ALLaboutRS
Hi,I was wondering if you guys could tell me what the best f2p skill would be to obtain a 99 in to get the most money out of? I was going for woodcutting, at 67 right now..Then hopes got crushed by a post on here that fishing and woodcutting were a waste of time, and you get almost no money off it. Does anyone know the best skill to get for money? I also don't have much money, and I would like the fastest and most profitable skil.Thank you, Pker. JeRambo
Um .. iron ore and banking it in the falador mining resource deposit box? Not much to do in F2P for money besides merchanting .. sorry. :( Just play the game and have fun! "Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come." Sinkhan
Mining, Fishing, and WCing are all roughly the same in F2P, though I think mining is slightly ahead (especially once you get 85 for runite rocks) Pick one you like and go with it. No skill in F2P (and to be honest, not many in P2P either) makes that much money. However, some resources are still rising so profits are increasing slowly. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug

Mining clay or iron is more profitable than chopping yews at 99 woodcutting or catching lobsters at 99 fishing, and you don't even need a high mining level (since they hit max speed as soon as you have a rune pick). I'm told runite is pretty good as well. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
Vezon Dash
Mining without a doubt. Personally though, I'd just pay the $5 for members.
Derpun
There are also some good combat ways of getting cash in F2P, such as killing cows, this makes like 70K/hr if you have a high combat level.

wormy
Wow with iron ore @ 300+ yup looks like mining. Another slightly silly option is to get rc to 50 then gop to lvl 99, would take 4m-6m gop tokens 50-50ing would be 2500-3750 hours More afky option: gold bars to gold necklaces ~90k/hr gp 25k/hr xp? Emerald rings are also sometimes profitable.

Juco
You'll profit over 100m if you train your mining to 99 with banking iron ores. Also, you could get nice gp/xp rates when runecrafting but that's kinda slow..
The_Fray
Regular GOP (not 50/50) is decent moneymaking, just requires you to learn to game.
ALLaboutRS
Hmmmm... Lotta replies. Yes, I used to love to mine, but I didn't do that much of it.. I have 67 mining as well as woodcutting. i guess fishing is off the list. That makes things a lot better. I also like gop, 10k tokens is a mill in water tallys. Gop'n to 99 Rc? That could take forever.... I like the 99 Mining idea, but that's long as well. Still I'm going to consider it. DEFINATELY not going with cowhides. They suck, and that's that. 67 Mining or gop'n will give me 3x as much any day. I would " just pay the 5 bucks" but considering it's 7.99 for membership cards? I wanna get some good skills and do some research before I get mems. Thanks guys! I guess gop'n and Mining are my best bets. I'm the noob here, I'm just givin' you guys feedback. I'd love to here what else you guys can come up with! I'd really love to know. Pker.

I wanna get some good skills and do some research before I get mems. If you buy the Ultimate Game Card it is $20 for 3 months. (USA) It is a good idea to do some reading up on members before you jump into it though. But hey, it was a suggestion. Feel free to do what you want.
mlskid
If you're going to go and start members, even for a short time definitely know what you're going to do first. I'd recommend if you're getting it for a while to quest as it opens up SO much in the members world. Try this link for some more information on the subject. I found it especially helpful when I became a member about two years ago when i first became a member. Good luck and go for whatever floats your boat. EDIT: I would also recommend getting your stats for most of the quests before getting members too, but the choice is ultimately yours. ALLaboutRS
Wooot, thank for support. Yes! Good Job Miskid, tip.it is definately best place to go ahead and get all the news you need for runescape. Vezon, thank you, I just noticed that it was 20 bucks for 3 month membership. :o Thank you guys, I'm going to quest when I do get membership, but I'm going to set out a list of what I'm going to do. Now, back to skills. Any other advice or comments? Greatly appreciated! Thanks for support. Pker.
ALLaboutRS
Just some facts I've been lookin up. Mining- 372k iron ore from 30-99 Mining. Estimating ores to be about 350 due to changing prices of ge, so that's 130m. That's nice. Runecrafting- 1-99 2.6m airs.. Also there's putting into the consideration that there's multiple runes.. So I''m going to estimate 20m airs.. 17ea for airs, so that's 340m!!@!@This is definately not recommended, as this will take ages. Woodcutting- 72k Yews from 60-99. 'Bout 400 ea, so guessin 29m. Sorta easy, but it's reasonable. Fishing- 142k Lobsters, from 55-99. Guessin 100 ea, so yay 14.2m In the end, if anyone ever gets this endeavor done at these prices, months and months and months later... Gratz! You've just earned yourself 514m!! I doubt anyone will get this done soon, but If you do post here! (you maxed and 99 skill players don't count) Bye!
Hedgehog
You should consider using gp/hour not gp/99. It's a much better way of evaluating money making methods.
ALLaboutRS
Well, yes, Hedgehog, it would be better, to evaluate which skill is the best, but this thread was for the best 99 to obtain. Also, obtaining money as you get there..If I were to include a gp/hr observation, it'd be a money making guide. I made this thread to get runescape's community to post here what they feel is the best skill to obtain 99 in, and what the benefits of getting there are. But, thank you for suggestion. Pker. ALLaboutRS
I use this website for all my runescape needs and calculations. For all you out there who think Mining is the best method to obtain, or others who need a little tip on mining, here is what I use for my personal Mining needs.http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=mining_guide.htm
Hedgehog
It doesn't matter if you make 40m getting 99 woodcutting if you could have earned the money and gotten 99 wc faster elsewhere.
Troacctid
It doesn't matter if you make 40m getting 99 woodcutting if you could have earned the money and gotten 99 wc faster elsewhere.Yeah. If you chopped yews to 99 woodcutting, it'd take about 360~ hours and you'd earn 29m. But if you chopped willows, it'd only take about ~250 hours. So if you chopped willows for ~250 hours and spent the extra 110 hours mining for 300k gp/hr profit, you'd have spent the same amount of time and you'd have the same woodcutting level, but you'd have made more money (even if you assume willows are 0 gp unsellable junk) and you'd have gotten a bunch of mining xp to boot. ALLaboutRS
Anyone else have a favourite skill, that gave them tons of cash and fast exp at the same time? Greatly appreciated, and I'm doing runecrafting at the moment. It's not that great money, or the fastest skill to train. I like it though, If you wanna train it, do some earths with varock tele. You can still double your cash, and get some good exp as well, if you're f2p
