Bonus experience goal

Rangus

Recommended Posts

Hey all, I've decided to set a goal for myself to stay awake for the ENTIRE bonus experience weekend. That means no sleep from the moment it starts until it finishes. Shall be stocking up on energy drinks and candy to attempt to get me though.

Most likely I will train agility for the entire event, possibly until a 1.1 bonus, then i shall have a break, do some summoning or anther skill I dislike.

If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions on training methods, or methods to keep myself awake for this event let me know :P

Hey this doesn't really belong in General Discussion so I've moved it into Help and Advice due to your question in the last paragraph. If you want to document your sleepless nights then you can create a blog in Blogscape :).

So I have taken up your advice and made a blog dedicated to my bonus exp weekend. Lets hope all goes to plan this coming weekend and I'm not sent to a loony bin from sleep deprivation :P

I'd actually suggest possibly taking power naps, they'd be a lot more helpful because even if you're hyped up on energy drinks, you may still make mistakes while clicking which would reduce what you could get per hour. :P

Are you sure this is a good idea?

We won't know until he tries, but meanwhile it's fun to watch :P.

If you want to do something to relax your fingers, I suggest woodcutting teaks with juju potions and hi-alching the logs, it's pretty good xp (100k xp/hr at 85ish) and very low apm.

If you need to stay awake with exciting stuff, hunt some glacors or tormented demons :) (note: make sure you get back to your grave in time).

I heard it was 50 hours; but the principle is the same, and the linked guide also mentions that the doctors told the author that a little more time like that and he would likely have died.

To be honest the most I would try to no-life would be a single night with a long nap right after that.

Haha. Good luck with this! I would try, but I'm a little too busy IRL... :(

Agility for that long..I don't think I would make it to 10 hours.

Don't overdue it.. drink lots and walk around for a few minutes now and then.

I strongly advise against staying up that long. I actually advise against staying on the computer longer than a 5 hour stretch. I've done 14 hour stretches back when I was a kid and they are grueling and very bad for your health.

^^^ and Jeremy means drink lots of WATER. Energy drinks dehydrate you and also take a heavy toll on your kidneys as well as your heart. In case you are thinking you are too young to face these health risks there are reported cases of adolescent injuries due to these things.

Talk on the phone for hours with schoolmates and you have an active social life.

Raid naxx with some schoolmates on WoW and you're a fat menace to society with no ambition or motivation.

Eh I know somebody that stayed up 2 weeks straight to win a radio contest. Not to mention people with general insomnia going for 3-4 days without sleep at a time, still alive too. I don't see how 2 days would kill a person.

Your body will shut down before it gets to a point where you die DuskEclipse, we tried this at uni for some silly reason, long after the 'turning on' of the McDonalds M became funny, my friend who was going for a week of staying awake thought he was a duck, then went from quacking to suddenly passing out. He just slept for two days after that we couldn't wake him rofl

 still a blog would be great to read, but I am not 100% sure its a good thing to stay awake that long.

I say go for it, perhaps keeping a blog updated with your progress would help keep you on target (and would be an entertaining read). I suggest having some afk xp such as Artisans Workshop banked to give your hand and wrist a rest from agility though

Besides, its not like you can't stop at any time if you need to.

Do 30 hrs, sleep 8hrs, do 30 hrs.

If you don't sleep in the 8hrs the 2nd set of 30-40hrs you will end up getting crap xp/hr in whatever it is you are doing as you will be mentally fatigued.

In each 30 hr block if you want to easily stay awake.

Energy drinks will work if you spread them out, they only give a short term boost, drink water as well this will avoid getting a headache.

Candy is bad, eat proper meals, or this will make you more tired.

Get 5-10minutes fresh air every 5hrs or so at least. This will rest your eyes/mind for a short while.

Shower at least twice in each 30hr block.

Should be all you need.
