Alright so I was trying to hook up a computer I got to my TV, I got it plugged in and it will work while the loading screen comes up for the computer then once it goes away it says invalid format, Is there anyway I can fix this? Also I was wonder if theres any way I could completely clean out the computer? I don't mind if I'd have to delete everything. I'm not good with computers so any helps appreciated, Thanks!

What type of cable are you using to connect the computer to the TV? VGA? DVI? HDMI?

Clean out, do you mean physically clean out, or get rid of all files? I presume the latter, and for this you could format the hard disk and then reinstall windows (assuming you still have the installation disk)

Tyler, I've just a couple of questions for you. :-k

First, have you tried launching in 'Safe Mode' in order to see if that would make a difference in getting video to your TV? If not, you might want to. Why? It should cause the refresh rate to drop to 60 Hz temporarily, enabling you to set different video settings for normal operation and (usually) get around what's causing it to stop displaying anything. :geek:

Second, if you're really going to nuke everything, have you made a backup of your personal data/settings? Along with that, have you at least tried to remove malware with your AntiVirus/AntiSpyware/etc. tools? Further, have you tried uninstalling useless programs that load you full of extra startup items? Finally, have you tried to dump useless registry keys from junk that you already 'deep-six'd? :-s

Call me crazy if you want, but I do suggest trying to resurrect your PC from its' current standpoint at least once or twice before throwing in the towel and rebuilding most of what's on it. :anxious:
