blakdragon39
A lot of people seem to be complaining about how useless teleports are now with the lodestones.. or are thinking of replacing current methods of doing things with new methods that incorporate lodestones. But it seems a lot of people are forgetting that home tele can only be used every HALF HOUR. And I teleport around a lot more than that. Wrong.Half hour limit was removed a good year+ ago. .....What? Okay, I agree, this is ridiculous then. :P
Arceus
Lodestones make teleports for normal training obsolete. Most likely you're not running around with runes the whole time and by the time you withdraw from a bank, you'll have tellied with lodestones already. Teleports are pretty much only useful for training now.Runecrafting might still need them, unless my idea works... "Fight for what you believe in, and believe in what you're fighting for." Urza285
In this day in age it's all about efficiency and I don't think these lodestones are competitive enough to make the argument worth it. Besides its not like jagex couldn't put a 5 minute cool down on it to crush the thought of them being serious competition. UserOnRS
The only way I see lodestones to be useful are those times you forget a teleport when you're Runecrafting or something, so you can get to Edge bank for instance without having to home teleport to Lumbridge first and then teleport using a glory. Most of the time when I teleport I need to teleport to a number of places, such as farm runs, daily runs, JOT runs etc. I hardly ever use the home teleport feature and it doesn't seem to have made much more useful for me, except low level players who don't have access to runes, tele-tabs and the like. The only teleports I can see being useful are the bandit camp teleport (doubt the scrolls from clue rewards will cost 35k each any more :( ), and Lunar Isle and perhaps Port Sarim teleports because of the difficulty in getting to those places. EDIT: Maybe the Catherby teleport for farm runs too on second thought.

I'd add yanille and draynor for penguin hunting since penguins often get in the city wall and manor house and these teleports drop near enough that cast time < run time for next nearest or should just about be. strilmus
actually, a lot of the teleports are placed in strategic locations, like taverly and yanille teleports drop you off near the house portals if you're not carrying teletabs, or edge being closer to the monastery, or port sarim being closer to the boats, or al kharid actually not teleporting you into the palace courtyard because sure everybody really cares about the courtyard hurr they're not like super efficiency training boons but sometimes when you want to get somewhere without digging up something stupidly obscure or picking out runes in your bank, it's right there in your pocket already varrock is kind of useless though the teleports are close enough that i'd rather use a slower teleport than bother with a glory ammy... Alg
They're way to slow to be practical. Furthermore, they're all out of the way. They don't change anything.Except maybe for F2Pers who don't have all of that nice teleport jewelry... Doesn't seem like it's meant to be game-changing for high level P2P'ers. Platinum_Myr
They're more than sufficient for general getting around, but not competitive against teleports for being quick. I would still rather use jewelry for doing serious training, rather than wait the 5-10 secs it takes to teleport via the home teleport. Overall, I think its a great update. It simply increases the destinations that home teleport can take you :) Maxed since Sunday, January 9th, 2014Completionist since Wednesday, June 4th, 2014
Headnazgul
I will never understand efficiency fanatics... If these teleports save me from having to go all the way to a bank, or simply withdraw any item from the bank I'm already at, I'll gladly choose the lodestone teleport. It doesn't bother me one bit to wait an additional ~0.25 minutes, or whatever that is in your game ticks, to get where I am going. This makes my life a hell of a lot easier, especially since the lunar and ancient lodestones are already unlocked. The less I have to withdraw from my bank, recharge, buy, or whatever, the better. As for the cosmetic gaze auras, I think they aren't prominent enough, unless they plan on creating tier 2's which have a particle trail and more glowyness or something. Honestly these should have been 5-10k max. And what's with the abyssal gaze? You almost can't see it at all... and I was really interested in that one :(
Platinum_Myr
Well, I would rather use a teleport spell if I'm already going to have jewelry (castlewars tele to bank, elder kiln ring teleport etc) but you're right these are a lot more convenient overall. Dire_Wolf
Well now the Amulet of Glory has been made 75% useless. Farming just became a lot cheaper now that teleport runes are no longer required for many patches. And stupidity continues. Elite Quest Kit (M.A) - Toolbelt made it crap (why do i have it in my bank )?.Deadliest catch reward fish nets - useless.

You almost can't see it at all... and I was really interested in that one :(If you think that one's hard to see you'll hate the rest of them even more. The Abyssal one is actually probably the easiest to see, although it looks more like you have gaping holes in your face than any kind of glow... If you get one, make it one that contrasts your skin color.By the way, the item itself has only one of the corners filled. I'm with you, though - if they plan on making these upgradeable, an 18k STARTING price is ridiculous, especially since they just reduced the prices of the other upgradeable auras permanently.EDITJust realized that that teaser a week or so ago for the updated Void armor/armor update might've had one of these lol
DarkDude
Of course they do the auto-fill tool belt things after I got around to filling mine at the weekend =P. Lodestones are fairly useful, not game changing by any means but will definitely get some use out of them. Aura sale is nice, I now have all the original tier 1 auras on my main and bought all the emotes that were on sale too and the cheapest costumes. Still have 71k points on my noob account (which is the max I believe, although I could have missed a day or two over christmas).
The_Fray
The Port Sarim one is particularly useful as its probably the fastest way to get to Pest Control and maybe even the charter ships. Previously i used to use spirit tree to Brimhaven to access charters. This might be faster considering the time spent withdrawing duel ring from bank, teleporting to MA and then going to Brimhaven. JeRambo
^ Yes, it might be. Port Sarim one will also be useful for some of the hard clues that require you to go down there. I'm enjoying the Catherby lodestone for my herb runs as I used to run from Camelot. (using regular spellbook) Can't be asked to swap spellbook for trollheim teleport. Hopefully they will release a few more in the future .. (trollheim one please!) Al-kharid loadstone is pretty nifty for my cactus spines as well. I'm liking these discounted auras. Gonna go buy a few soon. :D (Probably the fishing and woodcutting ones) "Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come." Hope that answers your curiosity. Got off my bum and quickly unlocked all the lodestone sites. From the fact they were considered the "easy set", it looks like I will be doing more unlocking in the future. At least it's handy if I feel too lazy to find my teleport items to those locations (except for Varrock teleports for obvious reasons).
xByrdman
How awesome would it be if they eventually added barrows or gwd lodestones? Or a Tzharr(clear the fight caves) one an obviously the requirement for barrows(loot the chest 100 times) and gwd ones(defeat the 4 bosses, not nex though)would have to be pretty tough. Idk maybe these places would be a little much but I think it would be sweet

I could see certain Wilderness spots in terms of a hard set (if they decide doing that), but God Wars seems a bit too much since it'd be too convenient. Curious, do you need to see Xuan to turn off the eye effects if you wish to? It's a bit silly to ask, but I felt it was appropriate to inquire about it since it's the only thing from the new batch I am remotely intrigued in.
