Ok. Ico should be rejoining us, and with the events of last session now may be a good idea for a little bit of perspective and such.

If people are just happy with the state of things then Ico can join the rest of the group and we can carry on.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I won't be there for the start of the session at the very least. Nieces birthday and perhaps my step-dads funeral.

Hey all, for the next session I am planning somewhat of a dungeon crawl, wanted to know if people were entirely adverse to that?

On the plus side we have maps, on the negative it is kinda filler (Though there will be stuff hidden around the place so it isn't just 'You see another room...it looks like the last 50')

Can people please let me know as I can arrange an alternative if need be. (I just need to know one way or the other =P)

Ah, well...Nex had to go do Jazz.

Mask died in the second round of combat.

Zareph died later on.

So people are either rolling up new characters, or not here.

+650 xp anywho.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Me: Taking 34 damage in two turns (Which is double my health) from a group of 6-8 enemies. If that didn't kill me, the attempts to revive me did.

Zareph: Taking an absurd amount of damage constantly throughout the session and only stopping when Archi said "I think you should have died a couple of minutes ago".

We may or may not have also been very unlucky, Archi mentioned rolling many 10s.

What's the starting EXP?

A very extended series of rocks and demons falling on my head. I made it into the fifth room, out of about 30? Yeah there was no way anybody in the party was going to survive that.

And then I retroactively exploded because I realised that you died when you reached your negative toughness modifier and not negative toughness.

Heh. I might have been able to help actually. But how about we ignore that place now. Hm?

edit: Also, Archi, did I get that 650 EXP or did I not since I wasn't in attendance?

I suggested some backstory to Archi for the intermediate weeks between last session and the next. It was somewhat optimistic, but he complained about the lack of fitting music and so provided this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_EApxM7WTo&feature=related

I thought "Oh, that's a nice tune, I suppose things can have happy endings after all."

Then

Ok...I will begin rewording your adventure

And this replaces the former tune in my head:

Edit: Heh, looks like I was right to be a little bit apprehensive. But all's well that ends well.

Looks like the route from now on will be more one of traditional Dark Heresy; I'm not the GM, but I think it would be for the best if our recently fallen comrades take up new mantles more befitting the Inquisition. I'm not sure what the guidelines might be, from what I understand I may well be a special case, but the Inquisitor I now serve under is somewhat more flexible than the norm.

Ok then. This is the story for the current situation, for people Genning new characters:

The battle that claimed Mask's life and sees Zareph mortally wounded, also sees Gerund knocked spark out. As Zareph staggers onwards, his fate broadly unknown, Gerund regains a little conscienceness and, he too, staggers off, but this time away from the certain death that awaited him inside.

The events are largely a blur, Gerund clutching at anything that he can steady himself against, Mask's blood soaked into his tunic and cloak...little peices of brain intermixed with blood in his tangled mat of hair. He collapses from the door to the tower, his body laying, gasping for respite, barely beyond the Witches' domain. Yet here we see some good left in the world, as the guards who they had met earlier see him, and, after relieving him of his earthly goods, take him to the local inn, pay for a night's room and depart from our tale.

The next morning Gerund wakes up, his armour stolen, his coin purse empty, his arm with several saw marks at the shoulder and a splitting headache. He groans once, moans twice, then falls out of the bed and lies in a tangle of sheets and limbs until noon. Now the Landlord's wife enters our tale, for she sees Gerund, wrapped in the old bedsheets...now very red with blood...and takes pity on him. She washes him, and bandages some of his wounds, and orders a little soup for him to regain some of his strength.

Gerund, as weak as a kitten, mews affectionately, his brain quite addled by the events of the past weeks, but gradually, over the next week, his memories return and on the Sunday he silently departs from the Inn. From here he takes a few odd jobs, and with the coppers he earns he buys passage back to Lightgate, back to Reigan's forge, and, with the assistance of Forge Regian, he forges a set of plain plate mail, with Zweihander.

However things have not be uneventful in Lightgate, no, not uneventful at all...It would seem that servants of Hell have been conducting their reign of terror on the good men and women of Lightgate after the priest was brutally killed some weeks ago. The new priest had called on two Inquistors, but both vanished shortly thereafter and, with the priest dying mysteriously shortly thereafter, the town was plagued with waves of Imps and half-men. The townsfolk called on Caster to send the army to deal with these evils, but the Quistor, high in Caster's great towers, paid little heed, thinking only to send the message down to Priestown...and so, months later a band of Inquistors, under Interrogator Drydark, rode north. Ahead of them was sent an Acolyte, Grim, was sent to make ready the town for their arrival.

