Sam
Here I present 26 images I have produced as backgrounds for a 'psychedelic alphabet', as part of a graphics assignment as college. With this images I have attempted to recreate the aesthetic often visualised by the mind in altered states of consciousness. All images you see here are all my own photographs - just heavily manipulated. All of these images were produced making heavy use of the polygonal lasso tool, the 'transform' tool and some images more so than others, intense color manipulation. 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM
tripsis
I'm not really into psychedelic stuff but I quite enjoyed these two: http://i.imgur.com/htmk1.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/pX6id.png Cool :P - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
Sam
I can see why you like those images. I've tried to mix in a little bit of geometry into these too, the image that has the fields within the shapes was fun to produce. 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM
stevepole
I think the field one is my favorite. I also liked this one too: Overall though they're pretty good, about a third of them I don't care for, but you can't like them all.
Estonian dude
You have posted the photo of which you did the field one, right? Me thinks it was a panorama, nice to see it used after so long time. Quite creepy, trying to figure out how you did most of those. So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends. RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.I strike out every other week.Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.Randox pretty much stays rational.Etc, etc
Shiny
I love the concept, and feel it is executed brilliant on some, and poorly on others. http://i.imgur.com/qDP14.png - This, for example, is a less effective use of the psychedelic design. What is shown is an ambiguous, aesthetically unpleasing imaged. To be blunt, the inverse also looks tacky. http://i.imgur.com/pX6id.png - The former pales in comparison to this shot. Here, I feel with the strong colours and subject matter aid the strong symmetrical and geometric composition. In short, the image is enhanced, rather than degraded because of the effects. Other favourites include http://i.imgur.com/htmk1.png, and http://i.imgur.com/CeSd3.png. The latter has a fractal like quality to it, which I think is quite neat. The rest of them weren't particularly my cup of tea in the slightest. But really liked those two.
