Farming Questions

On my quest to make bank and to get 99 farming I have invested a lot into this.

My questions are

1) Does the greater green fingers aura stack with the magic secutors or the ju ju pot?

2) Does the magic secutors and ju ju farming pot stack together with each other?

3) are watermelons worth the time doing?

1) Yes (e.g., you can get 1 + 1 from juju + 1 from aura = 3 herbs from one pick)

2) Yes, but additively, so juju will give you extra herbs based on the 'base' number (before the +10% from secateurs)

3) Not if you're only doing herb runs, as you won't manage to harvest and plant in the four patches before your dose runs out. They're also quite expensive; I personally did herbs, maples, papayas and calquat from 80ish to 99 (plus the odd Spirit Tree).

2) Yes, but additively, so juju will give you extra herbs based on the 'base' number (before the +10% from secateurs)

Evidence of this? The secateurs boost isn't an extra herb pick, like juju/greenfingers, you get a proper increased chance of the crop surviving more picks, like compost. It would make sense to give each pick chances at extra herbs from other effects, not distinguishing between extra picks from secateurs and others.

It is the explanation given to me by several people when I asked what juju farming potions did - I can't say I have any evidence or reliable sources though. So take my response with a pinch of salt.

To be clear I am 96 farming, have all 5 patches, and all lunar spells unlocked. Only thing I don't have is the hunter level for ju jus. I am also saving for master green fingers.

So would it be worth it for watermelons?

Don't bother with farming until you get juju.. You CAN NOT consistently farm torstols for profit unless you always use remote farm, which is unreasonable.. And lol, its only like 1k profit per run on average.

As for snaps, you are looking at almost double profit by using juju.

But in answer to your question: do as many patches of watermelon as you can while still hitting all 5 patches in under 5 minutes.

Thats the problem because watermelons can take quite a long time. At the moment I am doing fell stalks for the best xp. Is the ju ju farming with torstols even worth the profit, I mean you need 45 herbs per run just to break even, I am assuming you get like 90 herbs per run with ju ju?

I would love 90 torstols a run, haha. (For the record, my record is 75). 45 herbs per run is the average WITH juju potions. The thing with torstol is that a large portion of your profit comes from seeds back (around 110k profit per run from seeds back). If you are interested, I'm pulling all of these numbers from this.

If you have a Gmail account you can make a copy and edit it.. That's actually why I made it.

As you can see, it scroll of life doesn't make a very big difference except for snapdragon and especially torstol. (~20k and ~110k, respectively)

Farming is still very enjoyable even without Juju potions. :thumbsup: Granted you may not profit as much as you would with them, but I still wouldn't say "Don't farm without Juju!@" :P

However, Watermelon become pretty impossible to squeeze in once you do start using Juju potions, simply because you're only given a few minutes before the potion wears out - if you're doing Watermelon in all 8 Allotment patches, there simply isn't enough time to harvest them all as well as your herbs.

I personally kept farming Watermelon until I unlocked and started using Juju potions, at which point I stopped growing them. :thumbup: (Although just be advised that Watermelon are pretty expensive to grow; Strawberries are a nice alternative as they're relatively cheap.)

Edit: Or as an alternate way, you could always just plant Watermelon at the last patch you visit on your herb runs. That way you can finish all your herbs and then just harvest those two allotment plots and not have to worry about your Juju potion wearing off. :thumbup:

To say that farming isn't worth it at all without Jujus would be a stretch. Snaps are perfectly fine without jujus, they will just make significantly less.

Jujus are still a #1 priority to get as a farmer, but you can still manage without them.

Also scroll does very little for profits to be honest.

I guess my previous post wasn't clear.. I meant don't farm torstols without juju; everything else is still reasonably profitable. I even mentioned snaps in my post.

And Sink, I suggest you take a look at those pictures I posted.. scroll of life is such a cheap reward for a free 20k per run from snapdragons. That's an extra 10% profit.

So I downloaded your spreadsheet and I was wondering How do I use it? I did not see a difference when I typed yes for ju ju section, nor did i really see how the scroll of life would come into effect. can you help me out please? Also for aura what do I type in as I do not have the master greenfingers yet but I have the greater one.

I'm not quite sure what the problem is.. You aren't supposed to be downloading it, you need to make a copy of it. Log in to Gmail -> File -> Make a copy..Then you can edit the cells in green.

I have drop down menus for the juju section, so you don't need to worry about typing in different answers. I actually partially disallow it so that people only give the answers that will work. Scroll of life comes into effect by solely increasing profits based on my rate of getting seeds back.

As for auras:

No aura = none

Greenfingers = T1

Greater = T2

Mater = T3

unreleased = T4

so yeah I typed the T1, T2, T3 in for auras and the spreadsheet is not producing any results. Even with out the drop down menu typing it in the box should work. So is something wrong here? I also saw on another post that some of the calculations might be wrong. I believe it was the torstol farming thread. Can you confirm that the aura box works because nothing i have tried is making the results come through.

*Chuckles* The aura information was correct, I was just looking at it wrong.

Anyways, Hedgehog says it works for her and I asked a few people on Skype to check it out, and they said it works as well. I have no idea why it isn't working for you.

well to clear things up, the drop down menu shows as Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, and not t1, t2, t3. It works for me now thanks. Did not know remote farming makes so much of a difference.