Meanwhile Gerund had taken it upon himself to end the terror and so had sent out many soul spectres to track the malevolent energies. While most turned up to be wild goose chases, one had proved itself accurate. As Gerund approached the energy he heard a young man call out, and so, thinking not of the risks, he manifested his arm and set forth to aid the man...Yet that man was Acolyte Grim. At the first moment he did not notice the malign arm of Gerund for he was gripped in the claws of a greater Imp, a devious creature that one does not wish to meet. Gerund charged forwards, his blade in his hands, and struck deep into the beast's hide. The beast recoiled and, in an instance, disapperate.

Grim, though he had been spare a terrible death, immediately drew his blade and held it to Gerund's chest "Stop create of the Night, for I have seen yout wikedness and it abhors me."

"My wikedness allows me to fight those creatures of the night that stalk and murder without care for your abhorance. Perhaps I am damned, but because of me many others need not be risked." Gerund retorted with unusual eloquence.

Grim stood, perplexed for a moment by the juxtaposition. "You are a beast of the Night and must be put to death. You will be judged by my Interrogator, or you shall die here by my hand."

"Then I shall submit, I have no wish to die, not wish to kill those who tread the path of light."

Lightgate was, for a moment, spared two possible guardians dying in unneccessary battle, but its perils were not yet at an end. Grim found himself confronted with a desecrated alter, and a town who did not believe that God could save them. He immediately called forth the loyal and order a great pyre be built, onto which the unfaithful be thrown. The townspeople recoiled at this great terror, but the zealots lept to their work and immediately set about the task. Gerund watched, and when Grim walked past he remarked "You are committing a great evil here, and I am abhored."

Grim, a member of the Inquistion, was taken aback and remarked "What know you devil spawn?"

Gerund turned to him "For I am damned, and thus I see the damned where the damned wander, and you, if you do this thing, will be damned as well."

Night fell on the town, and soon the fires were burning. The unfaithful, those who refused to accept the salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ, had been rounded up. Grim looked uncertain, but resolved, and called on the first of the unfaithful to be called forwards. Gerund stepped ahead "I cannot let you do this thing, it is evil. I will stop you."

"You cannot stop the Inquistion Hellspawn!" came the zealatious call of one in the crowd.

Gerund stood firm, and nothing happened for a moment. Grim stood, uncertain before he hestitantly drew his sword "There is but one alternative." He took a small phial of swirling white from his pocket and threw it to Gerund. "You will break this on the ground, and fight the avatar that it summons."

Gerund caught the phial "You want me to summon an avatar of the Light and murder it?"

Grim stared back, without saying a word.

"Then I refuse. I will not slay an agent of the Light and damn others from the help it could have given."

"Then you sha-"

"Then he shall be commended!" came the booming voice of Drydark "What is this? A pyre of the damned? Surely we are not so far gone as to need resort to these measures."

"I, er...Yes Intergator." Grim's responce wavered.

"And you, you are neither man nor beast are you?"

"I am a man who became beast so that others should not suffer, sir." Gerund said with a defiance.

"Good. I can use a man like you."

"But!" Came one of the Inquistor's standing behind Drydark "He must be destroyed!"

"And he shall, but our Lord works in mysterious ways, even this creature may be part of his Almighty plan."

The Inquistor bit his tongue uncomfortably, the others looked little more impressed by their Interrogator's radicalism.

"You" Boomed Drydark, pointing at a slightly plump looking woman "Bring food and wine for my comrades. Everyone else go back about your business." Then he set his eyes on Gerund "Come with me. I am going to read your soul."

Similarly, Earth, if you want to do anything, there are a couple od Ingame weeks going spare.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I was WONDERING where these guys were but.. your story don't work. There's no more Forge Reigan. It's been sitting empty for a long time now. So I guess Reigan just goes off to find something interesting to do beceause I can't compete with that story.

I didn't think my armor would be stolen, and in my version of the story I got the Zweihander off of a German immigrant blacksmith.

I say Archi should change it so I call in a debt from that big kingdom with all the countless suits of armour that we saved from an immortal dictator, to have them lend me a suit. And then I get the Zweihander like I said before. :D

A boring story is more fun. You can use it as a base for a more interesting imaginary one.
