Limes
I used to run on 50 fps everyday, but ever since the bot nuke, its slowly been dropping and my average fps now is 15-25.My computer has 3gb ram and I have a decent internet connection. Think I need a new computer?
Jaffy1
I doubt you'll need a new computer. A lot of people (including myself) are experiencing FPS issues lately, so the problem appears to be on Jagex's end. Tip.It Website Crew Leader[hide=Quotes]I love it how Jafje comes outa nowhere and answers my questionsHehe now we know what real life does...drugs, drugs, more drugs. Thank god we are addicted to something that won't kill us. [/hide]
tripsis
Jagex have said a few times that fixing FPS issues is their first priority so hopefully we'll see improvements soon :) - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
JPMC Mate
Yeah, Jagex will hopefully fix the mouse lag as well. Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous. HexiledRazz
Everyone is getting it. Even people with serious builds; it's not your system. It's the game. It started for me after the new tutorial. I used to be able to play in 50 FPS everywhere(Except major lag locations, though) on max settings & resizable. Now i struggle to maintain ~30 FPS on low settings. It's exceptionally bad in Burthorpe and Taverley. Hexiled Razz. Player since March 8th, 2005. Z_Berenice
I can keep 50 fps when playing on entertaiment / high performance mode on pretty much everywhere, and even then, I still get random freezes / fps drops on certain situations + a new pletora of bugs, so I just play on low performance / energy saving mode and still get 30 ish fps on even the most laggy places (stays at 50 on most locations). That's with a maxed m18x tho, so trust me when I say the problem is not on your end, unless you want to spend over 3k bucks just to run a browser game. Didn't get this laptop just to play runescape, I just always wanted a maxed alienware, the one before this was semi-maxed and still gave me terrible fps issues when playing runescape. Kind of funny how top end computers are having problems with runescape, which is supposed to be one of the less demanding mmos in terms of hardware, while other WAY MORE DEMANDING games run as smooth as a knife through butter even on max settings (and I'm talking about the very lastest released games). Right now there's a serious memory leak and poor coding issue on Jagex's end, it didn't start with bot nuke, it was way before that actually, but the bot nuke made it worse, it was like forcing a circle shaped object through a triangle shaped hole. Any serious game programmer would probably quit before trying to fix that mess, which is why this "solution" is taking so long. You know there's a serious problem when even with a top end computer, there's still no garantee that you'll be able to run a browser game... You know there's a serious problem when even with a top end computer, there's still no garantee that you'll be able to run a browser game...I can even add to this that Jagex is not using (or at least not properly using... 2 different meanings there) OpenGL/DirectX fallback functionality. It's why systems were having issues back even when we were on RuneTek 4, the previous RuneScape graphics rendering system and game engine. Heck, their File I/O and Graphics would get very mysteriously cross-linked back then on systems having issues due to the lack of fallback and sanity checking. I'm surprised their development environments even let them publish the code they're currently using, because it feels like they took the safety checks offline if they were able to! Honestly, RuneScape isn't even a game worth launching anymore. Since that new Dominion Tower was released, things have been really bad. Now, the mouse input is screwed up due to their latest boss release for that accursed place! I don't think things will get better unless they remove that junk heap, and its' existence even hurts F2P. ~Mr. D. V. "Torqued off by too many bad updates..." jasignhagj
I have a GTX 460 and even I've been getting FPS dips a lot lately, especially in the new Burthrope area. I wouldn't worry about getting something better now, just wait and see if Jagex fixes the problem.
