Well, the toolbelt just got a lot less useful for me... I can't use the knife in it to skin snakes while Temple Trekking. Boo.

Edit: It does, at least, use a hammer to fix bridges. Dunno about other uses in this minigame yet.

Knife works on the vines.

Is there actually a need to take stuff out once they patch a few issues with it?

I could be missing something but I don't think I can really think of a use for removing the tool, thb.

The mother [bleep]ing spade that you can't use at barrows or at clue scrolls?

The fact that there are two things you can do with logs? If you only have a knife or tinderbox, the default option for the logs is the knife or tinderbox.

You could store the sextant in there.

It could allow the storage of higher level pickaxes/woodcutting axes on the condition that you lose them if you die. (It's worth noting that hatches/pickaxes should be the only potential items to lose upon death with the toolbox. Also, in all honesty, it wouldn't be broken if you could use the toolbox to spawn unlimited tools of the kind you can currently put in the toolbelt.)

Potential glitches.

Oh look, another reason why we should be able to remove tools. This one probably qualifies under "potential glitches."

Can't use the knife for pit hunting either....not that it has a lot of use, but I prefer to get my own kyatt furs when I need them. Speaking of which, they should put the teasing stick in there also, it's not as if the thing has any other use.

It's simply impossible for them to actually remember every possible use of the knife, especially if they don't have complete documentation of their items by use. Staff changes over the years, it's easy to lose that info.

Yeah, it's unsurprising that they miss some, I'm just hoping they do actually add these uses in the near future and didn't skip over them on purpose.

Nope, just carry it in our inventory. I do pit hunting sometimes. Although not until this gets fixed, obviously.

You can't wield the Teasing Stick. However, the only Hunter tool that they've included with the belt, the Noose Wand, did require that you wield it. Clearly it's within their power to change details like that... But not to maintain consistency where it's needed.

@Strilmus, I seriously doubt they've ever kept track of uses like that. But shouldn't they be able to look through all their code for references to Knife use? I dunno. Maybe it would take too long, maybe it's not that clean cut.

I don't really care; this is just another situation showcasing RuneScape as a game made by Java Gaming Amateurs.

Everyone with a mind should know that a Onyx gem as Fury is much, much better than a Ring of Stone. Or are you saying i am stupid or ignorant of that? Because i am WELL aware of that fact.

And judging something´s popularity based on how many videos is flawed - but i meant that there is not much excitement for Ring of stone recolour considering so little videos.

The video where you acted as a Rock is more useful than a recolour mineral and plain looking stone.

I´m simply suggesting they should have made Ring of stone transformation into a Shooting Star because that would make it much better.

Why are you being such a pessimist?

It's not a matter of pessimism. You were arguing first that the recolor was boring. Then your true issue was brought up that you simply didn't like the item itself after your argument was turned on its head. Stating the main use of onyx was not to insult your intelligence, but to explain why most people don't even look twice at the Ring of Stone since you assumed that people didn't like it based on a few strange things (youtube videos being one). Yes, the ring of stone could have a fancier look to it, but if we're getting into changing the item itself, it makes more sense to change the item in line with the other jewelery that precedes it instead of another cosmetic piece of rubbish. That's all. :/

That sounds more like a bug than intentional. o_O

Toolkit doesn't work for grinding armadyl shards into dust

This is one thing I don't understand. Things like knives, hatchets, etc all have a wide use in day-to-day activities. The pestle and mortar have only very specialized uses. Why, then, is it in the toolbelt? o_O

Eh, it's a tool. And it's used for several herb secondaries. Also, a bolt mold isn't specialized? It makes a single item, lol.

Yeah pestle and mortar has loads of uses compared to all the moulds, which are only used in crafting.

Herblore seconds in general is obvious

Bird nest grinding for selling during wc and/or mtk collection.

Suqah teeth for farming

Making neem drupes into neem oil

Amardyl shards

etc.

The recolor brought along different shape rocks as well. And the recolour is boring. How is making a recolour and changing rock form not changing the item itself?

Of course Ring of stone should be on line with other jewelery like Fury - but that´s most likely not going to happen. So why not just make the ring transform you into Shooting Stars and that you can buy the level transformation in Loyalty programs?

Why waste a update on recolour with rock change - when you can make a great transformation such as a Star?

