Sy_Accursed
Eh, the tree restore thingy, is it bugged, or crappy design? I only get walk options, and about 1/10 cliks makes the energy dots move, but always in an order I don't want. It's not bugged just slightly flawed in no click zones. I found clicking in the middle of the sphere that is in the bottom left of the square you wish to rotate; and they only go clockwise. Huge Noob
Is anyone else able to keep their "Vyrelord" title after the quest? I kept it on mine but have yet to run in to anyone else with any variation of the titles given within the quest... EDIT: Never mind, it puts the title there when you're wearing the disguise from Darkmeyer.

Deathknell
Seriously, can someone give me a storyline overview? Maybe some pics of Darkmeyer? Also, is the altar there a Chaos Altar? I'm like a hot mess, but without the alcohol.
LinkOlaran
Just posting to say that this was likely my favorite quest since... I'm not sure what. Really well designed, the stealth part just getting into Darkmeyer wasn't too difficult, the boss was challenging, but not overly so - same with the tree puzzle. Really enjoyed the quest. I had no issue on dialup when I was killing Vanstrom, although I did get hit with the blood splats fairly often. I used void with the polearm, yak and maybe half an invy of monkfish. Still had over a dozen left afterwards, although I admit his last attack as he died managed to make me ROL and then glitched my screen so it stayed black -.-. Returning afterwards to finish worked fine, though. The bloodveld guard pet/thing (Harold) didn't give me any issues at all, although I only had the polearm with me at the time (and the holy water). Just put on pray melee and whack it until it dies - I didn't know about the holy water weakening him until I got it almost dead, but a friendly chat member (you know who you are <3) told me to use it. My recommendation for killing Vanstrom (assuming you only took the polearm and holy water) would be to run around similar to how you would against the luminescent icefiend, and run in to stab him occasionally. Or, just keep running. He'll get you with his freeze attack a couple times, but so long as you rapidly click away from it, you shouldn't get caught in the blood splat that he spawns under you while you're frozen. From what other posters have said though, it seems using stakes in this stage is preferable, although just dodging during this stage/hit and run with polearm still works. Really looking forward to the next part of the series, I just hope it doesn't take years to come out :P right now, I think I might go and test out my new polearm for Temple Trekking. hkscaper
I find something interesting about juvinates. Those in Darkmeyer simply die when you get their lp down to 0 with the polearm, but those outside still turn into mist and escape at low lp. And the vampires west of Burgh d Rott are called vampyres now, even though you can still hit them with normal weapons.

aspeeder
Fun quest, though funnily enough my favorite part of this was walking around all the new lands east of Hallowvale. Also, did anyone else notice the book in the cave towards the beginning? It reads:[spoiler=Quest Book Contents]Page 1: With -- I am weak. My fellow -- spread and sparse. Vampyrium -- lost to me. I am much -- weak to enter. -- I still sense it, Zamorak's bane. --It must be mine. --The Icyene -- me. must [sic] rest -- recover. Page 2:I do not know how long Ihave slept, but I feel mypowers rebuilt and mywounds healed[sic]The darkness consumes meand gives me life oncemore. I must -- open-- recover ---- bring back mybrothers and sisters.I will retake these lands. EDIT: Oh yeah, and it got me to 75 rcing, any quest that can do that get's an A+ in my book. http://i700.photobucket.com/albums/ww6/aspeeder/Siggy_zpsewaiux2t.png 99 Strength since 6/02/10 99 Attack since 9/19/10 99 Constitution since 10/03/10 99 Defense since 3/14/11 99 Slayer since 8/30/11 99 Summoning since 9/10/11 99 Ranged since 09/18/11 99 Magic since 11/12/11 99 Prayer since 11/15/11 99 Herblore since 3/29/12 99 Firemaking since 5/15/12 99 Smithing since 10/04/12 99 Crafting since 9/16/13 99 Agility since 9/23/13 99 Dungeoneering since 1/1/14 99 Fishing since 2/4/14 99 Mining since 2/28/14 99 Farming since 6/04/14 99 Cooking since 6/11/14 99 Runecrafting since 10/10/14 9 Fletching since 11/11/14 99 Thieving since 11/14/14 99 Woodcutting since 11/20/14 99 Construction since 12/03/14 99 Divination since 2/22/15 99 Hunter since 2/23/15 99 Invention since 01/20/17 99 Archaeology since 5/14/22Quest Point Cape since 08/20/09 Maxed since 2/23/15 Fire Cape since 02/27/13 Slayer: 3 Leaf-Bladed Swords, 8 Black Masks, 2 Hexcrests, 26 Granite Mauls, 5 Focus Sights, 32 Abyssal Whips, 9 Dark Bows, 1 Whip Vine, 3 Staffs of Light, 15 Polypore Sticks Dragon: 9 Draconic Visages, 7 Shield Left Halves, 20 Dragon Boots, 40 Dragon Med Helms, 8 Dragon Platelegs, 6 Dragon Spears, 20 Dragon Daggers, 5 Dragon Plateskirts, 1 Dragon Chainbody, 63 Off-hand Dragon Throwing Axes, 19 Dragon Longswords, 27 Dragon Maces, 1 Dragon Ward Treasure Trails: Saradomin Full Helm, Ranger Boots, Rune Body (t), Saradomin Vambraces, Various God Pages Misc:1 Onyx,1 Ahrim's Hood, 1 Guthan's Chainskirt, 1 Demon Slayer Boots

michel555555
i'm sorry but jagex just failed with this quest. The boss fight is interesting but they just made it to much of a jad fight. All of us with slow internet just cant beat him. His shadow attack is just too fast that we cant turn away and we take the 100-300 hits every time. His blood attack that teles you near him just cant be avoided. And the fact that all of his blood attack are aoe also make it hard to avoid when he goes flight mode on you. Nevermind that he can also freeze you. If he would be like nomad where his attacks follow a patern then it wouldn't be to bad. As it is, its just to hard to avoid his attacks unless you have a decent internet. Nevermind the piles and piles of graves that make it almost imposible to get your items back without tele grabs. The attacks do follow a pattern from what I've seen.Normal > blood pools > normal > healing velds > normal > shadow > normalAm pretty sure I had him do healing velds 2x in a row. :s I think it probably does go in that order, but the duration of each attack can be different, he may do the bloodvelds once or he may do it 3 times. From what i've been seeing he doesnt have a set pattern. For me he keeps skipping the blood phase and goes shadow>normal>bloodveld>normal and then right back to shadow. Unless his normal magic attack also is considered a blood attack?? Finally beat him with void range and stakes and just tanking through the shadow phase and most of the non flight blood attacks, since they also damage him if he's close enough to it. [spoiler=click you know you wanna]Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine! if you had this childhood and loved it put this in your signature!
Peronix
I don't see why a Vampyre artefact would boost damage against them, especially an item it is implied a lot of them use as a means of getting around. And can't say anything in-game dialogues remotely suggested it would do as such.It makes about as much sense as it would for the vampires to have a blisterwood orchid, Canafis selling wolfbanes etc. And last I checked not all of tip.its Undeads are considered undead by salve. It's just there's monsters that don't fit any category other than undead If you are sure from experience on the salve vs vyre thing I'll take your word. But I've seen a couple random vyrewatch burning guides on the internet that have recommended it. Also it's not as ridiculous a concept as you think. It would totally make sense for the lord of the vampyres to have an artifact that he could use to assert his dominance against other vyres. Not that I'm saying it's true, but it's nowhere near like Canafis selling wolfbanes.
