I know this is a vague topic to ask advice or help on, but I just joined members within the past 2 weeks. My character was a pure so only had 50 att 50 str 10 def 75 ranged and 62 magic, not any other skills. I was fortunate from my pking days to have acquired a couple million and have since used most of that to get most of my skills up to or above 50. (68 smithing, 60 firemaking, etc.)

I have limited gear and only 44 def. I am ok with doing a little merchanting but I dont have the kind of money to make it truly worthwhile. And I dont have the money or gear to go do the high end monster fights with the sick drops.

Now I'm not completely stupid, I know I could grind away and mine 10,000 coal or cut 50,000 yew logs etc. to make money and I will be doing those things as I level my skills, but I am looking for your advice for what has worked for you when you were in a pinch and didn't have 20m just lying around to merchant or buy gear to go slay high end monsters.

Let me also point out that I hate mining. And fishing isn't my favorite. But other than that talk to me about what has worked for you.

I feel that I am fairly proficient at merchanting, regardless of how you feel about the concept, but I can't truly dive into that until I get a larger cash source.

And if you think merchanting is the answer and you feel like being generous and lending some money until I can repay, go for it.

The reason I am so curious is that I played this game several years ago and just got back into it, so I am about 5 years behind on quests, skills, etc. in the game, let alone the members side of the coin.

Any advice or assistance would be very appreciated. I am more than willing to try different money making ventures and can keep you all posted on how it goes.

Thanks again.

Farming. I paid for turmoil (that's ~200m, in case you don't know) with farming, never had a cash pile over 5m before that (and didn't have over 10m until after that). Don't woodcut or mine for cash, focus on levelling cheaper, quicker skills first. Questing is a great way to explore the game and mostly free or very cheap.

Killing dragons is generally better money than any type of skilling at similar stats if you got a whip or rune crossbow, e.g. green drags @ 60-70 combats, frosts at 85+ dg.

What would be ideal gear (ranged since im 76 ranged) and ideal location to do green dragons? And should I keep bones and hides or bury bones and focus on hides?

A lot of my money came initially from farming, that's a great way to start out. Another good method to level your skills and make a little bank at the same time is slayer. I am not entirely sure how well slayer is for money at a lower level (it's been too long), but I do know that it is great experience and a decent money maker once your level gets up there. If you don't care for slayer, try camping a monster that is decent cash (dragons). If anything, this will give you enough money to start merching.

Ideal gear, void range deflector w/ acp (void only takes time to get, and you get some combat xp) and rune crossbow w/ runite bolts.

Realistically, since you're probably not 85 herblore, regular void range with an antifire shield and the same weapon. Just increase ranged attack as much as you can.

Location depends a bit on your risk, ideally the Forinthry Dungeon if you're alone, but the spot near Clan Wars has quick banking with a games neck and isn't as dangerous.

You should bank and sell bones and hides.

In the Wilderness, exit the Grotto.

Find the in the chaos tunnels. Use the wiki.

Apparently not, my bad . Clan Wars tele got removed (shows how much I used it). I guess that means you're stuck with the dragons north-west of Edgeville.

If i were to kill dragons i would use chaos tunnels. You tele to varrock, bank at ge, hop under wall, run north a little, enter rift, 2 portals and you're at drags.

Theres tons of bots and 4 fast spawning greens. With max melee you can quite easily crash every single green on any given world.

Your stats are far too low to crash bots effectively, though.

I'd personally just mine if i were you. Powerbank iron ore using the resource dungeon until 60. Then mine granite, dropping any that are not 5kg, and use home teles to bank. Then bank conc gold at 80. It's slow GP/hour but so is everything else you can do, and these are practically the fastest ways to train mining anyway so if you're gonna do it 1 day, why not today?

Fishing rocktails with the fishing aura is also a good way, but it will take a while to reach the level needed to fish them.
