First the removal of f2p hiscores, then the effigy nerf, the release of Early Bird specials as added insult ('add something positive'), then the release of SoF, then buyable spins.

Pointless way to make your players hate you.

Much needed nerf, but left far too late.

Yay!

This does not bode well.

...God damn it why did i have to be right.

It is possible it could be considered gambling, and therefor illegal without a license. Probably not though.

The way I see it is Jagex are only saying that they are selling spins.. and if you pay they deliver those spins. It's just a microtransaction, and also the 'you always win' thing just makes it a massive loophole

Who wants to open a casino irl and make it so someone always wins a plastic gold coin minimum and you can win max maximum.

On a semi related note I just wanted to express how disappointed I am that they wasted the empty tab on the SoF shit. I had high hopes that the tab was going to be something a bit more worthwhile.

I think it's quite insulting to add a tiny feature of the game alongside stuff like Quests, Skills, Tasks etc, but that's just a personal view.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

I miss the summoning tab...

Apparently the credit card issue was fixed.

Referring to this thread: [qfc]15-16-671-63674649[/qfc]

quote of the important part

"There are security measures in place to ensure that nobody but you can use your details, and even if youve chosen to store your information on the account for quick access to these when making a new purchase youll still need to enter the cards CVV code when doing so. Even if someone gained access to your account (which is really unlikely for players following our security info!) they still can** use your card to make payments without having your CVV, which would mean actually having your card to hand. "

Of course they act as if it has been like that all along and as if players didn't need to point out, and they don't mention that they told us we were secure from credit card fraud before this change....but I guess it's something. Is there someone who can try to confirm this btw? I see no reason why the OP of the thread would make this up, but you never know...

A facebook group against the SoF had a person post saying this a few days ago:

Spoke with Game-stop's corporate office, and also mailed out a few letters to vendors.

The lady I spoke to had mentioned "off the record" that they had just secured a deal to sell "J-Coin" cards in the next year which can be used to purchase memberships or 'other'.

Looks like we'll be seeing a lot more j-coins in the coming year.

I think he meant more uses for jcoins outside of War of Legends.

Yeah, I was missing a couple words in there. :P Posting this early in the morning isn't good for me.

In a way you can already use JCoins to buy EXP, it costs JCoins to unban accounts banned for botting.

You make it sound like running through a few level 87 monsters is hard which it really shouldn't be at your level.

My god, for whatever reason I decide to check general discussion for the first time in year and this is what rs has become?

That's just sad.

That's probably just similar to the Game-Wallet that you could use to buy membership

Why would they sell J-Coins for membership when they already sell membership cards?

Sony does it. You can buy $20 Station Cash cards and use them toward subscriptions or as straight up station cash. Jagex might be unifying their systems under one roof in preparation for Transformers Online which may or may not include microtransactions (Jagex has said in the past that they were looking toward such a system for future titles). Unifying the systems would also offer more publicity for War of Legends.

Chances are, the transformers game will most likely have some horrible microtransaction system too (though if they start that way at least it won''t be a huge hypocrisy like what they did to rs..o my poor rs...). And you can bet that I will not be a spending a single minute playing it if it is.

I'm hoping today's update will nerf the exp gain from the SoF so its at least equal to the max xp per hour you can get in skills like RC and Agility. I mean its still not ideal but I guess we have to hope they will meet us in the middle.

Sounds like no where near the middle. Why would someone pay $$ for it if it didn't give them any advantage?

Because some people don't buy spins for exp. They buy it because they can't wait to spin the Squeal of Fortune once more!