So, logically, the noose wand is not on the toolbelt.

OH WAIT

I find the concept of carrying a specific stick to poke predatory cats and buffalo still silly. I annoy enormous demons and banshees (like, seven banshees at once) with a tiny whip, I don't think I need a stick to mess with the wildlife.

btw, the pestle/mortar will automatically grind ashes for me even though i don't really care, but missing the shards of armadyl?

I think the main reason I look at you funny when you say that is because it comes completely out of left field. "Stone ring is boring and recoloring it is boring so it should do something different" is fine and makes sense to me, but "let's make it turn you into a shooting star!" seems kind of... random.

Yeah, I'm hoping they do a toolbelt update within the month to fix all the little things they missed. Even if they don't address the whole "you can't take anything back out!" bit (or "the spade is nigh-useless!" bit), just update the thing so it'll work on everything it ought to.

A star = meoterrite is a type of rock isn't it?

And i suggested Star transformation with Star lovers in mind.

Leaving them out was not ameans of saying that they belonged there. I honestly forgot they were on the belt, which is absolutely ridiculous.

Most of these issues with the tools should simply be reported as bugs, (since they should have options for them).

I do think they should add the spade completely (for any use except possibly digging if the code is too complex.) The teasing stick would be nice. I wouldn't mind the option to remove tools as well. But that isn't necessary.

They really should've been more careful about what actual player usage of items is. It doesn't take long to realize that a specialty store like naff won't work... It seems like they could code it nicer so that they only have to change one source of "how do I check for gp" across the entire game. But I guess its not that simple (based on the probability that they made less efficient design choices in order to save development time in the short run)

So there should be two lists: A list of in game uses that are missing or corrupted in addition to a list of items that should go onto the belt. Make sure to submit bug reports on the former and suggestions for the latter.

The having the tinderbox as a rightclick option on logs is not a bug though. Before you needed two clicks and now you need two clicks. However, now if you're trying to use a tinderbox in inventory you can still accidentally click the log first and bring up the fletching menu. Personally, if they're serious about the toolbelt being a means to reduce clicking in grinding, then they should allow a left click to burn logs as an option.

I think the thing that makes you scratch your head the most is the chain mould. Whereas bolts are commonly used, the chain mould makes an item that is nearly useless after BoD.

The thing that makes you scratch your head even more after that (by then possibly causing some sort of terrible rash, stop scratching it just makes it worse) is that the ROD mould isn't included. The chain mould is a quest exclusive item, so it makes you wonder why the rod mould isn't even considered, because what are you even using the chain mould for if you don't got the rod mould.

The bolt mould isn't a commonly used mould because it's used to make silver bolts, which are pretty much terrible at the one use they do have since there are better alternatives right away. You can't even hurt vyres with them...

Are there any members that actually have problems with bankspace nowadays? I'm running at something like 220+ free spaces.

Apparently there are and when asked why they come out with a blurb about they have stuff for every skill; which seems nonsensical to me.

I have a decent array of combat gear, probably more than is strictly useful, supplies for all skills neccessary, supplies specifically for doing shattered heart, a HUGE tab of "getting around" stuff with all sorts of teleports and keys in, a Tab of "junk" stuff that I like costume wise and won;t go into poh and a fairly full tab of uri items.

Plus my consumables tab is setup with a "potion grid" (a pile of 4,3,2 and 1 doses of each potion) to stop me losing them and then months later being like ohh I have 300 2 dose ppots.

Plus an assortment of handy for quest items.

And I STILL have hundreds of spaces free. About all I could add to my bank that would be of actual use is herb seeds (I sell em all atm as I'm a lazy farmer and just do trees for xp) and seconds for summoning (which I buy as needed)

It's not even like the 99s I have mean I've cleared out the item heavy skills, after all fishing, wc, mining, fletching, cooking and fm are all only like 2 - 5 item skills.

tl;dr:

People with full banks blaming it on "having stuff for every skill" just have poorly organised junk filled banks and if they were less oblivious to what is and is not useful they could easily shed a good 100-200 items. Eg rc specific items you need like 6 (possibly 7) items, not a whole tab of talismans: Wicked hood, 4 pouches, 1 pile of essence; the extra 7th would be grahak(sp?) for nat crafting.
