ganodermic breaks the magic boost for overloads and breaks storm of armadyl... :wall:

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by that...

Isn't the stuff used to make ganodermic armor common though? Wouldn't ganodermic be saturated in the market?

Exactly what I'm thinking. If anything, the price will drop next week when the armor durability gets boosted.

I think they're trying to make Magic a more viable way to train with in general. Cheap, decent armor that both has good melee defense and is readily obtainable, and a staff with fairly cheap spells assuming you gather the flakes yourself.

I don't mind it. It doesn't kill Virtus, and Torva will be safe once again after the slash reduction, although Torva woulda survived regardless

I think you got it the other way round, the staff is cheap and readily obtainable, and the armor is decent if you gather the flakes yourself.

The polypore spores are priced currently at 100 each, even with 20 gp per fire rune, it still comes out only half as much as a single death rune, and does much more damage than Fire Blast.

Jagex should have made the staff destroyed when it runs out of charges, and not re-chargeable. That way the spores and sticks would also be good money.

Hell no, that would make mage PvM so much more expensive. It's finally as cost efficient as Melee. Save for the polypore staff, all level 90+ spells cost well over 1 - 2k each.

True but remember the intention of Jagex was to make this a place where players with high level slayer could make good money. Depends a bt on the nerve of the armour next week if that will remain the case...

Considering that spores and flakes will always be needed for repairs and the armour and weapon aren't a one off drop then the price should stabilise at a relatively acceptable price imo.

Not to mention the fact that the Market is over-saturated right now because the content is new. Eventually they'll probably only be killed for slayer tasks or by people wanting to recharge they're own robes. Let's not forget that not everyone who can wear the armour or use the staff has 95 Slayer.

You can't just say that it was Jagex's intention. I think they wanted to make magic viable in slayer and pvm in general, which they did by a) introducing magic-weak monsters and b) introducing cheap powerful spells.

The FAQ does actually say that they wanted to reward high level slayers with a profitable drop that wasn't devalued.

tbh, the flakes/spores are always going to command a price, espcially the flakes.

I've just had a ganodermics task, there are about 2 people other than myself in the whole world. I'm pretty sure these will always remain 500k-2m/hr, due to the fact that the staffs are now the most cost effective weapons in the game, and that people will buy the armour if it lasts longer.

also, these arn't a a bad source for effigies <3

I wonder how will this affect ahrims?

The current demand for ahrims is very high, because of flake farmers/hunters/merchants whatever you call them.
