I think its more a fix than a glitch.

You make it sound like running through a few level 87 monsters is hard which it really shouldn't be at your level.

So therefore there is zero proof of this claim...


You make it sound like running through a few level 87 monsters is hard which it really shouldn't be at your level.

Likewise, someone on the forums claimed that Mod Mark said in his FC that the magical accuracy nerf was intentional.

He of course didn't put a source in.

The logic used to determine if you get an orange "max" hit-splat was re-written as part of this update.

 

Before, say your normal max hit was 100 and then you went to do a slayer task with a black mask on, your max hit would become 115 however anything you hit over your normal max hit of 100 would be shown as an orange hit. After the update, now only if you hit for 115 in this example will an orange hit be shown.

 

For those who don't want to have to search.

Testing max with fire blast, to see if the complaints are true:

Not only does it have a lower max hit, it often hits very low (below 50). Took me over 100 death runes to get a max hit.

 

No problems with Wind blast or other spells as far as I can tell.

As for accuracy, not too sure about that. I seemed to hit 95% of the time with the spells I tested in dung, but I haven't tried Magic Dart at barrows.

Magic did get a slight nerf with the last update. It's nothing groundbreaking, and not really felt when dealing with monsters who have a low magical defence, but in places like barrows, where your progress is measured by how many doses of ppots you used the nerf is felt quite alot. Haven't done enough runs to estimate the ammount of accuracy which was taken away yet, but working on it.

Do you, or anyone else, have any proof whatsoever? Seems like no one does, and as such this thread is entirely anecdotal. I can believe that people have had issues with the fire blast spell, or perhaps just the fire blast spell inside dg, but an overall nerf to magic accuracy I won't believe unless there is actual evidence.

There definitely are problems with mage, probably a bug and not a nerf.

 

 

Ancients seem to be unaffected, but especially slayer dart and partway also elemental spells hit less and less accurate. There are too many people around experiencing this for it just to be bad luck.

In response to the person who was talking about my 5 hits under 30 - it was 5 hits in a row. I would consistently hit under 30. I've run through 2 more c6 larges, and I estimate around 30% of my hits are under 20 and 70% are under 100.

So far I've only heard problems with fire blast and magic dart. Only fire blast has really been proven to be bugged. Fire surge seems to be fine for me, I'm not noticing any differences myself.

The accuracy of Storm of Armadyl has been nerfed; after the update I'm splashing constantly in mage boxing when before I would win by over 400 hp.

If this is indeed true and what people are saying about fire blast, mage in f2p got even worse. It was already horrible but they somehow managed to make it even worse. =D>

I'm still confused as to why people are still using slayer dart at barrows. Ice barrage or even black salamanders are better. Maybe it finally got nerfed there because they aren't actually slayer monsters. That would be horrific.

yeah it seems so =/

i used to get the orange hitsplat in fire blast at around 192 (full bryll and catalytic staff) before the update.

Now my max (orange hitsplat) is 117 (same equipment) and its a rare occasion when i get a >100 hit.

 

Switched to earth blast (orange hitsplat at 172 :( )

 

btw im 66 mage atm.

good(or bad??) to see that it wasn't just me experiencing it. By the way is it just while dungeoneering or has it gone down outside as well?

Dont usually mage outside of Daemonheim.

Allright, so the "nerf" was confirmed to actually be a bug affecting several spells, including slayer dart, thats why barrows was sucking that much lately.
