If the bolts end up at 500 gp per shot or less they will be viable for PvE, perhaps, but I don't see them dropping that low. Rubies are still very powerful, and dragonstone bolts are roughly 500 gp per shot.

The reduce in cast speed and magic accuracy is nice. Makes mages splash a ton on void armor. The bleeding effect is kind of underwhelming. The run energy drain is nice as well. It drains run energy very fast and the target also doesn't regenerate any energy. Coupled with bolas you could stop mages from escaping entirely.

Even if I get the fletching requirement, it looks too inconvenient to make a stash of bolts because of the inconvenience will having to make them on the spot. The fighting mechanics and power would make them worth it, but I am just going to yawn and ignore this update until I feel like buying bolts in the future.

At least this leaves Morytania tasks as the last update this month.

Players trying to trade an item for the same lent version of that item are now warned that there is no feasible reason to do this and that it's likely a scam. The "player has declined the trade" text is also now shown in all chat panels.

Wonder why they did this?

Apparently (and I constructed this almost from imagination), there was a scam. Here's how it worked:

>Players 1 and 2 both have a Santa hat.

>Player 1 promises to let player 2 "hold" their Santa hat in exchange for borrowing player 2's santa hat. Perhaps there is some excuse like not "risking" it in a dangerous situation where 3 items are kept.

>They trade; player 1 puts up the Santa, and player 2 puts up a loan.

>Player 1 declines the trade.

>Player 2 believes they have loaned out Player 2's Santa to Player 1 and that the Santa in their inventory is Player 1's Santa. In fact, the Santa in Player 2's inventory is Player 2's, and Player 1 still has his Santa. In fact, no loan has taken place.

>Player 1 asks for his Santa back.

>Player 2, believing his Santa is loaned to Player 1, gives his Santa back.

>Player 1 actually now has both Santas and leaves.

"Fight for what you believe in, and believe in what you're fighting for." Can games be art?

How to avoid getting your magic attack speed reduced by Bakriminel bolts:

Step ONE (1): Wear a helmet.

Step TWO (2): Do not remove said helmet when in the presence of another PKer.

The bleeding effect seems unbelievably lame. The leg effect seems totally outclassed by bolas. The headshot isn't going to be a problem if you follow the incredible advice above. Helmets are the least important when it comes to magic attack, so just wear a Neitiznot or something and there won't be much of a difference.

And Magic remains the most powerful PvP skill. Sigh.

Yeah, this update seems like a dud all the way around.

Pretty trees. Forgetful everything else.

Should probably go ahead and note that the Hydra familiar can't be used to regrow these trees. I'd briefly considered it then read on RSOF that it worked but when I tried it, it did not.

Good job Raven.

Why did they even do it that way? I mean, you can mine materials for flasks and bank them for later, can't you? Those are probably the only similar items, and as Raven humorously stated, you're screwed if you forget the rest of your supplies.

It's just like... Why? :???:

oh, so that's what happened to lucien after he died

i was worried that having his body disappear after everything happened meant that something else happened to it

also i don't think slayer helms are technically magic equipment so those could also work

anyway, i'd change the effect to also work if the person in question has cast a spell in the previous ten seconds

"Bloodwood trees take some time to grow back once cut. Whats more, the bolts dont drop to the floor once used, and cant be collected by Avas equipment."

Whelp. That's it for me folks.

I'll just go sit in a corner waiting for tasks to come out.

They probaly won't be PvM, they probaly won't be gathered by the mass, but I can see their use in PvP.

Low amount of people that are able to gather bolts + low willingness to gather bolts + scare method of getting bolts + risk when getting bolts = expensive bolts.

In the end, price will decide and set the demand/supply for it. If little enough people are willing to make them and enough to use them, we got ourselves a nice profitable woodcutting / fletching update! AND THAT LADIES AND GENTLEMEN IS A GOOD THING!

Also this will be commonly used by people alching or doing such things as to make money on the side I can see. Expect the safe trees to be camped 24/7

I could see these bolts perhaps having a niche use in PvM stuff for the likes of one off challenges eg fight caves or fight kiln or perhaps as a default questing ammo since quest bosses often do weird things with various specials and its hard to predict what bolts to take.

Is their ranged strength higher than all previous bolts? I'm too lazy to look it up but I feel like it might be.
