Best melee xp 90+?

Hey guys, just wondering what the best xp is for training melees 90+?

I maul, korasi's, and whip with EE, so i can train most places, doesn't have to be AFK (since i assume best xp/h is ability-based) but i'm thinking about maxing, and don't wanna be wasting my time.

Thanks!

if you aren't 99 slayer and you plan on maxing then slayer would be the most efficient way.

^ also the FSH is wonderful for xp/hr. The only drawback to this method is that you will get range/mage tasks as well; if you are looking to grind nothing but melee, then it may not be the best choice.

Logic would tell you that training slayer concurrently with melee when your combats are less than 99 would save time over the long-term. Slayer assignments aren't the best melee XP in the game, though (even on melee tasks), which was your original question.

Basically what I'm saying is: are you really looking to get melees done as quickly as possible, and then maybe go for max, or looking to max as quickly as possible?

I'm looking for melees as fast as possible at the minute, just to grind out a couple of levels to DG a little bit more efficiently :) I know i need to do slayer eventually (and soon, if nothing else to get the whip vine) but i just want a couple of melee levels atm :)

Thanks for all the replies though, i only ever seem to get ranged (bolts) tasks with Kuradel -.-

If you were to go an at-all-costs route, you could cancel/block tasks that aren't melee.

Plus bad melee tasks: jungle strykewyrms, desert strykewyrms (?), dust devils, living rock creatures.

Terror dogs are bad XP too, but there's better places to spend your slayer points. The reason I put a question mark on deserts are because they're not that bad, but some people find the stomping animation annoying.

Since wheen are wyrms bad xp? I was getting a nice 1k xp pop per kill last time I was there which is much higher than most things in my experience and they are a relatively fast task.

Wyrms were very average pre-EoC, but since EoC I'd definitely agree with you. I don't think there's any good reason not to do them now, but others I've spoken to still seem to object to doing those tasks (non-AFK?). Their XP rates are comparable to Jadinko Guards and Nechraeyl.

There aren't really any afk tasks these days though since 9/10 monsters are unaggressive by default.

Note that Defence can be trained using Range and Magic.

However, on the topic of the best melee xp outside of slayer (according to Gemeos's sheets), Fire Giants are 250kxp/hr, assuming max efficiency (Max gear, ovls, familiar, tagging everything, Turmoil and such) Not having these would still generate good xp. I don't know if cannoning will generate melee xp (i havent used a cannon since EOC) but the logical place to kill them would be in the Waterfall dungeon.

Defence, can and should be trained with Magic as you can acheive more kills per hour with it. Ganodermic beasts are aparently 600kxp/hr. So it is worthwhile to train Slayer.

AFK: Fire giants with whip + EE, momentum, supers and bunyip

Non-AFK: Deadly red spiders with maul and abilities (supers and occasionally regenerate for healing)

Fire giants are aggressive, switch between inside and outside of resource dungeon if they stop being aggressive.

Spiders in varrock sewers are botted, try chaos tunnels.

R.I.P. oO000oO0oO00, RS2 range pure transformed to a maxed PvM char in EoC, ten years of time completely wasted.
Good to be gone :)

Dual wield is used for momentum.

whip < korasi < vine whip

He literally said momentum after naming two weapons you dual wield with? :')

Thanks for all the replies though, I'm gonna make my start soon :)

Take it from a trimmer :P do slayer... because it's annoying when you do DG and you can't do a gd cause it's a nechrael and you're not even 80 slayer for it :P or a seeker or a soulgazer or a eddimu.. it happens pretty often when you dung with randoms that have leeches and if you know how to paf on your own -- overall slaying helps and is the most efficient

if all you want to do is dg then i suggest buying floors... if you think that having higher melee stats helps you dg faster.. sure.. but not much faster.. you'd be 999999999999999999% better off just doing slayer and if you're not 99 range/mage, and i see that you aren't :P do those too lol

just trust the people who said slayer and me :P
