SirHartlar
Any good guides for an absolute beginner looking for afk exp? What sort of rates can I expect at level 80?
Th e Doctor
Around 50-80 k exp/hr depending on if you siphon nodes or creatures. Creatures give ten runes and then 50 essence. Nodes give better exp, variable # of runes and no essence. Siphon law esshounds until you have 1 k essence, then go siphon the highest nodes you can find until your essence runs out, siphoning creatures when no good nodes are up. Sorator
Guides are actually fairly unnecessary for span; the intro tutorial does a pretty good job. A few important things to mention that the tutorial doesn't:Don't use the Chip Off option. Just don't.Non-combination nodes offer twice the XP as creatures of the same rune type - you'll want to be siphoning nodes whenever you can. While I don't really recommend actively hunting for the wizard in yellow robes, if he shows up nearby, you should (at your level) always give him blood runes, no matter what he asks for (if you don't have 10 bloods on you, give him his request instead).Unless the runesphere pops up right next to you, don't bother looking for it - you'll usually wind up with less XP and less points than if you just kept with your normal method. This won't help on your first visit, but make sure that when you leave, you have at least 200 points saved for when you next return. This allows you to get a 'starter set' of 10 of each rune you can make from Wizard Finix (talk to him once you're inside). This saves so much time, since you don't have to go hunting for the runes to cross platforms to your camping spot, and there's no waste since the runes you don't use get converted back into points when you leave. I personally camp out on the upper level, siphoning from a blood wraith while watching for nearby nodes. I generally switch to nodes above shifter (so shifters, jumpers, skulls, and blood pools, and once you have access to them, bloody skulls/living souls/undead souls as well), with the occasional nebula if it shows up on my island. I'll usually also build up to at least 200 essence before switching to any nodes, just to avoid annoyingly running out of ess halfway through the thing. Obtained quest cape and base 92 before obtaining any 99s! Currently finishing out my 99s with the (long-distant) goal of comp cape.
Naive
Actually I'm pretty sure at 80+ RC giving the Wizard his requested rune is better experience than bloods alone. Flyingjj
It's either lvl 77 or 78 that giving him the runes he asks for becomes the best option.
