An offence from 2000

Someone i know says he has an offence from year 2000(mute for bad language).

Not taking that RS was launched in 2001 into consideration, how would i prove him that this is a bug?

 

Also, does anyone have anything official about when Runescape appeared on miniclip?

My first thought was that your friend is lying. Have you seen yourself that the message says 2000 as the year?

As far as I'm aware muting wasnt available as an option until RS2.

I'm assuming he is telling the truth about the offence date and if he is it is most definitely bugged. So far he hasn't listened to any of my reasoning why this cannot be true.

He also said he joined RS in 2000 through Miniclip(that's why i'm asking about it) and that RS2 beta was in 2001.

 

Rune wiki says nothing about when muting started, only that player moderators were introduced in 2004. He could have been muted by a Jmod though.

Yeah Rs launched jan 01

Rs2 beta was nov 03 - jan/feb 04 at which point rs2 launched.

Rs was not on miniclip til like 05/06.

 

Muting deffo existed for some of original Rs (if memory serves) but no pmod at that time so rarer.

I don't think it's possible for a mute to have existed in 2000, since all of the old mutes/bans changed to "legacy offence" upon the release of the beta, and time/date etc. was removed from the listing.

 

I could be wrong but if memory serves correct this is what happened.

Well you can now just show him this page on the Runescape site and he can't argue since the timeline starts at 2001. :)

Hmmm... I doubt DeviousMUD even had a reporting system(and if it did I doubt it would be compatible with the current system) let alone the ability to mute players, so I am almost certain a report from 2000 being in the system is an impossibility

1998-2000: DeviousMUD (RuneTek 1 engine)

2001-2003: RS classic (RuneTek 2 engine)

2003-2007: RS 2 (RuneTek 3 engine)

2007-2009: RS HD (RuneTek 4 engine)

2009-Present: RS HD-cross platform (RuneTek 5 engine)

Plus DeviousMUD was never open to the public, it's just the game Andrew built but never released, however he salvaged most of the code in the creation of Runescape.
