Kimberly
I don't quite want to pay out for mithril platebodies, despite those tempting exp rates. My question is what would be some better alternatives? I need to raise my smithing from 81 to 86. I've got the scroll of efficiency. I can't complete SC games fast enough to make obtaining hammers worth it. Should I do addy arrowtips?
Quyneax
You can have a look at the Artisan's Workshop. I think ore prices are a bit wobbly after the bot nuke still so gp/xp calculators are slightly off, but in general it shouldn't be too slow or expensive to do burial armour. If you want a gold cannon it's best to get it now, before you unlock adamant platebodies :P. Kimberly
do you have a guestimate of what kind of xp/hr I could achieve with Artisan's Workshop using addy ore?
Kaida23
Doing grade 1 iron is about 42k/hr so grade 1 adamant should be about 113k/hr. Check out my blog to read the Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero. THE place for all free players to connect, hang out and talk about how awesome it is to be F2P. So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...
Sinkhan
Is it semi-afkable? Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug
Ellac
Artisan's workshop is at the top of the list as far as AFK smithing. Thanks to Iglw for the amazing signature!
Kimberly
Alright, thank you for all the help so far guys. :) What's the rate of consumption, roughly? So I know how many ores to buy for my first hour or so.
Cactuaar
Just adding on, artisan's workshop (burial armour) is extremely afk, I've been there past few days and for 10% less exp you could go afk for 2 mins easily, though I've just browsed other sites and changed to what the instructor guy says to make. It's extremely quick exp too, although I haven't tracked it, but quicker than mith plates and I think over 200k exp/hr, I'm not too sure but it's so easy I don't care too much lol. As for rate of consumption, again not sure, but its 3 addy ores and 14 coal per addy ingot II for ~450 exp (more if you switch to what the guy says to make, and more if you buy the additional exp bonuses), so if you're going for 86 smithing you could calculate it based on those rates. Enaid also posted the other addy ingots and their cost/exp if the 10 gp/exp is out of your budget. Also, if you want a gold/royale cannon, best to do it now as after 88 addy plates are much better in terms of gp/exp and good exp/hr. I've managed to get both cannons and the first two bonus exp rewards from 80-88 smith, so 81-86 should be enough for the cannon.
Sinkhan
Artisan's workshop is at the top of the list as far as AFK smithing. Well I'm fairly certain cballs are still more afkable, but this is actually reasonable xp so I think I'll switch to this when I want to watch a film. firebird308
Have you been using fast sc on world 99? It's non-combat and games are short. Generally about ten minutes. If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.^^^At least I'm not the only crazy one
Jadinko
Hi kimberley. Superheating gold is another option, 120k magic exp/hour along with 130k for smithing. Lots of clicking, but also extremely fast exp if you're looking for both of those. It's also very cheap. Miseryism | Completionist
