tripsis Posted January 22, 2012 Share Posted January 22, 2012 Farewell & TET Memories As most of you are aware, yesterday officially marked the end of our Tip.It Events Team with our closing event, a Wilderness battle between TET and RS Wiki. TET began in August 2004. Since then, it has worked to provide the community with fun and exciting events on a regular basis, usually with four events a month. Unfortunately, over the last couple of months we have seen a large shift in the community. People are less interested in "just for fun" events and are more interested in events that will yield some kind of profit or benefit, as made evident by decreasing event attendance levels. While there's nothing wrong with this shift in the community, it has made it difficult for us to continue with TET. So it is with a heavy heart that TET is officially coming to a close. On behalf of the entire team I would like to thank all past event attendees and hosts. We greatly appreciate your patience and support over the years. We have had a terrific run and have shared some wonderful memories. We have had good times and we have had bad times, but we will never forget all the fun that was had and the support that we received from our community. We hope that our great event memories will continue to live on in the months and years to come. For those of you who are still interested in fun events, just look around! We all dressed up in pink (I'm the 4th one back in the first pic, and I think that's Jaffy standing in front of me in pics 2 and 3 :grin: ) and went from pub to pub wreaking havoc. Or at least hilarity. Even Mod Howes came out (pic 4). Good memories. <3: Check out my blog to read the Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero. Sad to see the team finally come to a close after having such a successful 7 1/2 years. :( I wish I could have attended more events over the past year but sadly work always conflicted with the Saturday events and TETAU didn't fit my timezone. I'll definitely never forget all the memories made during 2009-2010 when I was able to be there for almost every event. Here's just a few pictures I had saved over my time attending the events, sorry I don't know which events they are all from but most of them range from 2009 to mid 2010 with a few from 2007-2008. Even though I didn't really attend tet too much the last year, I really have fond memories when I think back to all the events I've been in. (I'm even spotted in one picture there, and I actually remember asking who's the quiz master like it was yesterday. My greatest memory must have been the war between Zamorak, Saradomin and Guthix in the wildy, with Guthix being squished between the hammer and anvil. Being personally thanked is a feeling that doesn't go away and it hasn't. With my time on the team, from the good and the bad, I can say I do not regret a moment with it at all. Thank you team members. Thank you team leaders. Thank you administrators. And most importantly, thank you to the community for providing the opportunity to be a part of this team. With out you, we would have not been here. I would not have met some wicked awesome (and some crazy) friends (yes, I'm talking about you Omni). TET may be done offering events every weekend for 7.5 years, but TET will never be done in my heart and my mind. May the memories live on. RIP Shiva. As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. I miss the good old times, way back when people actually enjoyed our events, and nobody looked was crazy about money. Sure, the drop parties pulled in a lot of people looking for money, but it was still focused on fun, rather than making money. I actually only continued playing Runescape because of the Tip.it community. But, the game develops, and so does the community. It's been years since we were able to have proper events. I actually didn't expect TET would survive this long. The memories we have are something we should cherish. I made many friends when I first started coming to events, then I made even more friends when I actually joined the team. It's been a crazy few years, and though I haven't been with you guys since I left, I still remember that time fondly. You all know how to find me.
