Vyrewatch slayer task

Recommended Posts

The tasks first turned up after Branches of Darkmeyer and so far I've only seen/heard of people getting them after completing the quest. So I'll go with yes its a "reward" in kind for the quest

True but they are fast, reasonbly good xp and have other drops that while not amazing are enough to skim along profit; especially since you can camp them in Darkmeyer right by the altar and bank using the blisterwood weapons that easily hit into 700-800 region

They're really not a very good task in my experience. They're worse than steels in terms of slayer xp/hr.

Then again I don't have any damage bonus from vyrecorpse burning, so if you have plenty of those done then maybe they're better.

Yeah I was hoping they do require the quest so that I can just not do it and keep them blocked for now.

Shouldn't make too much impact.

The burns increase accuracy slightly and only add ~100 to max damage.

Even in just the darkmeyer outfit. no pots prayers or other boosters I could easily down them in 2 - 3 hits.

Plus good thing is right by bank = bank corpses as you go = easy maxing of the weaponary

I highly doubt you're killing them in 2-3 hits consistently, because in bandos + overloads + turmoil, while I did do it sometimes, it more often than not took more than 3-4 hits. What's your kph?

And banking slows down the task more than you would think, even though it's close.

Well I've not done them enmass, but current average more than 3 hits was rare. But even if 3-4 hits is the true average its still hardly sloooooooooooowwww

You are both talking about vyrelords, right, not regular vyrewatch?

I know I definitely average over 3, probably over 5 hits per vyrelord/lady.

I honestly have no idea on mine, I was in upper tier area though so I presume mostly lords and ladys; perhaps there is a bigger accuracy effect that I thought on the weapons (I have 500 corpse burns done)

Not to the max hit--to every hit.

That would explain why I suck at vyres

This is news to me, though tbf I've not used the new weapons much or the flail since they tweaked it during darkmeyer update.

Oh really? Maybe it would be worth picking up the corpses then :P

Now if only pyre logs would buy on the ge....

Anyone know if the different types of vyre corpses add different values to the amount needed to upgrade a flail/polearm? I've burnt 83 corpses and I'm pretty sure I haven't gotten a message saying that I've improved with the flail or blisterwood weapons.

Different corpses are purely cosmetic so the corpses matches the monster (mainly wing colouring)

It's easy to miss the message as its just a minor graphic and a chat box message and it only comes every 50 and 50 rarely falls at the end of load so you kinda flood it out.

However it doesn't increase the max hit, it increases the "hit" by 100 dmg with 500 burned. - similar to how ring of kuradal works.

That is similar (in average dmg / second in the ideal case) to 200 max dmg increase. Or 50 extra strength on the weapon.

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

if your unsure how many you have burned there is a lectern that is opposite the stairs in the cololumbriam (spelling, i know, to lazy to look it up) search it and it tells you how many you have killed

it is very easy to miss the upgrade message as it happens only once every 50 you burn.

i don't play psykick anymore... i play 2ed: "pure fett"

26081 to get 99 herblore

They're a really slow task if you loot and bank corpses, and they don't drop effigies (unless you're doing vyrewatch)... nor anything of particularly high value for that matter. The only reason I bother with them is for the 500 burns for trimmed comp, though I'm not sure how good vyres are as a task assuming you just rambo through without looting anything. Even on a 1700+ pop world I was killing them quickly enough that I had to wander into mid tier to keep myself constantly attacking.

question: does the burning of corpses also effect the blisterwood polearm? cause ive now burned 50 corpses and got the message in the chatlog that my ivandis flail was upgraded...?

Yes corpse burns apply to all 4 weapons (flail, polearm, stake and staff)
