Blaze The Movie Fan
I love the skill slayer, and it gives me the ability to fight more monsters, but can somebody give me a legitmately good reason why Durdael doesn't assign red dragons? Is it because they drop a few items at a time? Maybe they do but their common rate of mithirl 2h swords, law runes, blood runes, death runes and rune arrows are very good drops and if you kill a lot of them you will end up with a lot of those things. Is it because red dragons are too weak? Not a possibility because he assigns fire giants, greater demons and many other weaker monsters. Is it because he only wants to keep one monster of each category? Again, not a possibility because if he did he wouldn't be assigning both greater demons and black demons. Or both iron and steel dragons. So that possibility is out the window as well. I'm not complaining, I just wanna know why? It makes no sense whatsoever. Sy_Accursed
Because ALLL monsters can't be on slayer task lists and there already 7 dragons on there, 8 if you include wyverns as a dragon-type creature. They like to leave some monsters free for non-slayers. spooferfish
I'm ok with no Red Dragon tasks. Wheres the best place to kill them? Especially if you want to bank. Wilderness and Karamja are the only places they show up. Yak helps, but still.
Blaze The Movie Fan
Let me tell you something, red dragons are very easy to kill as long as you have the right tools. I use my knight armor and fight them with dragon battleaxe all the time. I can kill 7-15 red dragons while using nothing but lobsters to heal myself. And anti-dragon potions to protect myself from their poison. Also why do you need to be close to a bank to kill a monster? Since when is that important? Law runes were invented for a reason, use them if you're so concerned about getting to a bank, I do that all the time. Oh and getting to the cave in Brimhaven is easy for me because I just steal money from guards and use the money to pay to get in there. I also would like to point out that black dragons, iron dragons and steel dragons might be easy to kill, but they are hard to kill if you don't have the right tools or levels. I always kill iron and steel dragons with magic and I kill black dragons with my dragon halberd. Now let me tell you something, just because you can't do something easily doesn't mean no one else can.

No offence, and I'm not judging the way you play, because everyone plays their own way, but that is incredibly inneffective, to the point of tears. If anything, finish the Elite karamja diaries, for free access, get a stock of like 1k bronze axes (I forget if you have to cut vines to get to Red dragons). And bring home and brimhaven home tablets (Chisel + home tab after A Love Story). With a packyack, or even a war tort this can actually be decently fast. Unfortunately, the Dba is officially crap in almost every aspect compared to almost everything. An extreme antifire is definetly the way to go, with a CR, and D-def, it could be great. If you love killing these guys, absolutely go for it. But (and I have no idea what your skills are like) if you have good/decent herblore and summoning, and 82 or 83 DG with CR, these guys will melt beneath your power. And even if you're not looking to max out efficiency like crazy, it still makes it easier and more fun to spend more time doing the killing, and less with the... thieving. Blaze The Movie Fan
Alright, I will try to get the Karamja gloves, and I might try using ranged on those dragons, so I appreciate your advice. But I won't train summoning, ever. Because I play RuneScape to get break from Pokémon, and since the summoning skill is a horrible ripoff I won't do it. But I appreciate the rest of your advice a lot, and will take some of those things into consideration, I don't see how I would need to use ranged on those dragons since I can kill them just fine with my dragon battleaxe, but who knows? I might try it out.
Blaze The Movie Fan
You know, maybe it's best if I don't post on this message board at all. I'm better off making a rant on a YouTube video anyway. So yeah, I won't be making any more threads as it only makes me more of an idiot.

Blaze The Movie Fan
No, I wasn't. I was being entirely honest in this thread. I did not make this thread to get reaction, I made it to speak my mind. But yeah as you can clearly tell I'm an idiot. And I just made myself more of an idiot by making this thread. I already got the answer in the first post, so I don't see a point in keeping this thread open. I would message my RuneScape friends to ask them about this, but the problem is I play RuneScape alone, I use skype and facebook to talk to friends. I will not be making a new thread on this message board for a long time, and I'm sticking to that.

Agen
I'd kill them. Nothing wrong with free dragon bones :D. Also, his stats are fairly mediocre except his combat stats are mid 90s and his thieving (hold your breath) has 34.7m xp. Yep. Also, his stats are fairly mediocre except his combat stats are mid 90s and his thieving (hold your breath) has 34.7m xp. Yep. Let me tell you the reason why most of my skills are nowhere near 99. Because I don't play the game to get as many 99 skills as possible, I play the game for fun. Killing monsters is what I find fun, that's something I enjoy doing. The reason why my slayer level isn't very high is because I like to kill monsters I choose along with monsters that the slayer masters want me to kill. The reason why I love pickpocketing knights is because I love doing math. Which is something I do when pickpocketing those knights. So yeah, getting as many 99 levels as possible might be something most RuneScape players want, but that's not something I want. The only times I train skills other than thieving, slayer and the combat skill (except summoning since it is a shameless ripoff of something I love) is when I make items out of the drops the monster drop. That's right, unlike other players I pick all the drops. Except seeds and charms.
Powerfrog
I'd just like to say, i envy you blaze. I wish i could just be contempt with killing red dragons with my trusty battle axe. That sounds like so much fun! Instead i force myself to kill mithril dragons with the chaotic rapier and dragon defender because that is whats 'best'. And i only pick up drops that are most efficient to be picked up, leaving still valuable but 'not worth the time' items to rot away. I'm not sure why you hate summoning with such a passion though. It has nothing to do with pokemon other than both involving powerful combat creatures. And if you think pokemon started that, you clearly aren't aware of EVERY OTHER FICTIONAL CREATURE EVER. I urge you to give it a try, you might even make a new dragon killing buddy with Mr Arctic bear.

blakdragon39
I wouldn't mind red dragons being a slayer monster. They get no love. Almost zero reason to kill them. :P I also don't understand the pokemon/summoning connection though. I own at least one game from every generation.. sometimes more than one. :P (And also the remakes of older generations...) ANYWAYS. I've never before made a connection between pokemon and summoning. :P
