers.
