It's simply short-term money grabbing at the cost of the long-term health of the game. Cut back updates/servers if there is less interest. Why let the game die slowly? Jagex might be working on a RS replacement, but that game isn't finished yet. And we don't really know much about it either. If Jagex would be interested in killing RS and making people play the other game instead, they wouldn't let RS start "declining" before the other game is available, now would they? Now I am not totally sure about this, but in my opinion it seems quite stupid. The players would then "escape" to other, non-Jagex games.We might not know why Jagex is acting like they do. There's always another cow in the field.couldn't have put it better myself. However, the most recent quest would suggest that there literally isn't much left in terms of the game story. I mean, they even showed Saradomin in-game - to me that says there really isn't gonna be that much more left to say.
