I literally play just to get rid of the pop up interface. If they would just get rid of that I would be happy. I log in/out about 10 times a day for as little as 5 min at a time (herb runs) and the stupid pop up is annoying as hell.

Thanks to player feedback,

In other words, they weren't getting enough money from SoF

Were confident that this revised selection of prizes will ensure that spinning the Squeal is not only more exciting than ever, but will also bring about some genuinely useful contributions to your ongoing RuneScape adventures.

Like what, exactly?

1000 gp.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

sure they remember to update wheel every other week...where are other planned updates that we weree waiting year already such as 10 year cape.

looks like they will do sof updates when they see amout of spin buyers decreasing so they want to attract them again with something new in it.

Hope they mix out those rewards with the lamps so the chance of getting em gets worse.

What is people issues with the lamps? Do you not like getting the lamps instead of the 50 gp spins? If people want to pay for 99 in a skill via SoF, good for them. You shouldn't be angry at these people just because they have the extra money to spend on the wheel when you won't.

If only they made it 10x more likely to win the lottery. I would still be poor.

I slightly support the idea of puttings tons of gp into the game > The xp lamps. However it would require that they be pretty rare... Otherwise whats stopping me making tons of accounts and trading the gp to myself. If thats the case.. Then lamps still probably pop up frequently. The gp slot itself I not so sure its a good thing to put gp into the game but wtf I dont care as it is the 'sof' we talking about. Its done far worse things than that.

As for some of the random things like getting planks etc. Pletty much depends which type and how many. That could be an improvement > The other junk skilling items that currently display.

Im not so sure lamps changing tbh. Just them switching around the item slots that already exist. If lamps appear less often then this is a good update imo. Though obvious jagex will take that as positive feedback >.> No jagex no.. Its because its such a bad thing for the game that reducing number of lamps reduces some of the negativity of it. Largely those lamps be fine if it wasnt for the real world trading bit too.

I don't understand everyone's problem with lamps, they're better than most of the other crap common 'rewards'. I know the whole paying real money for a 99 aspect of it sucks but it's that person's choice to waste their money on it, it doesn't directly affect you, and I'd still rather have a nice quick chunk of xp than the 1k/5k/whatever amount they're going to give out.

It directly affects the poor level 10 pker getting sliced by that $500 kyatt pure :(.

Anyway, an update as annoying and uninteresting as the SoF itself.

Never been angry about it, just think they're too common. And i think the main reason people are giving SoF the evil eye is because it was a drastic game change from the idea of what runescape was built from.

I've been there through almost every update of this game, both good and bad.

And as everyone does when they've built up memories in something they make their own values that they think only matters, but i can't decide what your good experiences in a game should be, its interesting to see someone actually enjoying the SoF feature actually.

I'm not playing the same game anymore and i guess i just have to get used to that.

Quite agreed with Fred_S, the game does change and you can only accept that. The main reason to quit over the SoF would be that it breaks a few promises made by Jagex to not allow people to buy their success in RuneScape.

I can only think of one good thing for me, and even that is still pushing my luck boundaries: Katana Drop.

Pretty sure the Katana doesn't count as a super-rare cosmetic item.

Well, I hope it doesn't count as a "cosmetic". Because if it did, then that would probably mean lucky Godwars armor, spirit shields, dragon equipment would count too. And having 10x more of these lucky ducky freebies floating around will make me about 10x angrier than I already am.

I'm not actually that angry at this very moment, but 10x is a lot.

Just remove the wheel already.

The wheel world trading isn't much a great deal now, especially after Jagex released the rune-span to troll at those who buy spins for RC exp.

I would be happy if they can just remove the bloody waving Goblin in the middle of my screen every time I relogin.

My personal issue with the lamps is the ability to buy experience, not because I cannot, but because it doesn't make for a totally level playing field. I very much hate pay to win games (p2w). Which are games that to compete you literally are forced to spend real money to buy equipment/slots/level buffs/etc, otherwise you have no access to it.

Now the Squeal isn't p2w. They are small boost, but it is that slippery slope effect I don't like. Which is it isn't that hard to slide a bit farther and have pay for items, etc.

If Jagex has been really listening to feedback, I think the main concern I hear is the ability to in some regards buy experience via the wheel. Personally that is my complaint too. The way to make me more "ok" with the wheel is to decrease lamp chances and increase cosmetic or small cash rewards from it. Personally I don't mind if someone spends $200 on spins if they get a fancy hat I'll likely never get. I think both the community and Jagex can win on a compromise on an increase in cosmetic rewards and a decrease of experience. People that want the cosmetic rewards and have the spare cash will be more inclined to spend (waste?) it on spins if they believe there chances are actually going to be good now and I don't have to read arguments that it is more efficient experience to work 40 hours a week at a job that pays $20 an hour and spend surplus money on spins for experience then actually playing the game.

I suppose that is a bit of a tangent, but it is my hope that Jagex still listens.

I'd rather the Squeal hand out dragon bones and mahogany planks than prayer and construction lamps.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

As would I.

Yes, it's still buying experience, but the end result is that you still have to play the game to get it. Not like these joke EXP lamps.

Correct...

I'm pissed at Jagex for making it possible in the first place...

Does anyone know how many hours till this update comes into effect?

Been saving a few spins from quests, so I'm just curious.
