Gunnari grew up as most Tengu do, on one of the ship caravans that move seemingly at random across the seas, he had a fairly average life, one mother, one father who left soon after he was hatched and a host of brood mates that ran about the ships with him. As he grew older, he began to grow apart from his family and eventually it became time to strike off on his own, in a sort of coming of age ceremony/trial. Rather than simply do what many of his brood mates did and simply be cast out a bit in front of the caravan fleet and rejoin them a day later. For whatever mad reason, be it thirst for adventure or temporary insanity he signed on a faring. A faring was a voyage taken by the members of the caravan fleets that served both the purpose of a test bed for new technology and as a means to gather "low cost supplies". In short, it was piracy, necessary maybe, but piracy none the less and it was generally treated as such by the nations that were "bought" from. He found that he took quite well to faring, and it was there where he learned how to operate most firearms in the ten years in which he fared. Eventually he took a type of quasi shore leave and after a series of unknown events ended up attending the tournament with the rest of the party.

Regarding firearms: (This is all just an idea, feel free to disregard it) Guns are common place, the 600 years of what amounts to a pressure cooker in the struggle for resources caused a slough of technological advancement. Simple firearms are not that hard to find, but you would be hard pressed to find anything more than muzzle loaded outside of certain clan caravans of the Tengu, certain dwarven holds that lie unsubmerged, a select few kobold clans that use them in truly vicious traps and the odd human adventurer.

Nex it seems okay if you fixed the issue with your favored classes.

 

Grim, that seems to only be half of a character sheet, as at the very least you are missing your attack information, what your 3rd language is, and your Class traits(at the very least you need to define what your deeds are).

 

If people are up for it I can almost certainly have my material ready for running the session tommorow at 1 PM CDT.

Right, I've edited most everything in, I was waiting for the OK for the firearms level before investing too heavily in equipment. I'll be free tomorrow as well.

 

EDIT: Does the ring of sustenance do as is implied and also give you necessary food and water, or is it taken literally and only makes you have to rest less?

I have enough money for a Wayfinder for our party, and Grim, if you get an Ioun stone you can set it into the Wayfinder for the normal effects plus some potential extra magical abilities. The basic Ioun stone makes it so you don't need Food or Water, and costs 4,000 gold.

Seems like a huge waste.

 

For many reasons.

 

The amount of food we could get for 4,000 gp is enough for a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong campaign.

 

We could go hunting for food too.

 

And we don't really have a problem with eat and drink times as last time we played pathfinder we would camp a good amount.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Instead of getting the ring of sustenance, I decided to get a bag of holding (which now doubles as a rucksack). Well that and 15 day's worth of rations and approximately 8 gallons of ale. I can also carry other people's food/drink as well.

 

EDIT: How much would a [cabbage] tonne of salt cost?

Cathran was raised since early childhood by a traveling performer, who taught her the skills to survive both as an actor and a thief - Acting to entertain as well as to avoid suspicion, knowing at a glance both what an audience may want to see as well as the details of a potential target, and how to avoid notice except when it would be beneficial, in addition to self-defense skills. The pair made a living entertaining sailors and merchants both ashore and on board ships until being separated during last Grand Arcana Festival two years ago.

 

Cathran was able to survive based on the mentor's training, and overheard mention of the current festival while stowing away on a trader's vessel. At the very least, the festival would provide many opportunities for both a performer and a pickpocket, and a welcome change from hiding with some merchant's supplies on a long journey.
